KOTA BARU: Perikatan Nasional (PN) will decide on Monday whether to agree or disagree with a draft of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) regarding conditions for allocations for opposition members of parliament.

PN Chief Whip Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan said all of the coalition's MPs will discuss the matter that day and they will decide on the matter.

"We will wait for Monday's meeting to determine our position, as it involves all PN MPs.

"Whether we agree or disagree with the conditions, everything will be decided then. We hope for a positive outcome from the meeting," he said after the Kota Baru Half Marathon (KBHM) prize presentation today.

On Sept 2, Takyuddin said there was a list of conditions allegedly imposed by the unity government for opposition MPs to receive the allocations they had requested.

The draft MoU on Opposition Allocations, received on Aug 6, had outlined seven conditions, including asset declarations, support for the government until the end of the 15th Parliamentary term, and adherence to matters related to race, religion, and royalty (3R).

Takiyuddin had labelled the conditions as "odd" and said that the MoU for compulsory allocation is for opposition MPs to carry out their work, while comparing it a previous federal administration when all MPs were given the allocations.

However, unity government spokesman Fahmi Fadzil had said on Sept 3 that the MoU draft for allocations for the opposition is not final and can be discussed.
