KOTA KINABALU: Sabah is aiming for a larger allocation under Budget 2025 to address its development needs, says Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.
Hajiji expressed hope for an allocation exceeding the RM6.6bil received in 2024.
He emphasised that due to the state's large size and pressing development needs, Sabah anticipates a bigger budget when it is presented in Parliament on Oct 18.
In his numerous discussions with the Prime Minister, Hajiji requested increased funding because of the state's size and diverse requirements.
"This year (2024), we received RM6.6bil, excluding other projects like the Pan Borneo Highway," he noted.
"We hope that Budget 2025 will offer Sabah more funding than last year."
