KUALA LUMPUR: The Retail Solution Expo (Resonex) 2024 is set to make a significant impact on the retail and hospitality industry in Malaysia.
This year's event, scheduled to take place from Nov 7 to 9 at Pavilion Bukit Jalil Exhibition Centre, promises to be bigger and better than ever before.
Speaking to the New Straits Times after the launch, Diverge Retail Sdn Bhd chief executive officer and founder of Resonex Adrian Ang said the exhibition, which is expected to showcase 200 booths, will serve as a hub for discovering the latest advancements in retail.
This, he said, would offer attendees the chance to explore new products, services, and ideas that can drive their businesses forward.
"Resonex is more than just a typical expo, it's a comprehensive experience centre that includes exhibit, live demonstrations, competition, educational sessions, and networking opportunities."
Ang said Resonex attracts a diverse audience from small local business owners to executives of major retail chains who all share the same goals to embrace the future.
"Resonex, now in its third year, is a trade expo that brings together retailers, technology and service providers, industry experts, and innovators under one roof. The event aims to showcase the latest advancements in retail and provide attendees with opportunities to explore new products, services, and ideas that can drive their businesses forward.
"One of the highlights of Resonex 2024 is the enhanced International Gourmet showcase, which will feature food solutions from around the world. Whether you're looking for new ideas for your gourmet menu or simply want to discover the latest trends in food and beverage, this segment is not to be missed," he said.
In addition to the food and beverage focus, Ang said Resonex will also feature health, wellness and fashion solution segments.
"These segments will be led by industry experts and showcase local retailers who are committed to providing high-quality products and services.
"Resonex is more than just an exhibition; it's a platform for fostering connections and collaboration within the retail industry."
Ang said the event will feature a business community platform which aims to provide better market insights and opportunities to those involved in the Resonex ecosystem.
Also present at the launch was Malaysian Association of Hotels chief executive officer Isaac Raj, Malaysian Food and Beverages Executives Association (MFBEA) president Hisham Tan and sponsors of the upcoming event.
Raj said MAH looks forward to the collaboration with Resonex and all the other industry service providers.
"MAH has about 1,100 hotels registered with it and we believe we will be able to further bridge the connection between retail, technology and hospitality industry players in the country," he said in his speech.
He said since 2025 is going to be Visit Malaysia Year, this collaboration was timely.
"We look forward to providing visitors an unforgettable experience, which they may have missed following the pandemic. Service providers can also use this platform for networking purposes and to market themselves, regaining strength in the tourism and hospitality industry," he said.
Meanwhile, Hisham said one of the highlights of the exhibition was going to be the three-day Bartender and Mixology Competition.
