Daily Market Update - 15 Apr 2016 (MUHIBAH, TAMBUN)

This blog provides market updates and trading ideas that I gather from around the web.

Dow Jones: 17,926.43 pts (+18.15 pts, +0.10%).
U.S. stockmarkets advanced for the third straight day despite the inflation rate for March rose only 0.9% Y.o.Y – coming short of economists’ estimates of 1.1% Y.o.Y rise. Meanwhile, the mixed bag of corporate earnings from financial institutions such as from Bank of America, Wells Fargo & Co and BlackRock Inc also sent the Finance Index 0.3% higher.
 
FBM KLCI: 1,723.78 pts (+0.67 pts, +0.04%).
The key index will likely to trend higher, taking cue from the positive development in Wall Street overnight. The next resistance is located at the 1,730-1,740 levels.

Crude Palm Oil: RM2,657 (-RM2, -0.08%).
Palm oil futures gave up all its intraday gains to close marginally lower yesterday as export remain weak ahead of data on early April shipments. The resistance is envisaged around RM2,800, followed by RM3,000.

WTI Crude oil: US$41.50 (-US$0.26, -0.62%).
Crude oil prices retreated for the second session, after the International Energy Agency has trimmed the global demand growth in 2016. The immediate support will be located that the US$40.00.

Gold: US$1227.89 (-US$14.58, -1.17%)
The selling activities on Gold persisted for the second session as global equities edged higher. Support remained pegged around the US$1,209 level.
