FBM KLCI: 1,546.02 pts (-11.23pts, -0.72%)

Despite opening sharply lower at the start of the trading bell, the FBM KLCI (-0.7%) managed to trim most of its' intraday losses on the back of the bargain hunting activities that shored the glove makers heavyweights into the positive territory. Market breadth stayed negative as losers outmuscled the gainers on a ratio of 803-to-283 stocks. The REIT sector (+1.6%) outperformed the negative broader market alongside with the industrial products and services sector (+1.1%) as the latter was anchored by gains from Hap Seng Consolidated (+48.0 sen) and Petronas Chemicals (+17.0 sen).
