FBM KLCI: 1,529.02 pts (-1.42pts, -0.09%)

The FBM KLCI (-0.1%) finished in the negative territory for the session as the government is looking at several measures to boost revenue, including capital gain tax and one-off higher tax rate for companies benefited under the Covid-19 environment; the key index declined led by selling pressure on telco heavyweights. Market breadth, however, turned positive as the gainers outpaced the losers by 584-to-382 stocks. The technology sector (+1.3%) extended its gains and outperformed the mixed broader market with MYEG (+3.0 sen), UWC (+18.0 sen) and GREATEC (+15.0 sen) taking the lead.
