FBM KLCI: 1,411.73 pts (+20.13pts, +1.45%)

The FBM KLCI (+1.45%) regained footing to close above the 1,400 level following the overnight positive performance on Wall Street as the rescue package for First Republic Bank eased market fears, offsetting the current banking turmoil. Market breadth turned positive as the advancers overruled the decliners by 711-to-244 stocks. All the 13 sectorial indices rebounded with the construction sector (+3.07%) taking the lead; some notable gainers include GAMUDA (+24.0 sen), IJM (+3.0 sen), and EKOVEST (+1.5 sen).
