Malaysia's Proton to set up car factory in Karachi

 

KARACHI: Renowned Malaysian car manufacturing company Proton has announced to establish a factory in Pakistan, Malaysian High Commissioner Ikram Mohammad Ibrahim said on Thursday.

This would be the company's first assembly plant set up in any South Asian country. 

Ibrahim added that the announcement will be made formally by Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohammad during his visit to Pakistan.

The agreement between Pakistan and Malaysia will be signed on Saturday, he said.

The High Commissioner further went on to say that the car plant will be established in Karachi, also known as the economic hub of Pakistan.

The Malaysian-based corporation, Proton was established in 1983 and has so far sold 3 million cars.

Proton cars are sold in more than 25 countries including Britain, Singapore and Australia.

THAT MEANS THAT PROTON CITY WILL SEE EVEN MORE PRODUCTION OF CAR BODY PARTS & ENGINES IN TANJUNG MALIM. THEN SHIP TO PAKISTAN FOR ASSEMBLING

MCE Holdings Berhad (“MCE”) is pleased to announce that its wholly owned subsidiary, MultiCode Electronics Industries (M) Berhad, had secured the following new contracts : I) to supply various electronics and mechatronic components and parts for PROTON new car models. (hereinafter referred as the “Proton Project”). Summary of the Proton Project

The supply of these parts is expected to commence in the 1 st quarter of the financial year ending 31 July 2020 over a duration of between 6 years to 9 years in respect of the relevant parts supplied. The Proton Project is expected to generate total revenue of approximately RM35 million for MCE Group over the 9 year period whilst the estimated total investment cost is RM3.8 million.

From here we can SEE that Proton City in Tanjung Malim expects to be in Business for 6 to 9 years more

Don't be fooled by 2 naive factors

4 billion shares sounded a lot? But at 4 sen per share the whole cost of entire company is only Rm160 millions

NOW JUST BY DISPOSING 100 ACRES OF GOMBAK LANDS WILL BRING IN

100 x 43,560 = 4,356,000 sq ft

if Rm80 psf

So 4,356,000 x 80 = RM348 MILLIONS

This will pay up all its debts of Rm300 millions

1) TALAM WILL GIVE OUT 10% PRIVATE PLACEMENT AT PREMIUM (4.5 SEN)

USUALLY PP IS GIVEN AT A DISCOUNT (MEANS LESS THAN LISTED SHARE PRICE)

BUT TALAM IS OFFERING PP AT PREMIUM (More expensive than buying from open market)
