If the iron be blunt, and he do not whet the edge, then must he put to more strength: but wisdom is profitable to direct.

It says if the iron or axe head be blunt and if we don't sharpen the edge then we will need to exert more strength to cut something with it. But overall is the need for wisdom or skill to do work

So there are actually 2 parts

1) The Axe or any equipment for the matter must be kept in tip top condition

2) And even if we have the very best equipment we need the knowledge and skill to use it.

Take the Israeli Army for example (Not offense to Malaysia, please. Calvin is neutral in politics)

5G roll out likely to begin middle of next year

ASIN (Nov 16): Roll out of 5G will most likely begin in the middle of next year for areas and industries that need it, said Communications and Multimedia Minister Gobind Singh Deo.

He said the roll out would not be State-centred but instead focused on priority areas.

"A pilot project was started in May, the preliminary report has been submitted to us. Now we are waiting for the full report after which I will bring it to the Cabinet.

"We need a national policy for the launch of 5G which most likely will be in the middle of next year. It is something that can happen but focused on areas and industries needing it,” he told a press conference after the launching of the Anjung Gapam Digital House here today.

The event was officiated by Melaka Chief Minister Adly Zahari. Also present were State Communications and Multimedia, (NGOs), Youth Development and Sports Committee chairman Kerk Chee Yee and Telekom Malaysia Berhad chairman Rosli Man.

WHAT IS 5G Compared to 2G,3G & 4G?

2G is what we would call Kindergarten level

2.8 million lines in Malaysia still using copper wires with 2G

And that was the time Malaysia invited Bill Gates of Microsoft to invest in Data Center or IT Start up

Ha! To the shock and surprise of Bill Gates Malaysia was then wired up with 2G copper wires!!

Bill Gates being the gentleman that he was just smiled and then donated Rm1 millions and quietly left Malaysia

2G copper wires cannot support 5G

3G = some low level fibers (primary school level)

4G = Form 6 or Pre-university level 

5G = 5G builds on 4G. Pre-U is the preparation for U

Only 4G can support 5G (Not 2G or 3G)

Govt investing RM22b in NFCP over the next 5 years

THE government is investing RM21.6 billion via public-private partnerships in the National Fiberisation and Connectivity Plan (NFCP) for the next five years beginning 2019 until 2023.

Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng (picture) said the NFCP will widen the coverage of high-quality and high-speed broadband Internet nationally, while also ensuring the services are affordable.

“This will lay the groundwork for a comprehensive implementation of 5G in Malaysia, and give Malaysia a first-mover advantage in the era of Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR4.0),” he said at the 60th Pan-Asian e-commerce Alliance Steering Committee Meeting in Kuala Lumpur recently.

In 2018, the government reformed the broadband market by implementing the mandatory standard on access pricing, which has made the market more competitive and access cost being cut by at least 30%.

Lim also said the government is executing a plan to provide RM20.7 billion worth of cash and non-cash incentives over the next five years to assist companies to transition to IR4.0.

“After all, either you digitalise, or you will not survive. This is the reality that we have to face.

“If we look at the total amount announced in Budget 2020, both fiscal hardware and the software, it amounts to RM50.3 billion over five years,” he said.

With this, the government plans to aid the digitalisation and future-proofing of the nation’s economy by investing in digital infrastructure, reforming broadband market and urging both small and large businesses to accelerate towards IR4.0.
