Tapes Division (Manufacturing and Trading)
The Group’s tapes division comprises of a manufacturing plant in Perai,
Pulau Pinang and marketing
offices in Malaysia and Singapore.
This division manufactures various adhesive and masking tapes and is
the sole manufacturer of cellulose
tape in Malaysia. Its brand name cellulose tapes, that is Loytape®
Cellulose Tape is an established brand
and well-known locally since 1970s. In addition to cellulose tapes, its
other major product is in the
production of masking tapes, gummed tapes and trading of other
adhesive tapes and packaging
materials. This division serves a wide market base including homes,
offices and industrial users.
The sales volume of its manufacturing plant was marginally higher at 22
million square meters (“m2”) for
the current year as compared to 21 million m2 in the preceding
year, driven by demand growth. The export
sector constitutes a sizeable proportion of its overall sales at 58% in the
current year. The division’s major export destinations are Australia,
China, India, Hong Kong, Thailand and Indonesia.
(Current Sales Revenue is Rm60 to Rm70 Millions.)
Note: The Use of Tapes for E-Commerce is now growing by Leaps &
Bounds. More so due to Covid 19 when whole world gone shopping on-
line. The Huge Success of Amazon, Alibaba, Shopify & Lazada can
attest to this. So selling tapes being a humdrum industry has now
turned into a very hot product. See how Master Pack & other packaging
companies needs lots and lots of Loytapes.

Manufacturing and Trading
The division recorded a revenue of RM17.2 million in 4Q2020 as compared to RM16.0 million in 4Q2019, representing an increase of RM1.2 million. The higher revenue in 4Q2020 was attributed to increase in export sales for tapes products, particularly to North America.
