En. Ainul Azhar bin Ainul Jamal ("En. Ainul Azhar") worked with the Public Works Department as the lead engineer responsible for radar installations at the Malaysian Armed Force military camps upon completing his education in United Kingdom from 1983 to 1984. Subsequently, he began his career as a field engineer with Schlumberger (SLB) in 1984. Over the course of his 32-year stint with the company, he served in various technical, managerial and executive roles in Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Malaysia, France, Canada and the United Kingdom. En. Ainul Azhar held various senior positions within Schlumberger, including Managing Director for Schlumberger South East Asia, Corporate Communications Director of Schlumberger Ltd based in London, as well as Director of Human Resource for Schlumberger WesternGeco and Reservoir Management Group. Between 2010 and 2013, En. Ainul Azhar served as Schlumberger Asia Pacific Executive Chairman, and later assumed his last position as Non-Executive Chairman and Director of Schlumberger Malaysia before his retirement in April 2018. In May 2018, En. Ainul Azhar was appointed to the Board of Directors of Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS) where he served as an Independent Non-Executive Director, Chairman of Audit Committee and member of Nomination and Remuneration Committee. He was also the founding board member of Gentari, a wholly owned entity of PETRONAS. He retired from the Board of PETRONAS in April 2023. Presently, En. Ainul Azhar is an Independent Non-Executive Director of Icon Offshore Berhad, director at Cetco Energy Services (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd and Danau Selasih Sdn Bhd.
