He qualified as a Certified Public Accountant and Chartered Accountant in 1980. He is a member of the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Malaysian Institute of Accountants and the Malaysian Institute of Taxation.
Working Experience
He has extensive experience in auditing, accounting, financial management and corporate finance. He worked with Messrs Ernst & Young from 1976 to 1984 and was appointed as an Audit Manager in 1982. Between 1984 and 1990, he held senior management positions in several major public listed groups including Group Financial Controller of Island & Peninsular Group, Group Chief Accountant of Sime Darby Group and Group Chief Accountant of Lion Group. He joined Berjaya Group of companies as General Manager (Finance) in 1991 and subsequently moved to Berjaya Sports Toto Berhad in 1994. In 1996, he was promoted to Senior General Manager. He is the Chief Operating Officer of Philippine Gaming Management Corporation and also a Director of Games and Technologies, Inc in the Philippines. He also holds directorships in several other private limited subsidiaries of Berjaya Sports Toto Berhad.
