Dato’ Dr Mohd Aminuddin Bin Mohd Rouse graduated with a B.Sc (Hons) in Biochemistry from University Malaya in 1969 and obtained his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Adelaide in 1974. He also won numerous academic awards including the William Culross Award for Scientific Research from the University of Adelaide, International Foundation for Science Award from Sweden and the Fullbright Scholarship from USA.
Working Experience
Dato’ Dr Mohd Aminuddin Bin Mohd Rouse was an academician for 14 years having started as a lecturer in Universiti Pertanian Malaysia (now Universiti Putra Malaysia) in 1969 culminating his academic career as a dean and professor in Universiti Sains Malaysia in 1983. While in academia, he held numerous positions including as Head of Biochemistry and Microbiology, Deputy Dean, Dean and Professor of Biochemistry. He joined Kumpulan Guthrie Berhad in year 1983, a plantation-based conglomerate where he served for 11 years. In year 1994, he join Berjaya Group Berhad as its Group Executive Director and left Berjaya Group in September 1995 to become the Group Chief Executive Officer of Konsortium Perkapalan Berhad (now Konsortium Logistik Berhad) as well as the President and Chief Executive of PNSL Berhad. In November 1997, he assumed the position of Executive Chairman, Indah Water Konsortium Sdn Bhd (IWK) and Deputy Chairman of its parent listed company, Prime Utilities Bhd, until the end of his tenure in October 2000. From January 2001 Dato' Aminuddin assumed the position of President & CEO of Malaysian Technology Development Corporation (MTDC), a venture capital company involved in the acquisition and transfer of technology. Dato' Aminuddin is retired and does not hold any full-time position but he currently sits on the Board of a number of public listed companies including Tanco Holdings Bhd, Ajiya Berhad and STAR Publications (M) Bhd. He aslo sits on the Board of Entogenex Industries (M) Sdn Bhd and is the Chairman of STAR Foundation, the charitable arm of the STAR. He is currently a director of Malaysia South – South Corporation Berhad (MASSCORP), Asia Strategic & Leadership Institute (ASLI) and a council member of Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR).
