He started his career as Bulking Engineer with Sabah Land Development Board prior to joining Pamol Sabah, a subsidiary of Unilever, as Assistant Engineer and later as Factory Manager from 1988 to 1993. He was promoted as the General Manager for Pamol Estates Sabah in 1994 and held the post until his resignation in 2003.
He served as Convener and committee member for the East Malaysia Planters' Association, Malaysian Palm Oil Association and Sabah Employers Consultative Association between 2002 to 2009.
He is currently the Chief Plantations Officer of the Kretam Holdings Berhad (KHB) Group.
