Honest comments from people who actually have met you before.
It truly is harder for rich people to enter the kingdom of god than for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle.

Calvin,
Honestly, your conduct the last 1-2 years have been quite disappointing. I remember thinking you were a very nice person back when i met you in Johor, but honestly, the way you've been acting in pushing companies like these, It's not good.

Why why why calvin? why out of 40 promoted stocks last year you dont have any that is positive?
How come I have so many money making stocks? QL, TOPGLOV, YINSON, STONECO? (and I only have 6 stocks last year)?
WHY WHY WHY CALVIN? WHY DO YOU LIE SO MUCH? BUT MY STOCK PICKS ARE MORE CHUN CHUN THAN YOURS?
WHO TO TRUST? YOU OR ME? MY RESULTS OUTWEIGHT YOURS IN TOTALITY...

Wow this is a shit investor indeed. Going to other sites to promote his own held stocks after buying and telling other to push up so he doesn't show losses.
Someone bought shares from 1 cent to 1.5 cent to 2 cents, now losing value and money.
Embarrassing indeed. This is not how to become a top investor, by insulting other stocks and promoting themselves.
This is his long term results. Poor indeed, very low class investor.

Also, your concept that if the government has a large holdings in the company it will ALWAYS step in to help it out can be a very dangerous assumption if things go bad.
https://www.malaysia-today.net/2015/09/22/the-perwaja-steel-scandal/
You have to look at Sapura in totality and understand it as a business. How are its revenues structured? Where is it coming from? what are its dead weight assets (the OSVs) How efficient are its FPSO? What are the margins are they getting from their O&M, drilling and exploration profits? And most importantly, is it enough to pay their loans and debt obligations and give a profit to investors at these prices?
To simplify, you cannot look at revenue and orderbook alone to judget the quality of Sapura. Since you are in O&G business, I am sure you have been to easier to navigate locations and high risk areas? I have heard horror stories from old classmates who worked in North sea, so when you want to study sapura you need to understand a few core concepts:
1. Cost of oil extraction and production (russia is USD 30, Saudi is USD 5. Sapura so far seems to be in the region of USD50)
2. Efficiency of equipment and team (return on capital employed)
3. Profit margins and Net margin
For sapura, their quarterly revenue has remained steady around the 1.7b range quarterly. Out of this:
1. Their operating expenses were 1.69 b (very very high ratio compared to revenue)
2. Out of this, their finance cost is 150 million every quarter (meaning they have to pay 600 million in interest and debt reduction every year), not to mention taxes.
3. They have already sold many assets and profitable businesses (https://www.thestar.com.my/business/business-news/2018/11/30/sapura-to-sell-stake-in-drilling-division). Meaning they will not be growing, but are in serious cost cutting measure. When oil war is going on, how will they sell their under utilized assets?
4. How long can their cash in hand last before they need another influx either from private placements, sales of businesses and assets at force sell prices, or more debt increases?
5.Continuing operations:
Revenue Operating profits
E&C 1,592,166 16,089
Drilling 185,860 (48,151)
E&P - sold 14,277
In a nutshell, their operating profits from engineering and construction is 1%!! and their drilling will always be a negative amount. And since they already sold their profitable exploration and production to OMV ( which was supposed to be the big help), you have a company that is only hoping to survive by selling assets to people who do not want them (thus selling at cheap prices), while trying to get whatever contracts at hand just to keep going (instead of doing profitable contracts at good prices).
I think understanding the business directly, will give you a deeper outlook to the company's future, instead of just betting on the accounting land figures which can be massaged anyway you like.
Real World Numbers never lie.

In my opinion sapura energy is very complex and dangerous. Firstly if you are in O&G business, may I know which part? O&M? H&S? Production? Exploration? Manpower? QC?
In either case I repeat my previous analysis
"As you probably know in upstream business,
There is,
Engineering & construction,
Drilling and completion,
Exploration & production,
Operation & maintenance
Back in the early years of 21st century when price per barrel hit 90+, doing exploration and drilling was a very very profitable thing so do. Companies like Sapura and Armada structured very bad deals due to greed, where they had joint ventures with oil field concessionaires and countries to do PROFIT SHARING on exploration and extraction activities. As you now know, this was a very bad idea because as the share price drops, their profit margin drops. I believe their BREAK EVEN costs were something like 50 or 60 per barrel for deep water production. So as of today with advances in fracking and oversupply the price per barrel had been dropping by a very huge amount, causing huge long term losses and impairment with those companies. In the long run the price per barrel will surely recover, but like WorldCom back in the day planting undersea telecommunication cables everywhere, the one to profit in the next cycle will not be them.
Contrast that to yinson, their business model is very straightforward. FPSO charter per man day fixed contract only. Also an initial down payment to pay for ship conversion, and a fixed sum penalty in case of early termination of contract.
Very simple very straightforward. Their specialists are from Europe ( they bought over entire European company to start the FPSO business a long time ago), and they don't have to worry about the price of oil per barrel, as their contract can be bareboat charter or inclusive of operations & management.
Simple, clean and easily understandable. While Armada and sapura are hit by lawsuits ( due to not understanding what they were caught in, blinded by greed and just expanding for expansion sake), every YINSON deal is like the bus company which they started out as. Although in this case the passengers pay to build the bus, then pays a daily rental, and send in their own mechanics, conductors and driver to run the bus. Yinson jobscope is just to provide the bus. Slightly simplified, but you get the gist of it.
I like simple things that I can understand."

I think this is a stupid concept, because a lot of my friends are stuck now with bank loans that they cannot service due to building shoplots and houses that no one wants to buy and they can't sell off due to low demand. You should only build something that people want, and not because you can.

My opinion is very simple. If a company is unable to grow the business or have further use of unexpended capital, the right move is always to increase shareholder value by buying back shares or giving out dividends. A company that hoards cash and doesn't do anything with it is a horrible company (although icap seems to be on the move with the recent market drop. We will see).
I hate companies that also do the opposite, taking loans to give out dividends, which hurt the company growth.
I hate even more companies that move out of its core competency and use the cash hoard to move into businesses which it has no benefit organically, growing just for the sake of growing. It would be like a palm oil plantation that jumps into property development, or a timber company that jumps into building automation systems.
The best is companies that buy back shares when it is cheap, gives out dividends when there are no good opportunities in the market, and conserving cash when it is needed.
Obviously, with a 200+ million cash hoard and 13 billion orderbook with multiple happy subcontractors that are paid based on progress claim (which is charged back by GKENT), they feel confident enough with their quarterly earnings to aggresively buy back shares.
All we need is patience to see how everything turns out.

Calvin is still trying to fear monger.
Funny how Mr market reacts. Fearing the truth about NETX NFCP delay, and having his entire stock networth (50k sgd) into NETX he is having huge panic and starts deleting every commenters post on NETX forum hoping people will not realize the truth... However he doesn't realize the heavyhanded censorship is casting netx on a very negative light and anyone with half a brain will avoid speculative stocks during times like this when wonderful companies with decades of profitable growth in earnings and revenues are lying by the wayside. And so you know the true motives of this greedy pastor.
Not to help investors in selecting good profitable stocks for the long term. But to make a profit by buying cheap and selling high speculation to new investors caught up in his hurrah. Passing the buck to the next idiot just like in talamt, scomies, bjcorp and others.
Maybe Calvin can learn a thing or two: my fastest growing stock now is topglove, and it is also the one I comment the least on the forum.
Taking bad about other stocks to push your own penny stock that is not God's way. It is the greed of man. Even I do not go around telling everyone to sell NETX to buy ql or yinson or topglove. You are a lot life character with no respectability, and you will be judged in your own way in the end. Especially when you make use of His name to cheat and make money from investors.

Hi enigmatic,
Thanks so much for your concern. Sabah has the second highest growth in cases now, mostly from the East coast side of tawau and semporna. It is very worrying, and I have asked my plantation team to sit tight and stay in the farm. I myself live in Kota kinabalu which is not so bad, but fear is evident everywhere. Lucky
I consider myself lucky because on my own land with only one main house so able to sit tight.
I do worry alot about all those who are living in apartments and HDB flats as they cannot control what others are doing and surrounded by fear everywhere.
Hopefully we can all pull through without needing to resort to more military action. Luckily I have started dabbling in hydroponic vertical farming after my retirement so currently enjoying a lot of fresh vegetables from my greenhouse.

In either case, topglove is still up, ql is still up, stoneco is still up, yinson is still up.
So until then, my margin is still covered.

Follow so what leno? you get rich from Insas? I doubt it. If you own a hotel and you keep giving rooms inside the hotel to other people, you dont get richer la. All that is happening to your shares is it keeps getting diluted, and you keep losing opportunity costs.
Now, Insas is giving out warrants and preference shares that make their directors rich at the cost of shareholders. You still wondering why you can't make money from INSAS while insas management doesn't even buy back 1 single share or increase dividend? Too bad, you have been taken for a ride.
Compare that to properly run and managed companies like QL which treat their shareholders like business partners instead of annoying pests. The difference is huge. No unncessary warrants
(which dilute shares), increasing dividends, properly managed share capital, high cash levels, good investments in Family Mart (instead of roset pacific car and dome coffee).
Now is the time you can finally invest in quality companies that reward shareholders,( when public bank is RM12, when genting and hapseng and so many wonderful companies are selling half the price of last year despite all time highs in revenue and earnings) and you STILL want to invest in average companies?
I follow (KEEP BUYING) QL since 2009, compared to you follow insas since 2000, which has been more profitable?
Just ask yourself what was 2019 lows for INSAS and the 2020 price today. Then compare that to 2019 lows for QL and Topglove and Yinson and compare that to 2020.
When the tide comes out, you finally see who is swimming naked.
