Interesting for you to say that. Maybe you should give me an idea that doesn't build upon someone else's idea. As if boom you born into this world with your own original idea. Felicity doesn't refer to someone in his blog doesn't mean he thought out everything on his own right? Like everything just appear suddenly.

Would you go around asking everyone who agree with what David wrote to state their reasoning why they agree? If you didn't then why would you require anyone who disagree to state their own reasoning?

Oh musingzebra is infomercial, I disagree. Should you state your reasoning just so I don't consider you a troll? I have a problem with troll too. Calling musingzebra as infomercial WITHOUT STATING REASONING definitely has zero value to the public.

Keep it easy, someone said Dayang is a buy, someone else disagree, that's it. If one have problem with a person's attitude, that is your problem, not the market's problem.

If someone uses his writing to measure others i.e IB, you can use that writing to measure the author himself as well. The latter tend to reveal more about the author himself than what the content is telling you.

It is funny how most people here thinks and operate. When something goes against their self interest i.e IB cuts Dayang's TP, they demand more regulation, SC investigations. But when IB's action align with their self-interest, they would happily keep quiet as if all is great and there is no foul play.

Talk about fair and moral. Those loudest are ones that lack the most.

This is what we call fitting reality into own's mental model to justify own's belief.

When the stock price goes down, you got BS justification like correction is healthy, flushing out weak players; when price goes up, you got even more BS justification like this is the beginning, PE10, cheap valuation, good fundamentals. Why are these BS? Because you can always win. Anything that cannot be refuted is as good as being worthless. Or just plain BS.

@Riverofsilver, be my guest any day. You're welcome to remind me any time. I stayed in Hengyuan's forum on its full course. And just to be clear, I say nothing about Dayang's valuation or future potential, and I'm not spouting wisdom, I'm just observing irrationality in crowd behaviour. Besides, if I am to spout wisdom, it is wisdom about knowing what you don't know, something the crowd require in big dose.

Forum is not a fan club. You should spend more time on conflicting, negative opinion, than being drowned in information asymmetry that rewards confirmation bias.

"No need for anyone to be God to know this. Just need to be an intelligently thinking investor with a properly functioning brain."

If everyone know this it means it is a consensus, means it is already baked into the price, which means you have nothing to outperform the market. So the same sentence goes back to your first level thinking - please be an intelligent thinking investor.

The short-term investor asks questions in the hope of gleaning clues to near-term outcomes: relating typically to operating margins, earnings per share and revenue trends over the next quarter, for example. Such information is relevant for the briefest period and only has value if it is correct, incremental, and overwhelms other pieces of information. Even when accurate, the value of the information is likely to be modest, say, a few percentage points in performance. In order to build a viable, economically important track record, the short-term investor may need to perform this trick many thousands of times in a career and/or employ large amounts of financial leverage to exploit marginal opportunities. - Marathon Asset Management

@pjseow you got it completely wrong. It is not because IB's authors are newbies, it is because predicting quarterly EPS is extremely hard.

Put it another way, they can't predict well not because they're stupid and you're smart, it is because reality is complex. You happen to believe you're better than IB because the price agrees with you, but it says nothing how good you're.

P/S: 3 successive qtrs are not 'proven' recovery. That is law of small number.

EPS x PE10 has never failed to ignite people's imagination and delusion. With 2 quarters of earning growth, PE of course turn ultra low, and you see people selling PE10 story, once the next quarter's earning evaporate i.e Hengyuan PE turning 59x, everybody sings a different tune.
