Not necessary.
Money not used to pay dividend can be reinvested into the business, this further allows the business to grow. Some companies does this, much like Berkshire Hathaway.
It does not mean they are stingy and do not take care of MI, their minority flourished with a lot of capital gains instead.

Bratt. You'll be most likely disappointed.
Gkent has formed a Cup and Handle formation as I've told weeks ago. Which is a very bullish formation.
Plus, Fibo 23.6% is close to multiple MA supports.
The chance are not high, unless the stock market crashes.

To be honest, AirAsia's biggest asset is actually Tony himself. Much like Richard Branson to his airline company.

No point rights issue. The problem with AirAsia is that many has lost confidence. So RI will be undersubscribed.
Plus this case, it's like PP, only that it's above or at market price. PP you can say it's unfair to the shareholders. But in this case, no.
It's a clear indication of Tony's commitment and to protect shareholders' interest.

Hevea 5 years Net profit CAGR is 85.72%.
From 2011-2014 mid, Hevea's currency is at around 3.00-3.15, yet growth is 55.28%.
From 2011-2015 peak, Average currency is at 3.66, growth is 85.72%.
While currency appreciation is a windfall, Hevea in previous years has demonstrated that they can register good growth with or without currency fluctuation, unlike some other counters which solely rely on currency windfall.
Not to mention, currently 3.90 is still much higher than 2014 and is as high as Aug 2015.

@YiStock - Hey buddy, yes you are correct. I'm just reinforcing that point.
Construction companies typically will try to secure more projects before a project ends. This is seen where Gkent secured the LRT3 when the Ampang line extension is almost at it's completion. So I'd assume they will try to do so for their other projects. Like I've mentioned earlier, this factor really need to rely on the management. Tan Sri Dato’ Tan Kay Hock said that he will continue to create value for his shareholders. So that's all we can hope for - the human factor.

And great minds think alike, it seems that the engineering division only focuses on big projects. However, I think it's more due to their expertise maybe? Anyways, they don't have enough engineering expertise to cover the whole LRT3 project themselves. If I'm not mistaken, their expertise is more on the railing system. As such, they need to partner with MRCB as PDP.

@YiStock - Thanks for the link, YiStock. Good writeup. I've been thinking about it myself.
However, "Past performance does not predict future returns".
Your assumptions are made based on if Gkent didn't get more projects in the future scenario.
Which I think it's should not be the case. That is one thing that is unpredictable in business. So you just have to trust the management. If you haven't notice it already, Gkent actually has some moats.

All the wait for a year plus was worth it.

- Revenue of RM538.1 million, up 52% from RM353.2 million.
- Profit before tax of RM70.9 million, up 76% from RM40.3 million.
- Profit after tax of RM50.3 million, up 79% from RM28.1 million.
- Dividend of RM21.03 million, up 32% from RM15.92 million.

The significant increase in the Group’s revenue and profit before /after tax were attributed to record
contributions from the Group’s Engineering and Metering divisions.
The engineering division is the main growth driver for FYE2016 results as it contributed 80% of revenue to the tune of RM432.7 million in line with the pace of its projects’ activities. The increase is mainly attributable to the work progress in the healthcare, water and rail construction projects.

The metering division also saw an increase in contributions amounting to RM105.4 million which makes up 20% of revenue for the FYE2016. This increase is largely due to contributions from several fronts including the Group’s largest single order to-date, received from the Water Supplies Department, Hong Kong and the strength of the major foreign trade currencies against the Ringgit.

General

Call Warrant (C) and Put Warrant (H) works differently than normal Warrant (W). I do not recommend Call and Put as they are more suitable for trading and not for investing. Please read the link above for detailed explanation.

Exercise price means the money you need to add-on to exercise to mother share. Eg. current call warrant price is 0.02, you will need to add 2.77 to exercise to become mother share.

As I'm not well versed in call/put warrant, I'm not too sure about ratio 2:1. But in normal warrant, ratio 1:1 means 1 warrant can be exercised to 1 mother share. Better consult your brokerage for more information and clarification.

Not a Dato or Datin, but here's some info about Warrant.
Understand that warrant is a high risk high return tool.
Use it right, you can make some great gains. Use it wrong, it's a weapon of mass wealth destruction.
To invest in warrant, what recommended are: 1. the company of your choice must have solid fundamentals - must pass most of FUNDAMENTAL ANALYSIS METRICS, 2. Must not be too close to expiry, 3. Premium must not be too high, 4. Understand the gearing - risk vs reward ratio.

YOU MUST TAKE CARE OF ALL DOWNSIDE FIRST BEFORE THINKING OF MAKING GAINS, OTHERWISE WARRANT CAN DESTROY YOUR WEALTH.
If you are still unsure on how warrant works after reading the article, you can try learn from KCChongnz in i3investor. Just search for his name, he has an article about it if i recalled.

The selling of Hevea is not fundamentally justified, rather it's driven by temporary sentiment.

1. Hevea actually suffered forex loss from USD appreciation - it has USD denominated loans. Hence Ringgit strengthen actually helps Hevea to repay it's loans, not the other way round.

2. Hevea has recently stated in newspaper that their customer has renegotiated the orders contract. Hence any further appreciation in USD will no longer benefit Hevea anymore.

All Hevea needs to do now is to continue to improve it's productivity and value adding. Forex is less of their concern now.

"Could we SELL before the gap-down? Hmm ... when market is crashing MANY will gap-down ... will you sell for losses or stuck till recovery? Will it ever recover if we are buying those OVER-VALUED ... very speculative counters?

Think this will trigger some BRAIN cells in many traders/investors."

==============================================

Typical "Horse After Cannon" bull crap.
How do you know if a stock is OVERVALUE if you only knows purely TA and not FA?
Being proficient in both, I can tell you, chart's don't lie, but they don't tell you if a stock is overvalued. Candlesticks and TA are also not definite signals, just like when you sold all your perabut in previous 2 posts only to find it go even higher the next day.

You can't even differentiate the traits of investor vs trader. A real investors don't simply sell just because a stock is beaten down temporarily. They look at value, and not the price. "Price is what you pay, value is what you get" - Warren Buffett. People like you will never understand what is value vs price.

@hewiester - Actually from a neutral standpoint, I think Mieco has delivered a strong sets of result. It's just that the one-off gain from 2014Q4 before cloud the eyes.
Here's what I found from my SIMPLISTIC analysis from yearly result (too short of time for detailed ones). Just for sharing:

-Net Profit jumped from 2,991m to 18,644m (523%)
-EBIT grown from 12,209m to 25,747m (110%)
-EBIT Margin grown from 3.8% to 7.6% (100.65%)
-Interest Cost fell by 20% due to paring more debt.
-Debt fell by 20% in 1 year from 101,193m to 80,319m, which is very commendable.
-Cash and Cash Eq jumped from 6,319m to 10,682m.
-Earning Yield jumped from 5.5% to 9.57%.
-Free Cash Flow (!) - 3,157m jumped to 33,344m. See the power HERE? Cash generating power!
-ROE jumped from 1.09% to 5.31%

Actually there's more, but I don't have sufficient time to finish analyze. As always, this is NOT a buy or sell call. Merely humble analysis and opinion of mine. Read and decide at YOUR OWN RISK.
