For once, I agree with Calvin.
Compared to Europe (Inflation still dead), Australia (Brink of recession), Japan (Still struggling), US (Some signs of recovery), emerging markets are still good choices to invest, and that includes Malaysia, China, and a few.

@tony89 - it depends on the companies itself. You must understand, weak MYR/ strong USD is a double edged sword.

If the company's business does not solely rely on the forex gain, then all should be good. Otherwise, the risk of reversal is there.

Take for example, not all of furniture stocks are riding on the weak MYR. Some companies have good business moats or good expansions stories such as Hevea, etc, which should not be affected that much even if ringgit were to rebound strongly.

Stock market is a cyclical thing, few years ago the trend is properties sector, but nowadays they are not, so picking the correct company is important.

What you want to buy, are those kind of companies which are more resilient.

Yes, I've also made money thanks to sifu KC and OTB's advice.
I guess that makes us brothers in arm? *laughes*

Anyway, good for you YiStock, congratulations.
As I've previously said, Inari is not by means a bad stock. It's just that I'm skeptical to invest in a high valuation high growth stock. I've experience many of such stocks before, that when the growth slowed down, the valuation died with it.

One example is Parkson, which went through rapid expansion thanks to the growth in China, but now died with it as well due to China economic slowdown.

By reading the way you wrote, you should be quite young.
High risk means high reward. When you're young, you don't many commitments, this is best time when you are free to take more risk.

Anyway, congratulations on your gains. Cheers.

Most likely due to the technical analysis chart formation of Mieco, Superb99.
From the chart, I saw a very very bullish formation was formed previously.
However, the recent plunged has spoiled the formation.
Anyhow, Mieco is still well support by the Fibonacci support, so let's see how next week.

I see, a franchise huh? That is one very ambitious grand strategy.
But I'd hope that the Dream deputy in Sign will tone down a bit. I mean, why does one wanna add salt to wounds on other investors? It wouldn't be fun if it's the other way right? That's why I would never do that.

But seriously, thanks for the offer on Nova, but I'm still doing well on Sign even if it dropped so much. Selling a share I've research so much equals to selling a business I know well, and I don't think that's the right thing to do. Just like you are loyal to your Novamsc, I'm loyal to my stocks too.

Though our stocks and path differs, our principle is almost the same, that's what I appreciate about your good qualities.

Keep up the good work my friend. Keep living, keep dreaming, that's the way life is supposed to be.

Cause I saw some unknown person in Sign forum misusing "Dream's" name barking, but I'm was confident it wasn't you, right? You are such nice person after all, that's why I come here and complain to you.

Sign? Thanks for the concern my friend. But here's the thing, I brought 10 oranges, but one of them are spoiled. Should I get upset? I don't think so.
And what's best, I brought the orange cheap, would I scare it fall further? I don't think so.

You must first understand their business model first.
Their projects department which rely on order books only takes up to 70% of the profits. 30% remaining are generated through retail selling.

If you see it this way, 150mil can last them at least for next year. Let's not forget they've already tendered for more order books. It's a matter of timing only.

Stock

2015-11-24 16:58 | Report Abuse

Unfortunately, there's no way to tell the future, and it applies to all stocks in the world. (Otherwise everyone will become millionaire every day.)

From what I've learnt about the company is that, they have tendered a lot of projects down the road. How many projects got approved to them, that one is out of their control.

Even w/o new order book, the company currently still have order book of 150 million, sufficient for now.

Yes, market is overreacted to Sign.
Sign's this quarter net profit only falls 20%, read with me "20 freaking percentage only".
Which is not as bad as many actually thought it is.
Sign is already undervalued from the beginning anyway, with good fundamentals on free cash flow, current ratio, etc etc.
So I think the drop is most likely due to overreaction, or because of some funds overreacted and exited. (Knowledge: Funds manager have a responsibility to cut non-performing stocks during end of the year to make their portfolio looks nice).

Brought some Mieco recently & joining boat. Pleased to meet you all.

Why Mieco?
1. If you've brought Hevea before, you'll the similarity between them - their power to repay debt is great. Basically in a nutshell, Mieco is another mini Hevea.

2. Still cheap according to it's Graham Number & DCF valuation.

3. Many missed this - The Directors wish to report that the relocation of the Group’s Semambu plant is well under way according to the timeline set with the first phase comprising construction of a new warehouse building and relocation of existing melamine impregnation line, anticipated to be completed by year end. Basically, more capacity to be utilized soon.

These are just the few of the many reasons to buy Mieco by the way.

Moving towards a new financial year 2016, the Group expected to continue its growth in all business segments locally and internationally. With an unbilled order book of RM150 million and the continuous effort to replenish existing order book the Group is expected to achieve satisfactory performance from its project division, which has been the strong pillar of growth for the Group.

While on the retail segment, the Group will continue to set up Signature Lifestyle Gallery to cater to the rising market of new property development as well as the signature display of cabinetry, appliances and finishes that makes up the Signature touch.

Barring any unforeseen circumstances, the Board is confident it will continue to deliver satisfactory performance in this coming financial year and is ready to maintain its dominance in the kitchen cabinet industry

Stock

@hyteo1992 - Negative premium means the warrant is trading at a discount to mother share.
To further understand this, let me give you an example:

Example:
Hevea Mother: 1.50
Hevea Warrants: 1.20
Conversion Price: 25 cents.

1.20 + 0.25 = 1.45

From this, you can understand that even after the warrant's conversion, the value is at 1.45 while the mother is 1.50, which is a gain. This is defined as discount.
In most cases, warrant with long expiry like Hevea's usually has premium, and not discount.

Chill guys, just my 2 cents.
Valuation is an art. Everyone have their own method of valuating a stock.
Some uses DCF, some uses EV/EBIT, while some uses PE Ratio or Price to Book.
There's no right or wrong. So let's not argue, alright?

What matters most is that no matter which valuation method you use, as long as you make money then all is good. Agree?

Just my 2 cent opinion, actually, no need to be so complicated.
Why? Because complicated does not mean effective. Especially in investing, you'd want to be as simple as possible, otherwise you'll have hard time keeping track of the companies you buy.

I suggest just use Cold Eye's 5 yardsticks, it's a simple but effective method.

If you want, you can add an additional few stuff like DCF and EV/EBIT, and a few, but that's all.

Homeriz fell because too much of expectation is build upon it. It fell short of expectation.
With the recently bonus issue + free warrant, Homeriz PER is 15x times, it's warrant is also grossly overvalue, while the net profit for the year has only grown +6%.
The growth does not justify the high valuation, hence explains the fall.

Hevea on the other hand, YTD has grown +91%.
