Dear @Bullish,

No one analyses Cash flow from operations is RM 530 M ( B4 changes in working capital). In running a business, you need to take working cap into acc too right? As you can see, the company invested back RM190m into the hydropower project and another RM708m repaying debts. Paying more dividends would be like taking a loan to pay shareholders. Although i agree they should come out with a dividend policy soon to attract investors' interest.

Directors are also like ordinary investors, will take profit when the time is right. They are also like every other human, who needs money. Fortune 500 will take years. Can you delay your spending for years? This article seems prejudiced against TG

Seems like Harta wants to be a gentleman in this covid-era by not raising prices aggressively?

Their miserable retained earnings might not be sufficient for a bonus issue, but how about a share split? No retained earnings requirement. With a share price higher than TG and Supermax but with lower profits, it is obvious which share investors would choose right?

Instead about arguing how many gloves a doctor use to administer vaccine, the more sustainable demand would be before a patient goes for a surgery, covid-19 test is necessary. Remember the case when a patient lied, causing all the doctors & nurses to be quarantined? When they do Covid-19 tests, need gloves or not?

Yes share prices of gloves might not be as high once the vaccines are out, but it will not fall back to the pre-covid19 levels.

Good point from freetospeak:-

no doctor will want carry the responsibilty of being accused of cross contamination especially during pandemic ...if there is enuff gloves no doc will try to save gloves. why they wan to take the risk.

Hospitals and doctors will get sued for medical negligence if they don't change their gloves or reuse. Do you think doctors will take this risk? After all, they wear, then charge the patients only. Get warded in hospitals, they even charge you for toilet rolls man!

Using Topglov-C84 as illustration:-

Current price of C84: RM0.735
Exercise Ratio : 20
Exercise Price : RM18

Breakeven : RM0.735 x 20 + RM18 = RM32.70
Closing price of Mother = RM25.88
Premium: 26.35% (RM32.70/RM25.88)

After BI:
Current price of C84: RM0.735
Exercise Ratio : 20/3 = 6.67
Exercise Price : RM18/3 = RM6

Breakeven : RM0.735 x 6.67 + RM6 = RM10.90
Closing price of Mother = RM25.88/3 = RM8.62
Premium: 26.35% (RM10.90/RM8.62)

Premium remains the same, hence post BI the price of CW should still be the same.

The question is, for how many quarters?

In regards to the barriers of entry, yes the gloves industry looks good.
You are well aware that setting up factory, production line and approvals for exports could easily take up more than a year. Who would risk setting up a factory when Covid 19 could have just ended in less than a year, before the factory is completed? Besides, gloves is a volume game, you do need that economies of scale. Who in their right mind would want to compete with the Big 4, given that their costs are like USD 0.06c a piece? Are new entrants confident that they can beat that price? Plus the oversupply in a few years time will bring down ASP that will hurt new entrant's margin even further.

@probability According to https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/, Brazil's population is No 6 in the world, so probably this is one of the reason.

Plus according to Hartalega's 2018 AGM Slides, the gloves consumption per capita in Brazil is at 32, ranks at bottom 6, only above Romania (30), Philippines (10), China (6), Indonesia (4), and India (2). For comparison, Netherlands ranks top at 276, followed by Denmark (259) and US (250).

Imagine the growth potential!

In Supermax's 2019 Annual Report, the only investment in associate which is not impaired is Supermax Brasil Importadora S/A whose principal activity is Marketing, importing and distributing latex gloves with a stake of 50%.

Unfortunate news for Brazil, but good for Supermax. Share of profit in associates also increased 2.7 times in the latest Q3 from RM1.675m to RM4.575m which is assumed to be from the Brazil associate.

I wonder the same about inventory gains as well, as under MFRS inventory is recognised at lower of cost or net realisable value, not fair value. Hence inventory gains will only be reflected in the form of higher margins. Correct me if I am wrong.

I also dont understand how rising crude oil is a good news( other than inv gains) , as it is a raw material for refiners. Can anyone explain?
