KUALA LUMPUR (April 7): Amanat Lebuhraya Rakyat Bhd's (ALR) proposed takeover of the four highway concessionaires linked to Gamuda Bhd is expected to conclude in end May or early June this year, according to Gamuda deputy group managing director Mohammed Rashdan Mohd Yusof.

The RM5.48 billion offer by ALR was officially received by the holding companies of the concession holders on April 2.

Speaking to The Edge in an interview on Wednesday (April 6), Rashdan said Gamuda is looking to conduct the extraordinary general meeting (EGM) in the third week of May to seek approval from its shareholders.

“Once we get the green light from shareholders, then the week after that they (ALR) can issue the sukuk and pay us (Gamuda)... hopefully by end-May or early June,” he said.

The exercise will also require the approval of bondholders of the concessionaires. It is understood that ALR is also seeking to have the same bondholders subscribe to its sukuk that will be issued to fund the acquisition.

After the proposed dividend and capital repayment, $878 mil (1,200 mil - $322 mil) is retained and left idling . Pls tell us what existing business of mphb require cash standby of $878 mil to cushion economic crisis. Total revenue ex insurance sales is not even $50 mil a year !

Toyo owes one of the major shareholders more than RM300 millions for the power plant project. Toyo has no means of paying back !

The insider who is dumping was the CEO of toyo. He was not re-elected during the last AGM. Why do you think he was not re-elected ? The answer should be obvious..... He failed to get the power plant going.

Most people are impatient and tend to sell out at the early stages of major rallies. You seldom see volume of more than 40m for this stock. There is no guarantee that the rally will continue but if you are not willing to count on it, how else can you make big money ?

Jaks is too cheap to sell at this level. Playing ding dong will win you some money but not a lot. Big money is made when you buy and hold for big gains.

I do not always take fair valuation as the TP. Just look around, how many stocks are trading at fair valuations. Most are rather trading at way under or over the academic valuations.

Sslee, too bad DK is not here to provide the explanation. I was initially puzzled by his profit taking call as the sentiment was superb then but he provided strong and valid reasons for his call, so I took his advice. He did mention RM1.50 as his fair value derivation from DCF valuation which is long term in nature. So, perhaps RM1.50 is a long term valuation. I m not sure. Maybe you could email DK himself.

Anyway, we are on our own now. I still have faith in Jaks and that is why I have started accumulating slowly

Sslee, DK's first TP is 2.50 (pre adjustment for PP & rights), he said that 0.80 now is equivalent to almost RM2.80 pre adjustment price. He wrote an article for his group exclusively to explain the rationale for profit protection. His group benefited from his advice but not so fortunate for the i3 public forum.

Those who have taken his advice to take profit at RM0.80 should be having easy life now.

DK was brave to contradict management guidance for JHDP of just RM80m by giving a substantially higher forecast. Many was laughing him off. Now that his forecast comes true within 20% variation, he should be credited for his works. Well done DK !
