There is hardly any risk in investing LCC airlines like Air Asia but only uncertainty with respect to exactly when the full recovery of air travels will happen. Now the best time to invest or trade Air Asia. Full service airlines will recover slower and most likely will not be like prependamic assuming some biz can be done on line, cheaper and convenient. Pent up demand of leisure travels will greatly benefit LCC especially those airlines that manage to survive as there will be less competition and lower costs of operation.

Ranhill will make profit from improving the operation of IWK through it experience and expertise. In addition Ranhill will reap the benefit from the economy of scale.
Based on its existing business without IWK, the company is fairly undervalued. IWK will be an excellent bonus though.

Don't worry as the company at current prices is still undervalued as some investors may misunderstand its business. Directors/major shareholders had been buying at prices above RM 1.00 in much earlier time this year even in the deep of the pandemic.

Ranhill is the most logical company to take over the running of Indah Water from the government as it has proven track records of operating and managing water supplies and waste water both locally and overseas.
Any how, water supply and sewage should, in the first place, be managed in an integrated way, not separately to be effective and efficient.

In investing we look to the future, at least 6 months or more. The past and the present can only be used as a guide at best. We all know that there will still the need to use airlines for traveling and therefore there will be airlines that exist to cater for this need in the coming future.
Once sky is open to flying, there will certainly be huge pent up demand for air line travels especially for leisure and tourism, non business sector, as many businesses can still be conducted on line.
Hence the low cost carriers will first and the most to benefit from soon opening of the sky.
Air Asia being the best if not one of the best low cost carriers will very likely to survive compared to the others. Those airlines that manage to survive will reap huge benefit.

One more thing. The debts for such concession projects are normally non recourse and ring fenced around the projects so no exposure to risk on the debts to Cypark holding co.

Some people questioned about the lack of cash in despite the good profits. This is a fair worry in normal company operation but in the case of Cypark many of its projects falled under service concession agreement with the government. The accounting treatments for such projects may show profits even during the construction phase before project completion. So such projects may show accounting profits but may not show cash comping in. But nothing to worry. Lots of cash will come in later during operation.

The previous extremely low prices were due to sell down by major shareholders and directors and reissue of ESOS at unreasonably low price of 59.5 sen only. The fundamental biz of Cypark is ok and in the right growing sector of environment and green energy.
2020-11-20 20:19 | Report Abuse
Cypark biz requires heavy capital investments for projects with robust contracted incomes for up to 21 years. So high gearing is very normal for such biz. An IPP projects for example will have a high gearing of 80/20 to 75/25. Since the incomes from such projects with long term contracted off takes are robust, the risk of failure is rather minimum. Therefore the issue of financing such projects is not a problem at all.
Cypark had recently issued a green sukuk to finance their projects in additions to it's normal bank borrowings. With the current lower interest rates on borrowings, companies with large borrowings for financing viable and profitable projects will in addition benefit greatly from lower cost of financing.

Nothing to worry Air Asia will have a bright future. There will be less competitors around and huge pent up demand to travel. Low cost carriers such as Air Asia will flourish. Premium airlines that cater to business travels however will not fully recover post pandemic as some businesses can still be conducted on line but not tourism or leisure travels. The only uncertainty is when. How far in the future. Remember when investing we look forward to the future at least 6 months or more, not the past.
