CGS-CIMB Research has maintained its “add” rating of MyEG Services Bhd, with an unchanged target price (TP) of RM1.80, as it sees the government allowing businesses to rehire foreign workers as a positive for the group’s job-matching business prospects.

CGS-CIMB said it had gathered that MyEG completed 100,000 Covid-19 tests booked via the portal since its launch in early-June. The company targets to carry out 500,000 test screenings this year.

The brokerage said although the polymer spread fell from its peak of US$640 per tonne in end-March, the present spread of US$550 per tonne is “still profitable” for LCTH.
PETALING JAYA: Lotte Chemical Titan Holding Bhd (LCTH) is likely to be profitable in the second half of this year (2H20) given the product spread is still healthy and profitable for the group, Maybank IB Research said.
The brokerage said although the polymer spread fell from its peak of US$640 per tonne in end-March, the present spread of US$550 per tonne is “still profitable” for LCTH.
“We think the spread could gradually soften from August on lower plant turnaround activities in the region and China-led new supply.
“Additionally, plant utilisation rate in the second half of this year would be stable at around 85%. The next turnaround activity will take place in July 2021, ” it noted.
Meanwhile, Maybank IB Research expects that LCTH’s earnings for the third quarter ending Sept 30,2020 (3Q20) be weaker quarter-on-quarter in the absence of the substantial inventory write-back.
“We maintain our earnings forecasts for the financial years (FY) ending Dec, 31,2020, to 2022 and expect a profitable 2H20 as the present spread is still healthy.
“Our target price is retained at RM2.10, which is based on an unchanged two times enterprise value to earnings before interest and taxes based on FY21, ” it said.
The core net profit for 2Q20 was RM150mil excluding the unrealised forex loss of RM63mil, which was a sharp rebound from core net loss of RM222mil in 1Q20.
“This brought 1H20 core net loss to RM72mil and was within our forecast as we expect a profitable 2H20, ” Maybank IB Research said.
Meanwhile, the research house is keeping a “hold” call on Lotte as the near-term earnings could be unexciting, but the stock has deep value with its FY21E price-to-book value ratio at 0.4 times.

QES Group – 2020 General Meeting of Shareholders
The global semiconductor industry was hit by the Sino-US trade war in the second half of 2019. Due to its heavy dependence on the automotive industry, performance will inevitably be affected, but this year's Q1 performance has shown potential for improvement. Dependence, and can improve the continuity of the inflow of orders.
Distribution business accounts for 80-85% of overall revenue, and the main suppliers are Spectrum, Nikon and Hitachi. There are two types of income, namely selling machines and providing after-sales maintenance services. It is planned to increase the contribution ratio of continuous service to 20-25%. The gross profit margins of the distribution and manufacturing operations are 20-25% and 30-35%, respectively.
However, it is difficult to break into the ecosystem of other countries by relying solely on distribution, so it was decided to actively expand the manufacturing business. Even so, never thought that the contribution of the manufacturing business would surpass the distribution business. It is worth mentioning that we will not manufacture products that conflict with products that are distributed, but will manufacture complementary products.
Most customers are multinational groups, and they never use leasing. In many cases, customers will request a special payment period, and let them use the machine first, instead of trying it out before buying. It still takes time to prove part of the machine.
Last year, a sales of more than 3 million yuan was replaced, mainly because customers encountered difficulties in payment. For the sake of profit, I decided to take back some machines and refurbish them and sell them to other customers. This situation does not happen often, and we still maintain a good relationship with them.
As of March this year, I have an order of nearly RM15m. The impact of the epidemic on the business is limited, and orders still harvested in the past few months will be delivered in the next few months. The current capacity utilization rate is close to 80%.
Plans to further expand the manufacturing business to the Chinese and Taiwanese markets. At this stage, there is still no office building in the local area, but the local market is explored through partners. In this way, Vietnam's economic growth has also maintained good, after all, it is rarely affected by the trade war, so it is expected to benefit from it.
Having a team of software engineers in Penang is involved in R&D activities, and hopes to develop in-house cutting-edge technologies soon. The core advantage lies in having a strong distribution network, but also a clear understanding of customer needs.
Try to design 4 new machines to be more automated to reduce dependence on manual operations. Once successfully assisting customers in automating business processes, the same success can be replicated on other customers in the future, which can increase turnover. There are no orders in 2019. Since 2020, 2 units have been sold to Germany and 2 units to Taiwan.
Driven by 5G technology, the global semiconductor industry is growing faster and faster, and both manufacturing and distribution businesses are expected to benefit from it. The performance of Penta and Vitrox in recent years has not been overnight, and even grown up since childhood. Supported by sustained income and diversified markets, QES is also in a good growth position at this stage.
In conclusion, QES's performance in recent years is only satisfactory, and it is still difficult to make major breakthroughs. Although the semiconductor industry continues to grow, it may not be easy to replicate the success of Penta and Vitrox. Individuals cannot see growth momentum for the time being, and they have no investment value.

KUALA LUMPUR: Test equipment maker Pentamaster Corp Bhd is ramping up production, amid strong demand from customers in the telecommunication sector after posting a weaker second quarter results.
The company, in a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, said its performance in the three-month ended June 30 was affected by the global supply chain disruption due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Net profit in the latest quarter declined 13% to RM17mil, as revenue fell 14.6% to RM103mil.
Pentamaster said logistic and travelling restrictions imposed by countries worldwide in the second quarter has led to operation disruptions for the Group that has essentially delayed its projects delivery timeline.
"This has impacted the Group’s financial and operating results given the Group’s business nature and its accounting treatment," it said.
But as restrictions started to ease significantly since June, the company is making good progress across its business operations.
"The group is expected to stage a positive second half 2020 recovery," it said. "Currently, the Group is now back to its current 100% workforce run-rate with an aggressive production ramp up."
Against the pervasive uncertainty for the rest of the year, Pentamaster continues to see several growth catalysts driving its business momentum.
"The demand level from customers within the telecommunications sector remains robust owing to the Group’s broadening exposure in the optoelectronics ecosystem and 3D sensing technology," it said.
Meanwhile, the Group’s automotive segment portfolio has broadened with product diversification to cater for the fast-growing electric vehicle industry.
Pentamaster is also expanding its foothold in the medical devices segment, post-acquisition of TP Concept Sdn. Bhd, a company which is involved in the designing and manufacturing of single-use medical devices.
