Solution Group targets to commence vaccine F&F facility by 2Q 2021

Solution Group Bhd is targeting to commence operation of a vaccine fill and finish (F&F) facility by the second quarter of 2021 (Q2 2021) or within a month of the facility’s successful establishment.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, Solution Group said the setting up of the F&F facility is expected to be completed within four to six months from the commencement of work.

“As at the date of this announcement, the company is awaiting approval for the facility’s design plan from the National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (NPRA) and has yet to commence work for the said facility,” it said.

China Sinopharm's coronavirus vaccine taken by a million people in emergency use

No serious adverse reaction has been reported from those who received the vaccine in emergency use, Sinopharm said in an article on social media WeChat, citing Chairman Liu Jingzhen from a recent media interview.

Two vaccine candidates developed by Sinopharm's subsidiary China National Biotec Group (CNBG) and third one developed by Sinovac Biotech have been used for the emergency programme.

Kanger ropes in more collaborators to help distribute Covid-19 vaccines

Kanger International Bhd has roped in Zuellig Pharma Sdn Bhd and K-Star Sport Ltd to collaborate on the distribution of Covid-19 vaccines in Malaysia.

The vaccine and other products are developed by state-owned China National Pharmaceutical Group Corp (Sinopharm).

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, Kanger said it has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Zuellig Pharma, the largest vaccine distributor in Malaysia and in Asia, to facilitate the import, warehousing and distribution of Covid-19 vaccines in Malaysia.

Separately, Kanger announced that it has also entered into an MoU with K-Star to appoint the latter as the sales agent of Covid-19 vaccines for private clinics in Malaysia.

Kanger said both MoUs will add value to the group as it is now focused on expanding its business into the healthcare industry, which includes the distribution of Covid-19 vaccines, and is looking for a well-established logistics and distribution provider.

Kanger had previously announced on Sept 22 that it will be the distributor of Covid-19 vaccines and medical equipment products in Malaysia for China-based Sinopharm Group Hunan Changde Medical Co Ltd (SGHC).

Sinopharm is the largest and oldest biotech company in China and currently has Covid-19 vaccines under Phase 3 trials.
