Matrix, you are my master on chart interpretation. You read Weida's chart much better than me. From my perspective, it can re-test 1.80 and surpass it within the next week (just my estimation). The gravestone doji on 25/10 followed with a white marubuzo today, could signal a bullish start.
My only concern is there doesn't seems to be any consistent follow through volume. But at least, sellers are exhausting. I have been eyeing this counter recently because it is trading way below its value. It is a fundamentally very strong company. I have set my trailing stop at 1.71.
Please feel free to correct me it you find any part of my interpretation is inaccurate. I am still on a steep learning curve. Lets add more money with this counter.

Matrix, went into Weida too. Sold off all my Engtex to lock in profits. Will consider taking fresh position with Engtex again when the price retraces.

citytrader, I believe you use the Fibonacci Retracement a lot. I think this is a very useful tool but I am not good at it. How do you decide where to place the swing low and high for a counter that keeps trending higher and higher? Thanks.

Matrix, I am also monitoring Weida closely and AZRB is also on my radar. I have not entered these 2 counters yet as I am trading almost at my maximum counters. So, I will be locking in profits in the coming week to pare down my counters before taking positions in these 2.

Matrix, my take on Lien Hoe - The counter is moving side way on low volume,70% below its average volume, with a bearish undertone. It made an unsuccessful attempt to break its resistance price of 0.345 on 24/10. Its parabolic indicator indicates a downtrend with a support price of 0.325. It is currently trading with SMA 50 below SMA 150. For the year ended 30/6/2013, its basic EPS is -0.22 sen and it operated with losses of 759,000.

htyeap125, great demand to yr notes. I thought it was very unselfish of you to share the TA notes. Thank you for unselfishly sharing.
To add further, on youtube, there are also some useful videos on TAs but it would require patience and time to search through them. It would complement the notes that htyeap mails out.

Fundamentally, this is a good counter to hold irregardless of whether it is moving to the main board or not.

I have stopped using brokers and I now trade online based on my own research and technical charts analysis. Messi is right - brokers are just order takers. The least they could have done is to provide important information to their clients but even this they can't do.
Instead, in the past, some of my brokers asked me back where I got the tip from or why I am buying a particular counter. Sadly, i have yet to meet one good broker and I have dealt with several investment banks. These days, I trade online and I deal only with one of my bank's investment manager who is helpful and gives me useful critical information when I ask for it.

Next resistance to take out is 1.46 before it can trend higher.

Matrix, on Tebrau - doji and MACD crossover on 10/10 indicate uptrend and the uptrend is confirmed by the SMA 12 crossover SMA 25 on 17/10. The 1st resistance it needs to take out is at 1.45 before trending up further. The uptrend is also supported with increased volume. Average volume for the past 5 days is 1.22 times the average volume. But will need to pay attention on the momentum of the counter. Please correct my reading of the chart.
Tsurukame, thanks for highlighting Tebrau.

Kcchongnz, TTB has been called as a hero and the oracle of Bursa by people? This is something new to me. He is well known and I don't dislike him, but to me, he is just another analyst and fund manager. Not someone I would sit up and trade based on his recommendation. Not the Soros, Buffet type of personality.

Matrix, thanks for the reminder for a trailing stop. City Trader is right - all of us admire your life. Make lots of money and travel a lot. Ah, how nice. Lunch, dinner and supper in different countries.
I agree with hiddengem. FA + TA works well together. For me its 20% FA and 80% TA. I still calculate the intrinsic value and stuff like that as my background check and then use TA to time the buying and selling.
Yeah, I really learnt a lot from Matrix who is ever willing to answer my questions. Actually, in investing, besides the technical knowledge and other basic skills, the biggest stumbling block preventing investors from making more profits is the emotion factor - fear, greed, herd mentality and others which sometimes I am also guilty of. But then again, we are all humans.
Have a good weekend to everyone and have a profitable week ahead in the market.

IWalk, there may be some political influence but not major. This is one counter foreign funds like because of its huge order book. But when foreign funds pull out from the country, you can see SKP's price falling as well.

Thanks Matrix for the clarification. I have taken fresh positions with Engtex again after clearing off everything weeks ago.
Really happy that you are making money on MPHBCap. You are most welcome. I have still not lock in any profits yet but I will be locking in profits from 1.80 onwards. I suppose you can now continue to enjoy your holiday to the fullest fully sponsored by MPHBCaps. he he he. Cheers.

Val-Elta, depends on counter, momentum and your own risk appetite. Some people target 30% gain or 10% in your case and don't look back even if the counter flies. I usually sell when the price reverse 3% to 5% from its peak but need to monitor the charts closely. Also, sometimes the peak may not be the real peak. It could climb higher after consolidation but it doesn't matter because we can always re-enter the counter when the signals arise.
There is no right or wrong way to sell. Most importantly, we must make money and feel happy about the gains. Better to make 10% than to lose 10%.

Matrix, great to see your posting. I am currently monitoring Perisai. It has broken out from what I believe to be a descending flag formation on 11/10. MACD crossed over on 9/10 although its SMA (12) is trading slightly below SMA (25).

With the sudden surge in volume and price on 10 Oct, I think investors are adopting a wait and see to ascertain that it is not a false breakout. Based on the chart and subject to further confirmation, I think the potential up trend is sustainable.

Ben is right. Most people buy but don't sell to lock in profits. And TA helps. Some people have a pre-set profit objective when they buy a share like they will sell once the price advance 20% or 30% and they do not look back if the price shoots up further. Or another technique would be to sell when there is a 5% to 10% reversal from the high price that the share hit. And there may be many other selling techniques out there. It all depends on your own risk profile and your trading strategy.

The gap up formed today suggest a bullish run on this counter backed by an extremely high volume with a support price of 0.415 sen. The MACD crossover was on 9/10 also indicating a bullish trend.

2013-10-09 14:02 | Report Abuse
Metta, I have sold off all of my Engtex at 1.40 yesterday to lock in profits because of the US uncertainty. I think this counter will be range bound at the current level. For how long, i do not know.
Some banks are calling buys on water related counters and there are also speculation that it will hit close to RM2 by year end. However, from experience, i always take such comments with a pinch of salt. I rather follow what the chart says, although I am still on a steep learning curve with technicals. Personally, this is a good counter with good fundamentals and if I am not mistaken, they have some manufacturing facilities that are near completion which will add to their production output. I will re-enter this counter when there is a reversal to another bullish run. This is my 3rd entry and exit from this counter.
MPHB Cap - this is also a fundamentally good counter. I am not in a position to say if it is worth entering but Matrix has raised concern on the divergence and a potential correction. My own TP is 1.80.
Matrix, I have always like Xian, although rather dusty but its history is fascinating. The females there are good looking too, apparently descendants of concubines. Cheers.

Metta, I have sold off some of my Engtex and am still holding on with some more. I believe it will hover between 1.35 to 1.41 for the time being. But please bear in mind of the impending US debt ceiling crisis which could trigger some short term panic sell. I may liquidate all of my Engtex if it starts trending lower to about 1.37 this week and look for opportunity to enter again at a later stage.

Chart wise, the gap up is a good sign of another bullish rise. If the immediate resistance of 1.62 is taken out, it will scale higher to test new highs.
2013-10-07 10:12 | Report Abuse
I agree with Citytrader. Inari may not drop. Personally, I don't think it will drop back below RM1 with an immediate resistance of 1.01. It is taking a breather at the moment. The only negative factor that will halt the uptrend temporarily would be the US debt situation. Note: these are my personal views.

Fortunebull, just a piece of advice. You need to evaluate the share yourself and then decide whether to trade in it or not based your own time frame for holding the shares and based on your own risk appetite. KC may suggest some counters based on his evaluation and if we choose to follow his recommendations and we lose money, then we ourselves take the blame.
So, I don't think its fair that you criticize him or anyone for that matter. (By the way, I have not read KC's recommendations and neither do I know him)
But do bear in mind that some fundamentally good shares may trend down in the short term but they will find its way back to its worth, i.e. its intrinsic value, in the medium to long term.

Matrix, thanks for comments. How do you usually set your trailing stops? I usually take a very arbitrary calculation of about 3% to 5% off the highest price. Don't know if this is a good way of doing it.

ooi1955, it can be very painful initially when you cut losses. All investors go through that feeling including myself. But once you appreciate the big picture, i.e. maximize profits most of the time and minimize losses, your total profits will engulf your total losses. Short term pain for long tern gain.

Janicelove, its your call on Lien Hoe whether to enter or stay away.
Choolooi, you know, just like your MYEG, I was caught with Censof but I am worse off. You wouldn't want to know how long I have had it. I even had their bonus issue. When I bought it back then, I did not trade using the chart and I had no exit plan for it and here I am still hanging on to it. Lesson learnt.
Good thing, it is in the limelight now because of the GST and the Time Eng take over. I bought some more sometime back at 41 sen trying to salvage whatever I can. You know, i was even prepared to keep these shares for any future grand children! Not anymore. I am gonna sell them at the right price.
