Too many small disposals every time price looks to go up….need foreign institutions to invest Malaysia institutions are net sellers…also too many shares held by owner…but no doubt it will move soon

On reflection the results are positive…given the hit the sector has taken and no doubt the indicators are positive. It is matter of one’s expectation …..at current rate of improvement 3rd qtr should will show move to black with full year confirming the change in trend. Share price will be rerated.

Malaysia judicial system can be proud of itself….li can quote many countries where the judicial system is corrupt and not worthy….including countries often assumed to have a robust system like U.K. As to other Asian countries …Malaysia by this verdict stands out. Pakistan for example has been ruled by corrupt familes of Nawaz sharif and Zardari and have court convictions but SC has not been able and willing to pass justice for the people

Key question is is Genting going to report profit or a loss? That is the key! Singapore has disappointed let’s see what Malaysia reports and the US? Genting management are poor in keeping shareholders informed ….of the progress

By the way lowest bidder does not guarantee that you get the contract. There are more things to it. Gamuda no doubt are very experienced and have significant experience. My only concern is that whether they have E the resources given that that they have been very successful in winning contracts. Lets keep fingers crossed…should know soon.

Good set of 3rd QTR results…..slightly better than expectations. Recovery post covid is well established.

Also the US Institution plays games with simple lot and make lot of money in the process….let me tell you all US is where the correction starts and ends others just follow. Genting not performing is due to nature of investors here without EPF investment most shares don’t do anything we have many who sell on small gains …..look at US real retail and institutional investors….Penn US gambling stock is performing where as Genting who has operations there is lost in all the speculation ..confused investors one minute it is TauRX then it something else …..still patience is needed but can’t see consistent upward unless we get it listed in US?

Income guy is probably without income…negative baseless crap he talks is not what an investor forum is about. The fact is Genting is a recovery stock in a market that is bearish. The worst is over for Genting and add to this TauRX potential then we have a possibility of major uplift in the medium term with low probability of price going lower!

After distribution the share price will adjust by the amount distributed, however after it should being in to go up as Gamuda wins new contracts which will replace the revenue lost from sale of concession. The revenues from concession were fixed so in principle taking into account inflation it is better to sell a fixed fee business and use the monies to invest in winning other projects.

Genting is very good value….not withstanding TauRX…..it’s traditional business is on a improving trend. Chairman sold shares because he is investing in ships ..perfectly ok…his exposure remains high. When global markets settle down Genting will be 6 plus

Gamuda is good value, shows it’s capability by winning off shore contracts in a competitive market. Deserves much higher rating ….it will happen matter of time. Meanwhile investors can get income from dividend and wait for new contracts …

Jokers ..the global market are under pressure…so what do you expect from Genting? I still think worst is over for them. US print money, they have the biggest deficit in the world…they print and borrow money, issue IOU and they get away with it..because we have to business trade using USD! Very strange comments form some on this forum. Chairman ones large quantities of shares in the company and sells less than 0.50% and panic is created. People don’t realise shares were sold for a purpose …and we know the purpose ….to invest in Cruise business …so why surprised! Timing might a bit an issue, otherwise perfectly ok. Some would say the TauRX announcements were engineered? To me nothing has changed in terms of potential returns with or without TauRX. TauRX expectations totally unrealistic and mismanaged in terms of expectations …..some expecting unrealistically positive outcome immediately…the fact is there is positive progress and support from various bodies but to get approval it will take time subject final results…

Shares sales by chairman is immaterial compared to his holding is not as bad as it looks and is of very little significance. I also was of the opinion that the TauRX trials whilst encouraging will take time to get regulatory approval. The price correction is an opportunity to increase holding. The 2nd half results should show much improvement and 3rd quarter will be even better….

So what is the prediction tomorrow up or down? I say down by Friday, close and I will be increasing my holding. I can’t see much progress by Friday as some folks are expecting….

There is a pattern, small investors or traders sell out and end of the day the bigger investors are buying ….also please note tomorrow nothing is going to happen! The conference is in U.K. 8 hours ahead or is a conference discussing many things …including the test data for the trials and perhaps some indication and justification for seeking approval….THATS ALL…..WE WILL KNOW about these trials and discussions probably Friday or over the weekend. So nothing like company announcement etc will happen. The buying we are seeing in Genting is because improvement is expected and price rising without considering TauRX. Manage your expectations please.

Sale should have been completed! We should soon get to know how much is set aside for special div…I reckon 20-30 cents per share is a possibility! Giving it a current value around 3.84.

Dialog proposed acquisition is positive, given the oil play that is taking place. Yet there is not much coverage…the share price current undervalued …due for big positive move.

Quite amazing, 1-2% rise and small holders disposing that means they have no trust in Gentings potential. Genting price before CV was higher than now and we have Las Vegas and Genting resorts new additions in play as well we know CV has been pretty much addressed and peole are travelling…..so financials should improve dramatically going forward, co I E this with NTA of 8.60 and speculative play in Alzheimer’s drug….suggest the risk reward heavily in favour of investing…6.50 + without TauRX is easily feasible…! Question to ask though is how is 20% investment in associate co currently valued at? If drug gets approval than anything is possible if US allows it ….they are very protective.

The retailers sell when they few bucks or 1-2 % movement by the looks of it….until we dump these short term penny profit takers the price movement is going to up and down.

I note some old articles are being circulated dating back to 2019….it is promising however getting US approval is not straight forward…there is lot money involved and stakeholders …have vested interest. US does not like competition …..unless it is going to make money.

We are really dreaming of you think you will know if the drug has approval on 9th June. There will be further discussion and update on the status …..please manage your expectations ……approval will come later if the trial results merit seeking approval.

Patience is a virtue……even without Alzheimer’s drug approval….Genting will out perform 2nd and 3rd qtr for sure ……..lot of crap being raised by the usual negative lot…..just wait and see.

No brainer ……strong case to invest in Genting ….but long weekend will bring selling pressure as small holders sell for spending money! Any correction is an opportunity to add.

At current price level, the risk / reward favours investment even without the drug outcome being favourable. Genting price will recover well past 6 mark when it’s core activities and markets pick up. If you then add the remote probability of the the drug being successful then any thing is possible. So the risk is worth taking for a significant uplift in price if the drug receives approval and is successful. To me reading the trial,results suggest that it is not totally unrealistic for the outcome to be positive.

Seen massive sale volume suggesting that investors are only interested in market hype rather than true potential of GB recovery prospects. I for one more interested in GB recovery in 2nd and 3rd quarter. Time to accumulate.

Malaysian stock market needs GE to happen so that there is some degree of stability and certainty going
forward…..a Govt with strong majority is a must. What are waiting for?

There is huge pent up demand for travel and leisure activities world wide! In U.K. BA and other airlines have to cancel over 2000 scheduled flights this week! All due to lack of manpower, in other words hugE demand was not foreseen. Some hOtels are operating on 95% capacity! Just imagine what lies ahead for Genting given their exposure to these markets! Selling short term gains does not make sense in stocks like these. Ali Baba and Rolls Royce is in same category of recovery stocks. Of course nothing is guaranteed, but at least there is valid justification.

I don’t know what the fuss is about the new drug trials….the fact is Genting is potentially a very good buy given that full recovery is expected and general market condition compared to last year and current market correction in May.

I can see CIMB attracting foreign funds. Going forward if no more shocks price could reach pre Corona Virus levels and beyond

Very good results in my opinion. I think the numbers will be even better for 2nd Qtr onwards. Improving economy suggests banks will prosper and CIMB will outperform given their issues with bad loans

Genting plantation have doubled their profits compared to last quarter!

Plantations profits more than doubled 1 QTR, 2022, though revenue slightly down. Good set of results so far! We can now look forward to Malaysia Berhad, and US, results. Group results tomorrow?
