Those inside the industry know KNM and Sapura are not in the same situation at all. KNM performance in OnG industry had been rubbish with many problems, meanwhile Sapura still thriving with well respected performances, and OnG operators see Sapura as the most reliable EPC company in Malaysia (unlike KNM).

No worries..I work in oil and gas industry, this company won't go burst easily. The sentiment was very similar to what happened to AirAsia before. Too many people outside of the industry speculating, and don't know what they talking about just because some debt they see in the financial report.

I know a lot of people in Sapura and rest assured Sapura will rise financially within 1 year. They are going to announce big project again (P***ga) in middle of this year, and their yard in Lumut has started to be busy again with other project such as BokorBetty, North Malay Basin (HESS) and Kinarut . Last year was really bad, but projects had keep coming since end of last year. If you have bullet and willing to invest for at least one year, just keep on accumulating, you won't regret this. This counter is for investor, not for trader.

From recent economist reports on US, there will be 3 rate hikes in 2018, since the USA economy is currently doing very good with unemployment at all time low. No one can predict the future though, just like no one can say for sure what will happened to the oil price next year. Currently many shale US oil producers are on hibernation mode, once if they decide to flood the market with their oil again, oil price will crush again. Once oil price stumble, so does MYR. But the opposite could also happened if there is major disruption in middle east production (like major war) which would cause oil price to jump.
