@JustForFun123, my original post was made to point out an anomaly between the company's stated order book over a three month period. As you appear to be a shareholder you have every right to defend the company's stated figures, however your reasoning unfortunately doesn't hold water.
We are talking about a Rm750 million discrepancy here. I doubt the company has even produced a total revenue of Rm750 million in the last ten years.
As a shareholder you have every right to contact the company and ask the question. I think that might be more beneficial than jumping at shadows trying to find your own reasoning. I hope they give you a satisfactory answer, as I would be very interested to also know.
I'll leave that in your capable hands. Best wishes.

@JustForFun123, clearly their revenue figures don't come anywhere near your assumption.

@kfbusjd, as you are a shareholder in this company, I'm confident that you will be able to answer the following question.
In October last year, Kpower was stating to their shareholders and the market in general that they had an order book of Rm1.9 Billion in RE contracts.. This figure was also quoted to an IB who used that amount to write an investment report on the company in October 2021.
In January this year, the company is now stating that their RE order book is Rm1.158 Billion, a reduction of ~Rm750 Million. That is quite a massive discrepancy, three quarters of a Billion Ringitt of orders just "vanished".
So @kfbusjd, as a shareholder, are you able to inform the i3 forum where the orders for Rm750 Million went to? If not, I am sure that as a shareholder you will be calling them tomorrow to ask this very pertinent question.
I look forward to your reply, as I'm sure that you, as a shareholder are very interested to know why the October 2021 reported order book dropped by such a massive amount. Any comments from other shareholders on this "missing" Rm750 Million worth of orders would also be appreciated.
Thanks and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Update positive news:
The head of the Zaporozhia regional state administration says that the safety of the Zaporizhzia power plant is "secured".
Alexander Starukh posted just one sentence on Facebook, saying that he had spoken to the director of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Station in Enerhodar, and had been assured of its safety.
"The director of the ZNPP assured me that at the moment, the nuclear security of the object is secured," he wrote.

Let's all hope that sanity prevails and they allow the fire fighters to get into the area to control the situation.
If this was to escalate, then this war turns into a whole new ballgame and nobody wants that.

This is very bad news, with the potential to be a major catastrophe.
Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba says Russian troops are "firing from all sides" at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant, the largest plant in Europe.
As we just reported, local officials say that a fire has broken out in the plant because of these attacks.
"Russians must IMMEDIATELY cease the fire, allow firefighters, establish a security zone!" he wrote on Twitter.

I wish I could work out what EPF's game plan is. So far, buying 6 million shares in three trading days, after months of regular selling.
It would be easier to work out what's going on in a woman's mind than the EPF crew.

Spot on, KimSua.
Since that short covering around Feb 18 of around 2.88 Million, it has been one way traffic for the shorts. With EPF apparently changing their game plan (buying) this might change the momentum of the shorters but too early to tell though.
The cynic in me has been thinking that EPF were part of the shorting group as they were one of the biggest "sellers" at the time the 2.88 million shorts were covered, that is buying their own stock to cover their short position. Quite a lot of that was done around 9.10 at the time period.
Like all blue chips, it will only move when the Funds want it to move.

Not for me, LM.
Hard to envisage how this month's figures will look but I'm still cautious. If palm oil and crude oil hadn't had such a good gain then I doubt February's figures would have reached Rm2.85B.
Technically there is still Fib points at 6.35 and 6.20. Currently looking like it's using 6.20 as a support and 6.35 as resistance. I suggest you keep an eye on the DATV each day to see if it can keep to the requited RM2.9B each day.

Should be announced mid March, then paid mid April.
Ex. date should be around the end of March.
2022-03-01 11:07 | Report Abuse
I've just worked out the Daily Average Transaction Value for February. After a slow first half to the month, the values increased over the last half to bring the DATV to Rm2.85 B for the full month. Some big value buying of stocks in the palm oil sector such as KLK , and crude oil stocks would have helped a lot to increase the monthly value.
For March, Bursa requires a similar value of around Rm2.85B to Rm2.9B DATV to be inline with the last quarter's reduced performance figures.

Please take a few minutes to read this report which was compiled after a management meeting post the recent Quarterly.
It clarifies the shortful in returns for the quarter and explains that the shortfall WILL be collected by Tenaga. In particular, read the comments under the ICPT paragraph.

To add to my previous post, being more stock specific, this is the current situation of the Solarvest order book.........
"To date, the Group has secured approximately RM418 million worth of engineering, procurement, construction and commission jobs under the LSS@MEnTARI programme. As at 31 December 2021, the unbilled order book stood at RM595 million which will be progressively recognised in FYE 2022 and FYE 2023. The Group remains upbeat on the industry outlook, underpinned by a robust job pipeline in private large-scale power plant, residential, commercial & industrial projects."

This comment from the Solarvest quarterly is not stock specific but more of general information. It does put into context how significant the "RE Evolution" is and where solar stands as a major part of that growth.......
"The Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources has recently launched Malaysia Renewable Energy Roadmap (MyRER) for 2022 to 2035 to achieve the national aspiration of 31% renewable energy (RE)capacity by 2025 and 40% by 2035. The said MyRER is expected to generate an economic spillover of about RM 20 billion by 2025 and RM 33 billion by 2035 and create an estimated 47,000 employment opportunities in the renewable energy field."
As for solar energy's part in this energy transformation......
"The outlook for the solar photovoltaic (“PV”) industry in Malaysia remains optimistic and the Government is committed to support the growth of the PV solar industry, where renewable energy is targeted to
contribute 31% to the national capacity mix by 2025, with solar energy slated to become the dominant up to 80% of the renewable energy source in the system."

Qtr1 revenue: Rm22.75 Million.
Qtr2 revenue: Rm30.22 million.

I anticipate that the pre lockdown/MCO revenues of between Rm62 million to Rm70 million to occur within the next two quarters.

Agree 100%, Aries.
Apart from the obvious benefits, there are also offshoots such as employment growth in a quality industry and tax inputs for the government.

Hi Aries, re your query of "just curious if the solar energy will help us to reduce our energy bills.". The very straight forward answer to that would be no, IMO.
As for residential properties with their own solar panels, the answer is yes. I haven't done any analysis on residential solar panels and cost savings for Malaysia, but I can assure you of the benefits to customers overseas.
The system is quite simple and effective. When the solar system is installed the customer also gets a new meter, enabling the customer to "sell" the excess energy they generate during the day and also draw power from the grid during solar downtimes (evenings).
Depending on the overseas government initiatives and incentives to purchase residential solar panels, the payback period is generally between 3 to 5 years to recoup the purchase price from the saved energy bills.

https://klse.i3investor.com/blogs/savemalaysia/2022-02-22-story-h1599233599-TNB_plans_RM20b_capex_for_2022_2024.jsp
Following the rising coal prices which touched a whopping US$270 (RM1,130) per tonne on October 5, 2021, it is understood that TNB would register a higher average coal cost for the financial year ended December 31, 2021 (FY2021) compared with the average coal cost of US$61 per tonne in FY2020.
However, the management team said that with the implementation of the ICPT based on the Regulatory Implementation Guidelines, the company would not make additional profits, nor suffer losses from a lower or higher generation cost, as the impact of ICPT on the company is neutral.
ICPT is a mechanism approved by the government and implemented by EC since January 1, 2014 as part of a wider regulatory reform called the IBR. It allows TNB to reflect changes in fuel and generation costs in consumer’s electricity tariff every six months.

Hi Aries, long time no chat, hope all's well with you.
Regarding solar companies and rising material costs, there are a couple of angles to view it from, IMO. I don't think there is any point in making comparisons with the current rising costs in fossil fuels as that debate would be nullified by the RE legislative requirements of "going green". Without committed government requirements I doubt if many RE projects would be even beyond the planning stage yet.
What might be an issue is the prices of components to manufacture solar panels, obviously leading to higher end product costs. This is where the conversation becomes tricky as we don't know the finer points of the contracts for these large scale solar projects and industrial/commercial projects. Clearly the CAPEX will rise if panels have become more expensive but I wouldn't be surprised if there were provisions for that in the contracts. If that wasn't the case then I'd assume some companies who were awarded those contracts might walk away and not commence the project if costs became unmanageable. On the other hand, they may consider the increased CAPEX might be partly recouped over the 21 to 23 year time frame contracts, as most of them are.
When it comes to domestic installations then clearly the upfront cost will increase for the buyer, so it's up to them to decide if it is a viable investment to install solar to their residence.

Recently? They have been relentless sellers since around September last year.
The one mild positive is that the buyers have soaked up tens of millions of shares and the stock has "only" dropped around 10%. I believe many other EPF held stocks that could have suffered the endless selling would have been affected much worse that a 10% fall.
Only my opinion.

I didn't have much time to follow the market last week but one thing I always do is check the daily short list and daily net shorts of a selected group of stocks I hold. For quite some time there has been very little change in the net short position of Tenaga......until the net short position as of Thursday close/ Friday open.
Prior to Thursday's trading, Tenaga had a net short position of 8,135,288 shares, that being a 0.14% of total shares issued.
As of Friday morning Tenaga's net position is no longer on the list, meaning it has fallen below the 0.1% status on the Bursa list. Even if we were to presume that it had gone just below that level to 0.09#, that would mean around 3 million shorted shares had been covered.
As I said, I didn't see much of the daily movements of Tenaga last week but what I did notice from my limited viewing was that each afternoon there appeared to be an orchestrated push down to the 9.10 area. I'm wondering if this was part of the short covering plan, as there was high volume going through around that price point.
Just a thought.

It's touched the 5.85 Fib point on light volume in the first half hour of trading. An ideal scenario would be to break above that point then use it as a new support.
I've no idea if that will play out, probably depend a lot on the movement of the KLCI for the rest of the day.

The trend is your friend, until it no longer remains a trend.
Currently the last 4 quarters EPS are trending down....15 cents, 11 cents, 9.9 cents and 8 cents. Although only half way through this current quarter, the indicators (factual figures) are showing the downward trend to continue.
The question nobody knows yet is when this slide will cease. I'm certainly not brave enough to guess the answer. I'm sure all holders are hoping it turns before reaching FY19 EPS figures of quarterly EPS figures between 5.6 cents and 5.8 cents each quarter.
Anyway, enough about Bursa, I'm the birthday boy today and heading out for lunch and drinks with a few friends, so I'm sure Bursa wont be a topic of conversation. See you tomorrow.......probably with a headache :)

LM, daily volumes and values still need to increase significantly if they are to match last quarters figures.
Last quarters daily value averages for each month were:
October = 2.9 Bill.
November = 2.8 Bill.
December = 1.9 Bill.
We are now at the half way point of this current quarter and the daily value averages are:
January = a touch over 2 Bill.
February to date = 2.23 Bill.
Currently it would require daily value averages of at least 3 Bill each trading day of the remainder of February and all of March to reach the last quarter's daily value averages.
Possible? I would have doubted it.

stkoay, those price points that you posted from Aminvest are fairly similar to my calculations a couple of weeks ago that I posted here.
A target from here would head to 5.85, and if that breaks then a move to attempt the 5.97 price point.
Perhaps we might need the KLCI to bteak 1,570 for a more serious breakout. Not sure this is the ideal timing for that though but I expect it later.

Hi smallkid91, I think you may need to reset your thinking regarding RE and Tenaga, as you seem to not quite grasp the concept clearly.
Perhaps if you can answer these questions you may have a better understanding about the position of RE and its imperative link to Tenaga as we move forward:
1. Apart from reducing the omissions, what is the reason for solar farms, wind farms and hydro stations?
2. In developed countries, why do the major power suppliers actively promote households to invest in solar panels on their property?
3. What benefits are there to major power suppliers buying power from companies creating solar farms?
4. Why do companies, like for example Solarvest and many others build and own solar farms?
The answers to those questions may give you a better view of the overall RE "revolution" and why everything in the supply chain needs to be interlinked.
