I can foresee where this will end, as I've seen similar things happen in an overseas market forum. Believe me, it could end in tears for some posters.

They seem to have a good handle on the company with realistic expectations going forward. I can't see anything in the report that I'd disagree with, although it would have been handy if they had asked the company if they had secured any new tenants. Apart from that, all good with this update from them.

The MD of this company seems to have an insatiable appetite for buying shares in this company.
Last Friday's purchases along with yesterday's should take his total buying in the last two months to around 10 million shares. Seems like a positive sign of his confidence in the business.

@remus, Edotco is primarily a tower services provider, so they will be renting space from PTrans for those instillations. I would assume there would be no Capex for PTrans as edotco will build and charge their clients for utilising their tower space.
The announcement states that Edotco will be paying market price for the rental space.

Seem,s like a nice new rental revenue stream for PTrans, imo.

Kim Sua, the taxman certainly took his pound of flesh this quarter.
"For the reporting period ended 31 March 2022, the Group recorded a 43.1% effective tax rate,
which is higher than the statutory tax rate of 24.0%. The effective tax rate is higher in the current
period due to the one-off Cukai Makmur in FY2022 and expenses not allowable for tax."

Rm660 million in tax in total for the quarter, with Rm130 million of that in deferred tax payment. Removing the deferred tax alone, that would have been enough to deliver a RM1 billion net profit.

Yes, tax costs have increased plus booking payments of deferred taxes.

Headline results a little lower than I had hoped for but nothing fatal.

@ZorosInvestFund, I can't disagree with the four highlight points you mentioned, however the most important one you have left out is growth. That is the most relevant key word when referring to this company, imo.

Going through the recent quarterly again (for about the fifth time!! :) ) I can't see any reason why those figures can't be replicated throughout the remainder of this current financial year. In fact, there is no reason that I can currently see that those figures won't gradually increase, barring any unforeseen nasty local or global event. There are no "one off"additions that skew the quarter's revenue to appear better than they will be going forward. In fact, the one detrimental figure that softened the net profit figure was deferred tax liabilities.

For any investment stock I hold, I would never use a single quarterly report to determine the remainder of the year's results, but in this case I am struggling to find anything that will negatively effect their revenue and profit for FY22.

I ask the question to holders for a debate, is there any reason that you can currently see that the revenue for FY22 could not be around Rm160 million?
I hope long term holders make comments.

The chart is showing early signs of a move up, following the drop in price since it went ex. dividend recently. No doubt we'll get confirmation one way ot the other with the upcoming quarterly report.
I'd be comfortable with a quarterly EPS around the 16 cent mark and anything else would be a bonus.

After delivering a very solid quarterly with record revenue and net profit my sentiment remains a buy and hold. I'd assume a lot of the selling on Tuesday after the release of the quarterly was from punters who had jumped into the stock in recent weeks as it moved upwards. You could probably include some of Monday's buyers too.

As for the technicals, Tuesday's "sell off" brought the price below the short term moving average for the first time in almost two months, around March 10. Currently the damage to the chart appears very limited and only requires the price to move up to and beyond 69.5 for the short term trend to be back on track.

If it breaks above 69.5 , then we would be looking at the two previous targets of 70.5 and 72.5/73, imo.

Another 1.6 million bought today by the MD.

I understand, Dan. The margin percentage dropped a few points due to the deferred tax payment made this quarter. All segments increased in revenue, which is what all longer term holders want to see, imo.

I was also hoping to see some growth in revenue and profit, again the company delivered on that.

For a first quarter FY2022 result, I'm very pleased with the outcome and would expect to see some growth in the second quarter FY2022, with their business model and growth strategy very much intact.

4ever5 , I agree with your post, in particular your comments about prospects and their business plan remaining intact. Their annual year on year revenue has consistently grown since listing in 2016, along with annual profit and margins. The only slight blip was revenue in 2020 due to Covid lockdowns,however they were still able to grow their profit that year.

Quarterly reports can sometimes be a bit "foggy" as they only relate to a three month period and may include some anomalies that don't eventually damage the overall annual business development. With that in mind, although I always scrutinise any quarterly of a company I own, unless their are any major issues or discrepancies I generally don't use them as a selling indicator.
As I've mentioned before, I'm not expecting any major shocks in the upcoming Perak Transit quarterly.

If MD sentiment is anything to go by, with his continual buying up to 70 cents then we should be reasonably "safe".

With this past week's 4 day trading week, the current price has been well supported and has included a fair bit of buying at 70 and 70.5 during a volatile overall market. Technically, I mentioned last weekend that 70.5 was a target, this still remains a breakout point leading towards 72.5/73. Although 70.5 was hit during the week, it currently appears to be consolidating before any move forward.

The quarterly may or may not help with the immediate short term targets. Fingers crossed :)

Sometime during the upcoming week we should see the release of the first quarter 2022 results, so the end of week pricing should reflect either the positive or negative analysis of those results.

For now I'll keep following the current Fib path, as the price has, so far, remained within those parameters.
R1: 9.10...broken.
R2 9.20... broken but perhaps see a retest intraday Monday.
R3 9.27.
R4 9.32.
R5, cock on the block time, 9.40.

We'll need to see a positively accepted Quarterly Report for the Fib to remain intact.

The R1 point has fallen and now there have been regular little walls being built at R2 point 9.20 over the past two days.
If/when this is broken then I'd be looking at 9.27 and 9.32.

Overall market sentiment is as much a test as the resistance points.

That should take his purchases to around 5 5 million in the past month

To follow on from that post.......
It did take out the 68.5 level on Thursday afternoon, however it was dampened by a bit of an afternoon sell off on the KLCI.. However, Friday delivered on my chart prediction fortunately.

Looking ahead to the next week or so, I did a couple of Fibonacci calcs and came up with the following.
Depending on the input figures, I came up with immediate short term targets of 70.5 and 72.5/73.

We should also see the quarterly released sometime within the next two weeks, so that may also have an effect on the price, either very marginally positive or negative but I don't expect it to have any major shocks attached to it.

RHB goes ex dividend on Tuesday after the public holiday. With the current price of 6.04 I obviously expect to see it go to 5.80 due to the 25 cent dividend.
I'd expect it to return to above Rm6 in the not too distant future.

Nice to see PTrans back on track after yesterday afternoon's KLCI kick in the gonads.

Keep an eye on the volume.
If it can close above 9.05 with at least 5 million traded, then there might be some hope for an eventual move.

The recent crappy market has helped the shorters play a bit, especially on the Friday after the Raya break. However that has all been covered plus more, in the past week.

Technically, nothing has changed much over the last two weeks. It still needs to break the 9.10/9.12 price point, then onto 9.20/9.22 if the price gets some traction.

This morning's early and very short lived rise to 9.10 doesn't mean much yet.

Currently the KLCI has dropped around 13 points since the lunchtime close, which has taken the wind out of the sails of many stocks this afternoon, including PTrans.
It had the look of taking on 69 cents with the 1 million+ single purchase at 68.5 prior to that, then the market started to drop........ho hum, have to wait for another day :)

He has obviously heavily invested his time and money into this business for long term gains, through capital gains and regular dividends.

It appears, at least to me anyway, that he remains very positive about the company's direction and future and backs that up with substantial purchases of the company's shares.
