I'd like to see a lot more volume going through during the daily sessions. It appears to be getting soaked up during the session, then we usually see a grab for stock in the closing auction.

Not really........what happens is that the warrant is transferred to a fully paid up share.
The company receives full payment for the conversion, in this case 892,750 shares at 75 cents = Rm669,562.50

It's a routine notice to the market that a Warrant holder has converted their warrants into shares. The exercise price of the warrant is 75 cents.

Perhaps converted just in time to also pick up the current dividend.

Your claim is that Tenaga will report a loss in their quarterly, no dividend in their quarterly and this will send the price down to Rm4.50.

Hi unicornbird.......I would doubt that by adding new products to their list would make that much of a difference to the bottom line.
What needs to change is the pool of money that is being invested in all the Bursa products, with obviously the Main market volumes and values requiring a major cash input. This is something we are currently not seeing, in fact the opposite is occurring.

Last quarter's volume and value was poor and although only 6 weeks into the new quarter, the numbers are currently drastically lower than the previous quarter.

I don't see anything changing to the upside until the pool of local and foreign money increases drastically. Certainly no sign of that yet, which points to yet again a lower net profit and EPS for this current quarter.

@Understand........do not make comments on my behalf. You have absolutely no idea on my thoughts on Tenaga and my short, mid and long term forecasts. Do not state or even imply what you believe to be my thoughts or opinions.

To me, the share price still seems to be defying gravity. Whether that will change once it goes ex dividend on Thursday (11th) is yet to be seen.
I still think the logical scenario is for the price to drop, and I retain the targets of 6.35 and 6.20 as important price points.

I keep going back to the data and the low daily transaction values and scratch my head as to why this hasn't dropped, even before the upcoming ex dividend date.

As you said, the Receivables will be the go to number once we see the revenue.

It feels a bit like deja vu following the RHB price points. With 5.85 broken and used as a support, the next logical target is around 5.97, very similar to its price path earlier this year.

With the quarterly due late this month along with an anticipated dividend attached to it, the question might be whether it has enough petrol in the tank to yet again break through 6.00 again.

Obviously as a holder, I hope so. Worth a BUY call to either top up or enter if it was to slip below 5.85, imo.

Consolidation and distribution still continuing within the gradually tightening Bollinger Bands. My first target of 87 cents still remains, which is now coincidently the level of the upper Bollinger Band. The immediate short term move is to break 83.5, then eventually take on 87 cents.

Hi KimSua, what's your thoughts on the current technicals?
I'm undecided as to whether it will consolidate around the 8.30 to 8.50 area for a period of time, or will slowly continue its attempt to eventually complete the U shaped recovery I mentioned a week or so ago.
It looks a little "toppy" which may indicate a consolidation period. One thing about Tenaga, it never fails to surprise :)

A break above 8.50 may make things interesting in the short term.

As the volume starts to dry up we may see an upward move in an attempt to take on new levels. My key price points are still 87 cents with a possible move to 92 cents.

If overall market conditions are positive then we may see the above comment come into play. A positive quarterly would obviously assist, which is due in around 3 weeks time.

Since yesterday's quarterly release the IB's have been coming out with their new predictions. The one I was hoping to see was from Jeremy Goh from HLB, as I totally disagreed with his bullish views earlier this year. Not to be disappointed, he released his new opinion :)

A complete turnaround from his earlier predictions of Rm7.95, now downgraded to Rn5.65!
That's even lower than my previous Fibonacci target of 5.80.. :)

Although seemingly coincidental, it was his bullish targets and reporting earlier this year that took Bursa from 6.20 to 6.80 within a few days, the rise happening at the same time as his report. The whole play was very, very odd.

I somehow feel vindicated now :)

Yes, Kim Sua, I tend to agree with your points. During the period you mentioned was when EPF were doing their daily sells, and also beyond June 20. Whether this new interest is on the back of foreign investors is yet to be known. As you say, the Q2 results will be the short term driver, up or down, and will be highlighted by the size of Receivables, imo.

At least the volume has improved over recent times, currently 1.5 million at 10.40am. Recently that has been the volume for a full day, prior to getting a lift in volume in the afermarket auction/closing.
Positive signs but early days.

It's probably way too early to know if this is the early days start to an elongated U shaped recovery to the 8.90-9.20 area. The chart has been hinting for a couple of weeks that it might start to make a move out of the tight BB but I wasn't game to choose which direction.

Very little in the way of shorting over the past few weeks with a little bit of covering happening, albeit in relatively small quantities.
As for Phoeby's query about the dividend........I'd say a lot will depend on how much has been received in the subsidies allocation and whether the amount is still sitting in Receivables.

LM, marginally lower than I thought, I was targetting EPS of around 7.5 cents. Dividend inline with expectations.
The concern now is this current quarter, as daily transaction values have been WAY LOWER than the quarter just reported.
I know it's only one month out of three but the values have been very low, to date.

Quarterly out, EPS of 7.3 cents, compared to 8.4 cents last quarter.
15 cents dividend.

Everything down as expected.

First point, EPF have not bought Bursa since the 14th June, although I see no relevance in that.
More importantly regarding your statement, if you look back to mid last year, EPF were regular buyers of the stock in June and July with daily purchases of 200K to 300K daily. At the same time the stock was beginning to be shorted with the short sales increasing in big numbers from August. Over that period the short position increased dramatically from just under 2 million shares to over 5 million shares. EPF had been buying at 8.15+ and the share price plunged to eventually stop at around 6.15.

I was going to start a lengthy reply but decided I was enjoying my beer too much (it is Friday, after all) and that it is also up to the company to "defend" itself, not me.

Well, this one you almost got right.....BUT.......that was only a partial quote from the Director. The reality is that current monthly revenues from the logistic partners are much lower than that figure and when you research the full transcript you will see that it was only guidance on what they eventually expect to collect from their eventual logistics hubs.

A couple of points regarding the Project Facilitation Fee:

1. The company clearly stated their PFF earnings for 2021 in their AR.
2. Current 12 month PFF earnings has been already clarified by their order book.
3. There is a Youtube video with the GM and CFO explaining how the PFF is earned and why it is growing.
4. If none of those suit you criteria and agenda, I suggest you call the company, as they are very accommodating

Im expecting a lacklustre quarterly report next Thursday, with an EPS lower than the last two quarters. Anything other than that would be a surprise to me.
Having said that, what I am curious about is the "bounce" from 6.21 to currently 6.40 (intraday high 6.47) over the past few days.
The cynical side of me is thinking it might be a push up so that it can be shorted from a higher starting point. There has been no new short positions taken over the last three days.

RHB has finally broken out of the recent trading band, along with other banks.
Too early to say that this is the start of a sustained rise for banks for the second half of 2022, which has been touted so often in the first half of the year.

For the short term, I'd like to see RHB break 5.85 convincingly, then use that point as a short term support.

Kim Sua, we are on the same side here with our thoughts and probably need to focus on the current situation and not bring up issues that are no longer relevant.

Over the past 42 quarters....let me repeat that...42 QUARTERS, Tenaga had only one quarter where they made a loss, due to an impairment. The immediate following quarter they made a profit of Rm1.56 Billion.

A direct quote from the quarterly where the impairment was booked......
" The Group reported lower operating profit of RM697.0 million in the current quarter as compared
to RM1,474.5 million in the preceding quarter, a decrease of RM777.5 million. This is mainly due
to the decrease in revenue and increase in impairment of financial instruments."
