Firehawk. TQ. Since you are shareholder of serba, suggest you to shoot them an email to explain on such allegation. Indeed, the financial impact on you might be negligible but if this is true, then it will cause a lot of losses for a lot of people. Not only financially but also in their life.
Taking financial losses because i choose the wrong company to invest is different from a company that's out to cheat. That's a crime. I personally saw how my father had a big chunk of his hard earned retirement fund vaporised in the 90s as a newbee. Tilll now, he still feels the pain. Needless to say, he invested in goreng stocks.

While i don't know how much longer commodities gonna run, probably a lot longer. I won't buy below 3 companies because of these reasons. I understand Calvin logic behind buying these companies, which should have lower PE i presume? Sorry, i didn't study in details and just a quick guide.
1. I presume THplant and FGV both GLC? 1 rule i have is not to touch GLC if i am looking at long term investments. I believe you have seen enough scandals with GLC to know why? Even i got the privilege to run GLC, i don't mind doing it for free cos i will become very rich anyway wink wink
2. Jtiasa. Cautious with 2nd generation successors. Few succeed (eg YTL) but majority are embroiled in power struggle. When everyone is busy with politic, you think they got time to care for the long term well being of businesses? That's why i miss Dr. M. From my memory, his dictatorship period was the best economically for Malaysia. Changing PM every year won't bring Malaysia anyway, no matter who the PM is.

I agree SSlee.I don't understand accounting but from what i understand, JAKS is trying to write off bad investments and won't affect future earnings? Of course, if it involves any wrong doing, it's rightly so you raised your concerns. However, sorry for me to say, i couldn't understand your arguements. I might be the minority, if i am the majority, then how would you gain support from JAKS share holders.
Your cause is noble but why just stop at JAKS. They are many goreng stocks which the exurberant prices will damage the players? If indeed JAKS is so bad and try to con me, i say i would lose 30-40% of my investment cos Vietnam PP gotta worth something? Whereas many goreng stocks, some with animal names even haha, worth 0? Wow, Sarifah macam business woman or accountant ni. SSlee, it's good that you raised your concern but in this case i tend to agree with Sarifah. In life or investment, the hardest thing is to admit defeat due to our ego. I won't invest in JAKS if not because of Vietnam PP. Obviously, ALP sucks at property. He can blame it on market timing but i know many veteran property developers actually turned cautious before 2014. Of course, if you are a listed companies you react differently than a privately held company. I see no problem with the disposals and in fact i am happy. As i stated earlier, JAKS tolong please don't do property again. That might increase overall profit but it's a big MIGHT. Just give me Vietnam PP that's all. Many goreng stocks have halved in value. So, are you gonna hold or admit defeat? It might go up, noone knows. However, from me being 1 that used to play goreng stocks, my experience told me that over a time span of 5 to 10 years 1 bound to lose their pants in goreng stocks overall.

1. JAKS really did breach the rules? Since SC also ignored you. While you are a senior management yourself, doesn't make you understand company laws. I would consult auditors or lawyers friends before i would make such post. I honestly not sure if JAKS did breach rules or not by reading your statements.
2. Please summarise your points that you wanna bring out. I prefer reading summaries.
3. If indeed auditors and lawyers find ground, tell JAKS shareholders what action we can take. Eg. draft a letters and get us to sign petition.

As TF himself said, he projects online to contribute 50% of income by 2025. While there's potential, that's another 4 years away. And digital banking is still another year away. Many penny stocks have dropped more than 50% from high and i believe more to come as these companies are worth 0. Our IGP said many enforcers are involved. Not surprising right? First quarter 2021 almost gone. Yet again, i have to scale back on my travel plans. I suspect the earliest possible for interstate travel will be before Hari Raya? That's because government won't dare pissed off the biggest voters in Malaysia. Same as reason why now Sarawak Covid cases are champion. Sarawak govt dare not forbid the Dayak's funerals becasue they are the biggest voters in Sarawak. The crucial question for me now, govt gonna expedite the vaccination program? At estimated 100k - 150k vaccination per week, anyone can tell me how long we need to reach 70% population target? Sorry, i failed my SPM maths. Malaysia govt have many good ideas but execution always screwed up.
I would like to list out the positives and negatives for AA.
Positives
1. AA will not bankrupt for sure.
2. Vaccination is here. We will get to 70% eventually...
3. Their digital businesses our cashflow positives
4. They are going for digital banking license
5. TF is a great entrepreneur/survivor

Negatives
1. PP & RI is inevitable. Meaning that future earnings will be diluted by 40% minimum assuming that AA won't get additional income revenue.

Potential
1. Digital businesses. It's very competitive so potential earnings yet to be seen
2. Digital bank. BN gonna annouce winner early 2022
3. Potential higher ASP for seats in 2022 when demands for air travel return

Sorry. I am unable to advise since i am an amateur investor myself. However, based on news link above, i was pretty accurate in profit forecast. 6-8% return is decent for stable income stream. For a company such as JAKS, the valuation used should be DCF (discounted cash flow). What's that? I don't know details and i don't know how to derive it. Just know name.
My advise to you, understand WHY you buy certain shares and how to derive basic values from it.
If you rely on your financial future on someone else telling you buy or sell, you bound to cry one day. Would it give you more confident if i tell you RM10?
I won't tell you if i sell (at least i won't come here and say it's overpriced)
I actually trading sold above 0.80 and now bought back, with additional shares.
There are big sellers recently in JAKS. I don't know why. I am waiting for QR for an indicator.

When i first saw the news, my first impression was, SHIT. Solar farm very low return leh on capital. However, i never really look into details but just general overview.
The impressive part of the annoucement is that JAKS is 1 of a handful of companies that were awarded a 50MW LSS which is the biggest farm this round.
So, i had spent some time and asked google god "how much 50 mw solar farm can make"

So, what i read is that 1 MW requires 4 to 5 acres of land and 1 acre of solar farm can generate profit of USD21,250 - 42,500.
If i use the lower figure USD21,250 x 4 x 50 = USD4,250,000. That's RM16M. Also, the lowest bid price was 17.68sen/kwh which is higher than the USA that i read at around 12sen/kwh.
As a businessman, if source of funds not an issue, i wouldn't mind invest in solar farm if my return is higher than my source of loan. The source of funds should come from bank loans with current low interest rate.
Actually i have looked at plantation as a business option too and decided the return was low at 5-10% return a year? I could be wrong as it's just a general overview. However, the beauty of RE just same as plantation, power generation and plantation companies generate some of the most profit in KLSE. You see, in many businesses, profit growth is not guaranteed by expanding capacities. Plantations and utilities are the rare businesses that do. Of cos, if it's a GLC then it's different stories.
Hopefully some expert can feedback on typical IRR of solar farm in Malaysia
