Goodnews. It took PHB management 2.5 years to realize that share buy back won't help to move the price if the group is not growing the profit. Now, they changed the game back to declare cash dividend. In fact, this dividend is not derived from the operation profit but from selling the assets. Hence, in operation, the group has not displayed any improvement and that would continue to pressure its price.

This is in addition of the current weak market in China which would definitely add more salt to the wound. It's better to wait for the results to gauge further on its business operation especially in China.

As highlighted earlier, special dividend is only a proposal and may serve as a gimmick to shadow the weaker earning. Hence, my opinion is not to buy in now.

results should be out this week. Let's see how it fares.

Just don't buy in as WC is hoping so in view of coming results which would be weaker earning. Wait for the results in less than 12 days. Just sit tight and wait.

u can do that provided the contra covers your brokerage fees and tax. In fact such a tactic doesnt make money but reducing your capital in the market. As long it is still downtrend. U only make money if it is an uptrend the next day.

why absorb now as the next quarter results would be a disappointment?

Until US is firm with its interest rate by this month and completion of Bersih demo in 29-30 August and how the government responds to it, I don't think market will stabilize. So just close your eyes and wait for another 3 weeks. If everyday KLCI lost 20 points for the next 12 trading days, that would mean another 240 points to drop.

Maybe another 150 - 200 index points to go before it stabilize. Now already 1615. Need to go to 1450?

Surprisingly PHB did not drop much for the last 1 week while other counters were dropping. Guess PHB has found its bottom after 3 years of drop.

iswara, you got the answer right. Market is full of emotion and not everyone has holding power. If everyone have holding power, then market won't be volatile but stable all the time.

15% tariff increase also can't push the price up all because of Najib. If this 1MDB saga still continue on, it would hurt our economy real bad.

Ringgit already touched RM4 = USD1. Tomorrow will be another round of selldown in Bursa due to psychological level. Panic selling may be triggered.

USD appreciation isnt a catalyst for Supermax to move its price higher. The rule of the game seem to have changed. Apparently now we are facing variables from China, internal politic, USD appreciation and commodity pricing. Apparently China's weaker growth and internal politic in Malaysia seem to have the higher "weightage" in determining KLCI and market in Malaysia.

Guess need to pick more TA when KLCI is down below 1600

market sentiment is bad. Even TA Ent also can't defend the price.

As per history, market wont forever be down. It will eventually recover. Just like in 2008, it was down for 4 months before finding its bottom in April 2009. Just need to close your eyes to the paper loss if you have purchase a good and fundamental company.

It's a different story if you have invested in a speculated counter.

I cut loss at 0.995. Cant believe it is now hovering at 0.80 while 2 weeks ago was at 1.17.

Thanks to depreciation of Ringgit and the rumor of Zeti Aziz being axed as BNM Governor. The market will continue to be volatile until the 1MDB saga is settled.

Results out on 28th August. 3 more weeks for volatile trading and yoyo in price before it finds its footing.

Those foreign fund has exited. All got trapped in higher price. It's the same for most counters in Bursa that were pushed to higher price last week.
