It's not about the party alone but the fight against the corrupted and distorted institution as well. Just take a look on how Police, MCMC, MACC, BNM and Home Ministry reacted in 1MDB scandal. With that, you know that you are not against the present ruling party alone but the whole government institution which was setup initially to ensure fair, just and neutral enforcement. Unfortunately, this independence has been severely broken by Dr M and now they are party and individual based instead.

Need to be discipline in waiting and patience to unlock the value. That's the toughest challenge especially for guy who would prefer actions and excitement

Dun under estimate this counter. Historically wise, it gave u a shock when ppl least expected it. With current price, it's safe to hold it for now.

Aggresive share buyback started around end 2012 / early 2013 and the price then was above RM4. 4 shares dividends since then and now the price is RM1.29. I really have no idea on how you justify the share buyback program being able to lift the counter's price.

I don't support shares buyback. I support cash dividend instead.

Ks55, your hypothesis is based on what WC plan to do and not what the fundamental of PHB? Hence, are u saying that for short term, can put some money into PHB but not for mid to long term?

Parkson: I can't be saying much for now as I have exited PHB and mere observing it for now. To be honest, PHB is still very weak due to WC and its Lion Group and China's market which is not contributing to any profit growth but lower profit each quarter. This trend has been around since Q1 2013. I don't see any reversal as of now until PHB strategy in China is bearing fruits especially on their re-positioning to be a lifestyle mall, F&B business (which is still insignificant), and closing down of unprofitable malls which will impair more losses. On other hand, Parkson seem to be hit hard on the "tenant-landlord virus" sickness. Unsure if this is due to poor management or just the cunning way China businessmen doing business.

As for SEA, the contribution is still very weak from Malaysia and Vietnam. Indonesia is doing well but still far ahead to replace China's market and Indonesia is facing the weak rupiah which could impact PHB earning in Indonesia. Myanmar is just a single mall and nothing to be shout from there at group level.

Overall my call is to Sell. There are just too much negative news revolve around PHB. And I totally against the Share buy back program as it is not giving back the value to the shareholders at all!

As long as there is no better profit for PHB, expect continue downtrend. It has dropped from RM5 to current stage and there's no reason for it not to continue to drop if there's no positive news about it. China market is really affecting PHB earning and that is really not good to Parkson.

sharebuyback still promoting share buyback strategy? Not working at all. After the last ex price at 1.63, now already 1.38. This fella will continue to fall more until it stabilize. Looking at it now, it hasn't stabilize at all. At least another two days of drop due to both internal and external factors.

with the latest round of scandal and allegation from Sarawak report and WSJ, Monday gonna be bad for the market. Guess Parkson may goes down to 1.45 and below in such a weak sentiment.

I don't think there is any good price to accumulate PHB now even if it drops until 1.45 since the downtrend is still progressing and not stopping since 2012, in parallel with China market performance. China market continue to contract and don't seem to be reversing anytime soon. Hence, PHB will continue to be downtrend at least for 2015.

If u ask me, I would rather save my 'bullets' and focus on other counters for now as I see no uptrend for PHB for the next few quarters. ks55 has been consistently pointing that PHB is very weak as the main shareholder @ WC is also very weak. All lion industry companies are very weak too.

Anyway, do not listen to me completely as you may have your own strategy for PHB just like Hooi and sharebuyback who have been accumulating even it s downtrend. As for me, I have sold majority of my position in PHB and may sell off my remaining stake if PHB goes below RM1.50.

It won't as most are trapped over RM2 and the NTA is around RM2.60 as reported.

No one in the right mind will sell at 1.45 at 1650 when the price is trading at 1.55. There is some pattern here. One side bid highest at 1.67 and the other sell lowest at 1.45 and both order executed at 1650

At 1650, there were best buy at 1.670 and best sell at 1.45. The same trend during shares buy back but stopped when there were no longer shares buyback. Today, this trend happens again but with low volumes. And due to this, PHB closed from 1.55 to 1.52 in the last 10 mins of trading. Manipulation???

Many long term investors lose a lot in PHB if you have been keeping since RM5. PHB is a good example that even with strong cash flow and balance sheet, it doesn't mean the share price going to be stable but instead lose 68% in 3 years time.

Find another re-entry price in Q3 or Q4 this year when there is no more downtrend for its business. Should its business still continue to go downtrend, PHB has to exist China market as it is no longer viable.

That s the sentiment of the market. It always beat fundamental. And it doesnt help that Parkson keeps generating bad news from its businesses in China and Vietnam.
