I am looking at this counter. They have built a new factory but sales (especially overseas) going down. Will there be over capacity? Anyone has any insight on this based on any previous meeting. My thanks, in advance. :)

Satha44, whats your take on the quarterly results?
2016-11-25 11:15 | Report Abuse
Yes, there is a risk.
1. Without biz, make losses and over time depletes cash.
2. Directors go on a spending spree. Go to US, produce a film, buy expensive art & properties etc.
3. Share buy back depletes the funds.
There is this sort of risk with any company you invest in, just different degree. Where directors might misappropriate funds, pay themselves too much, spend on unnecessary things etc. But we must calculate the risk. If don't want any risk, put money in the bank.

I am also very tempted to average down. Still wondering if have hit the bottom.....trend is downwards. :(

Rm4.40....wondering if should average down????

Agreed with the comments above.
1. RM0.55 - unlikely, more like impossible/improbable. If 0.55, dividend yield will be over 10%. Many will sapu at higher prices.
2. Current price, dividend yield of 6.8% makes this stock very attractive. Better than FD rates at banks and above inflation rate.
3. Stock price currently below the cash per share.
4. Once buy profitable business, out of PN17, can expect price to go up by close to 50%. My time frame is within the next 12 months.
The above reasons is why I recently added some more.

Follow the big money. Up on big volume. Down with low volume. 2 days ago, big volume, not company buy back. Big money buying. Soon will be up.

I did, didn't you notice the volume more than 4 times the last 4 weeks average?

Danny has spoken....share will go up now. Happen so many times, Danny say share down, than up. When he not say anything, share down. Hahaha

Wonder if now is a good time to average down???? Will watch for a day or two first.....market still volatile with downward pressure. At any rate, I am long on AXIATA and feel company being under valued. My hope is unlocking of value by listing edotco next year. This alone has been estimated to have a market capitalisation of over RM20 billion. But with market bearish, they might postpone the listing.

I am going to take a risk and go in a bit at 0.045.....make a quick in and out.....wish me luck :)

With the depreciation of the Ringgit and Peso against the Yen, anyone knows the impact on P&L?
2016-11-14 08:06 | Report Abuse
I was also thinking of buying at RM0.885. Just that, right now, the market very uncertain with downward pressure, so staying on the side lines. Looking at it, it is a good buy, tempted.....see how today :)

Waiting for support to appear before averaging down. I suspect foreign funds must be selling as EPF has been a net buyer
2016-11-01 22:36 | Report Abuse
I don't think it is goreng. I sold once RSI hit 80% on the 24th, indicating an over-bought situation. This might just be a correction. If it holds above RM0.42 and RSI drops to a reasonable level, will consider going back in again. If drops below 0.42, than consider going in at next support level of RM0.40

Ignore my earlier comment.....Don't collect now....wait till see a support.

Thank you, Sir....same to you. :)

ayam sky, yes, there is potential for that. Sooner or later RSI will come down, than I will buy back. Might even buy at a higher price, it is ok. This strategy has worked well for me for the stocks that I trade in and out.

Agree with you guys. I am also collecting slowly. If they list edotco, that alone would have a market capitalisation of about 50% of Axiata current market capitalisation. As such, feel current valuation of AXIATA is cheap. Looking at the charts, it is on a downtrend since August. But the RSI has indicated an oversold and this might be good time to collect a bit more......again slowly, as can still go either way.

Punkhair Guy, EPF is still selling. Only thing is after Sept 19th, announcement on 22nd Sept, they cease to be a substantial shareholder after selling 4.7 million shares. At the end of that date, they still had 37+ million shares. Sales made by EPF after 19th Sept, no longer need to make announcement as they are no longer hold more than 5% of SENDAI shares.
2016-10-31 08:08 | Report Abuse
moneykj, Yes, still have upside potential. I sold because the RSI has hit over 80%. Will collect back once RSI drops.

Sold at 0.525.....wait to collect back.
2016-10-26 08:19 | Report Abuse
Estimate that EPF has sold about 2/3 of it's shares since the beginning of Sept with 1/3 remaining.

Heard the news on the warrants. The exercise price is RM0.05. DBE stocks price needs to go to a minimum of RM0.055 for the warrants to be of any value. Otherwise, might as well buy mother shares at a lower price. Their previous warrants also expired with many not converting because the stock price did not go above the conversion price.
Maybe they are hoping that with this announcement, sellers will go away and buyers will come in. Time will tell. I will wait for Satha44 to go in before I follow

No rush, EPF still selling, estimate they still have 24~25 million shares in hand. Lately, they seem to be selling in the afternoon session once many line up to buy at RM0.46~RM0.465.
If one is looking to buy this stock, my guess can buy at RM0.46. Which is the lowest price EPF sold on 7th Sept. This was reported on 13th Sept while they were still a substantial shareholder.
Just sharing my thoughts.

I am watching on the side. There won't be any upward action until announcement of getting into a new core biz. The catalyst will be once the new core biz start reporting profits for 2 quarters and out of PN17....my guess it will be some time in 3rd quarter of 2017.
If the stock drop below 0.90, will pick up some more. This quarter result expected to be report a loss....hoping to pick up more shares during that time.
2016-10-06 19:41 | Report Abuse
EPF is still selling. This is putting downward pressure. Will be a while before can go up to the target price.
2016-10-06 12:01 | Report Abuse
Yes, I feel a good entry price is RM0.46~0.47. I bought at RM0.47. Won't see any upward movement yet as I assume EPF is still selling. If the quarter result is good, than will see upward movement. Now it is time to collect and wait for the results. Based on news reports on Nathan's interview, he said all the write-offs have been done and results will be good going forward.

Open Google translate, copy the article and paste....will translate but not very accurate. Will give you the gist of it. Basically, nothing new.....since selling biz, no core biz and now in PN17. Looking to get into manufacturing & Education and expanding into Insurance in PH and lending in OZ. After that will be getting out of PN 17.

Is there a possibility of MAA selling the treasury shares in order to reduce % held by Melewar?
What are the chances for Melewar to get a waiver?
2016-09-29 08:09 | Report Abuse
Rohank71, I was wondering, if there is going to be a MGO, why is MAA supporting the share price? Wouldn't they want it to drop so that when they make an offer, the premium paid would be much higher that the closing prices? Appreciate if you can ask your friends who have inside information. Thank you.

rohank71, what is the source? Have any link?
If your question is theoretical, than at RM1.00, I won't accept, the current cash per share is higher than RM1.00, even after taking into account the most recent dividend that will be paid in October. The NTA is more than double the RM1.00.

Increasing debt by RM300+ million. What sort of collateral are they giving for the guarantee by Asia Development Bank? How risky is this bio-ethanol biz?

Thanks, Satha. True, but my greedy mind tells me, a small price movement can make high % returns....thats makes it attractive....buy at RM0.04,....sell at RM0.05.....25% return!!! Hahaha.....Hope not the other way around!!!
After OpenSys, I went heavily into MAA. Already earned RM0.47 in dividends/special dividends and price is at about where I got in. I am still keeping/accumulating as I feel this can still go higher once they get a new core biz and out of PN17. Anyways, All the best!!

satha44, How are you? Been a long time. Last time we did well at OpenSys :) I was 'sold' on DBE media coverage and now saw your comments. Need to analyse further and wait for next quarter results to see if their Harumi gaining traction and/or their KFC contract. Just thinking, at this price point, looks very attractive based on the news coming in. Might risk/gamble with a bit of funds. Hehehe

Looks like many people want to cash out at RM0.99~RM1.00. Got RM0.03 dividend coming also people queue to sell big volume at this range. Effectively, selling RM0.03 lower as losing out on the dividend.

Not only buy new business. But have to show 2 quarters of profit after buying the new business and only than make an application to bursa to to get it removed from PN17 status.

Yesterday was a good day. No buyback, stock up with good volume. Might indicate accumulation has started and will create a new base/support for the share price. Will be nice to see the uptrend continue today without buy back..

Looks like they are continuing with their RM0.06 yearly dividend. At the last AGM they said they intend to give yield higher than Bank FD rate. Looks like they are keeping to their word.
Can't wait for them to buy a profitable company. As once get out of PN17, share price should hit RM2.30. Patience, keep for about a year and can more than double your money.
I am still collecting, the long term dividend adjusted graph still showing a uptrend.

Yes, who knows.
1) I maybe dreaming that they will pay dividend twice a year of 3 cents each. We will know in a few months time.
2) I think after all the buy backs, majority share holder is now closer to 40%, but I may be dreaming again.
3) Directors are responsible and would like to keep their reputation by not over paying for new biz, as not to effect their reputation and ownership in other publically traded companies. But again, I may be dreaming.
Like I said, calculated risk.
