Precisely, it needs money and Bintai, if it agrees, will provide for that. But only if vaccine is a success. So far, no news far or near, so how?

ThousandWishes Both Seagate & WD are in SSD after some acquisitions. Like all other disruptive technologies, in both SSD & electric vehicles mechanical metal parts are vastly reduced. Is there any spindle in static SSD?
No but I don't think JCY is the type to sit on their laurels and wait for the sky to fall. Right now, the bulk of their biz is from enterprise HDD, I think. Which is good for another one or two financial years

ThousandWishes Say whatever one wishes to say. The fact is the future of JCY isn't with HDD where margins are razor thin. It's with precision metal casting where currently HDD is the bulk of JCY business. Hopefully its auto business (plus other sectors) would flourish even though with electric vehicles turning into mainstream hopefully soon the number of metal parts would be drastically reduced. Whether one likes it or not, HDD would be history in future like floppy drive. When is the future is everyone's guesses.
Correct, except that they have also investments in SSD parts supply I believe. Right now, although personal device HDD have greatly been impacted, industrial HDD are very much in high demand. Check the earnings and demand for Seagate and Western Digital

There is a difference between investing on facts and gambling on rumours. If facts are presented, it doesn't meant people are spreading negative news. If people are spreading negative news, then dissect it and see if there is any shred of evidence. Investing hard earned money is not done on beliefs and assumptions. It needs concrete evidence of profitability. As a former, I think rather than brush off this and that (except when people rattle off nonsense unrelated to this), why not everyone start digging up facts on this company? And its venture-company, Generex? Two things will at least happen - one, people will not just pump and dump because we are collectively smarter. Two - the owners of the company will dare not fool around and be made accountable for the claims and rumours about the company - who knows, they may engage in better investor relations.

@calvintaneng What is Bintai?
Neoh's book, not sure if it is still available, is a good read. Those days, traders dont have software help charts. They do a lot of homework. Read and read and buy. Now, it is easier. To find out anything, just google. In this case, people jump on the bandwagon or any topic to try make a wild guess and some got burn, some singed, and some untouched and made profits. Way I see it, just do the homework. Google down the company, and the subject of interest. If you dont become a good investor and make money, at least you wil be rich with knowledge than can be used in the future. In Bintai's case - just read what Bintai is doing, what it will do and with whom. In this case, Generex. Then read up what is Generex, what it is doing and what is the outcome. Then look for confirmation in people's confidence in what it is doing - ie. reflected in its stock price. If it is on the right track, investors - or venture capitalists - will move in even before you an I hear of rumour. So look for these investors by monitoring the releases and stock price. It will give you more confidence - or not - to put your money where you think will be profitable.

There is no vaccine yet. Only claims that what Generex vaccine is composed of and used. It has not proven itself, so why are everyone so caught up about this? If you bought in after the agreement signing between Bintai and Generex, you should also read what the agreement comprises. Buying without research is like throwing money away.
2020-09-22 09:17 | Report Abuse
@zhm540 Bintai has the right to produce vaccine under Generex license and has the right to distribute to Malaysia and other countries. So what do you expect government to do? Buy imported product or use locally produce vaccine?
22/09/2020 9:05 AM
Correct. They also have first right not to go through with the deal which is why Bintai is also not dumb enough to circumvent any problems. Way I see it, they know what they are doing and must have done some due diligence first before signing.
2020-09-21 17:16 | Report Abuse
@eYuppie With its signing agreement on the vaccine, today its stock price still slightly down by 0.005, cannot understand coz thought that it would shoot up high, why?
Because the vaccine is still being developed. No company in the world has successfully created a safe vaccine to be used worldwide. China leads by preempting need for more safety tests. Astrazaneca halted its human trials because of some unexplained side effects but is now back on track.
As to whether who can distribute Covid vaccine in the country, Duopharma and Pharmaniaga are appointed ones. You need to understand if Bintai is working with Generex for what kind of vaccine for Covid. If Bintai is not confident, would the directors be so dumbassed to have signed this agreement? We are not talking playthings - people talk in forums as if they are on the board of directors and in command of due diligence. As if the board of directors dont know that Pharmaniaga and Duppharma's roles in this latest race for vaccine distribution, and knowing they cant distribute as claimed, still go ahead and sign a binding agreement and be liable to pay millions of dollars. It would look dumbassed wouldnt it?

"Through the collaboration, which is for an initial period of five years, the digital platform developer of eConfirm.my would help transform the iconic Yellow Pages Business Directory into a digital business community of e-marketplace."
Does anyone understand what this sentence means? People keep bashing Yellow Pages as being passe, but does anyone understand what Appasia is aiming for, at revenue-sharing basis here? We are talking at the first business directory with a huge database extending 40 years, and till now. Anyone who are in the tech business will surely know that content is king where social media is concerned. But for e-market places, if you are starting out big, wouldn't you also want to work with existing Yellow Pages' business data rather than harvest data on your own?

@jungleboy - that is correct. This is a monopoly business, the e.confirm. Probably it will also go to regional countries. Kok Heng Actually i dont care about yellow pages, i love econfirm
09/09/2020 1:06 PM
Now that's a good approach. So what if it's now this level - if you have money, can even top up. Very little has changed. As businesses open, e.confirm will have to be used by the group of banks now clients. More will join in as the MIA will sell it. So, if fundamentals don't change, what is there to panic? Panic for some is opportunity for others. Keep a level head. Then you may survive this. This is nothing yet, not even close to 1997 bloodbath.

Look at last Friday, this + sign appear. It reads of indecision. People are sensing what was coming. The following Monday, it opened 1.44 and hit a high of 1.48 before dropping to 1.28 and saved to the close of 1.33. Tuesday's performance was almost similar and today, Wednesday, more or less the same. Volume was also not big but it tells of retail players who do not have means to hold to eventually cash out. Tomorrow, more likely it will remain unless the Dow and Nasdaq hits a high again. From what is being seen on US channels, I think very unlikely sentiments will grow suddenly bullish - September is not a good buying month, now made worse by the US-China scuffle. As US nears its elections, more volatility can be expected. At the end of the day, analyse HLT's fundamentals. What is its orderbook and how much investment into future production is it undertaking - and will this future investment (setting up glovelines of its own) prove to be its Archilles Heel, knowing that the gloves business is getting saturated and a production line needs about a year to get running to a max? Do some homework during a time like this - fretting and praying wont help. Panic usually follows lack of knowledge.

@High5 KUALA LUMPUR: AppAsia Bhd has sealed an agreement with Telekom Malaysia Bhd to develop the Yellow Pages digital platform for an initial five years.
For all all it's worth, the Yellow Pages before advent of the Internet is the default reference for businesses and over the previous millienia, it has collated a huge database of businesses in various categories. If you look carefully into it, that is the content TM is touting. If this can be digitised, imagine the database of information to various businesses that can be categorised, for advertisers to reach out to. In investing, I think there is no need to feel panic when the market is red. If you know your stuff and rely less on rumours from people who know next to nothing, then youdont have to worry. Just rely on the facts. Look into the past and how search engines grow - before Google, there were many others - Yahoo, Netscape, Metacrawler and even one Dogpile which runs several search engines in one search. What is Dogpile doing that others are not? Deep mining the engines (database) of those engines. Today, Google does that with new technology. When Google started, would you have given it any chance if it was ranked between Yahoo, Netscape, or even Metacrawler?

JXnotJAX with Mara's help, can econfirm become something compulsory for audit firms moving forward?
It doesn't need Mara. Mara is merely one substantial shareholder. The eConfirm has been endorsed by the industry. This will be the reference point for it to take off to regional countries. Dont forget, major audit entities also have Asean presence, if not bigger regions. That is enough for now. With eConform having its own legs to grow, I am sure Appasia is moving to other stuff, including the rumored work with TM. Estimates for the next two months should be around 90-110 in price. Dont forget, Rakuten was among first top funds to identify its potential. Maybe Credit Suisse will also be eyeing a piece of the pie.

Fact that they are working with MIA will allow quicker adoption. They will probably use the same model when they market regionally.
