Read the market annocuement on cash repayment: http://www.malaysiastock.biz/Company-Announcement.aspx?id=992327

Just to recapture and add further to what other forumers and sifus have commented.

QUIPS:
1.If ex-date is 22 August(which is Tuesday),you have to hold on to the shares and NOT to SELL until the market closed for the trading on 21 August evening.
2.But if you sell on 21 August that means you have FORFEITED your rights for the cash repayment.
3.But then if you sell on 22 August you are still ELIGIBLE and ENTITLED to the cash repayment.
4.QR y-o-y will also be announced before end August which will be an improvement by % term.

Outcome: Hope there will be no BLACK SWAN event( like US-NK war rhetoric) during this interval.Then one can reap and enjoy a good reasonable capital returns.Better than DY pa offered by your banks to you.The strong catalysts above will propel and underpin the price upwards.

Hopefully,everything positive is INTACT and all Alcomates can usher and celebrate our 60-th year of Merdeka.And go to the Golden Palace.Cheers:-)))

@huahtai98 agreed with your comment.
2. Most companies owned and managed under Hong Leong are performing very well.Just named a few- Hong Leong Bank(HLB),MPI-semi-condcutor business; Hong Leong Industries(HLI).
3.Some companies like Tasek Cement even though recently recorded QR y-o-y lower profits,but the loyal shareholders were rewarded with good dividends annually.
4.Its honcho-Tan Sri Quek Leng Chan is ranked one of the Top Ten richest billionaires in Malaysia. He disliked publicity but demonstrate strong entrepreneurial nerve,drive,muscle,brain and spirit and very savvy in any deal-making.Business news had ranked him as one of the top deal-making businessmen.
5.His international business stretched far and wide from Malaysia to Singapore,China,Hong Kong,UK,etc

Outcome: Expect this coming QR y-o-y will be a remarkable performance which will help to underpin and propels its share price upwards.Would not be surprised if the analysis by many forumers and sifus here are proven correct,barring any adverse Black Swan event(like the US-North Korea rhetoric standoff).Earlier its has lagged behind Ann Joo in share price performance but the wait for SS to catch up is will come before end-August.And time for us to celebrate our 60th year of Merdeka:-)))
Good luck.

@TheContrarian the additional amount paid to IPIC is RM 40 millions.Sigh:-(((

Questions asked:

Q1 : Within two weeks the additional amount to be met is RM 40 millions.Big sum of money!.Can send 40 students to pursue medicine studies in United Kingdom for five years,as an example.Isn't the power-that-be has a strict fiduciary duty to ensure that such repayment obligations as mutually agreed is paid on time!
Q2 : What is the reason for the delay and failure in meeting the repayment obligation? Truth has to be revealed.The investing public can perceive correctly it is not the "technical matter" that caused the payment not to be met.Government has available huge resources at its disposal to ensure such matter is settled.Thus there are other reasons behind this saga?
Q3.Was there a failure on the part of the duty holder whether individually,seperately or collectively in discharging such an important duty on repayment exercise? If so,then the person(s) has/have to be surcharged and action taken against him/them.
Q4: Was proper attention duly given to the repayment matter? The failure has the negative repercussions apart from additional charges-interest but also dented the country's standing in the eyes of the sovereign bonds holders.
Q5: Where is the source of the fund received for such repayment?

Outcome: More clarity on the repayment exercise is owned to the citizens and investing public.We would like to be properly informed.

1. @songson says if the Domestic Inquiry(DI) on Z has been completed by the Panel,the DI's report has to be forwarded and given FIRST to the Board of Directors(BOD) for their attention,deliberations before they can release any public statement on the finding.Maybe the BOD's spokesman will just issue the public statement on the determination of the DI.
2.The due process has to be followed otherwise it can be opened for a lot of questions later on.
3.In the first place such corporate saga shouldn't happen.
4.Whatever dis-agreement,discord and disputes shall be handled and managed internally within the BOD.
5.But they failed to do so.Now the saga is openly in full public glare and attention.Attract not positive perception and sentiment from the equity market and investors to the company.

Outcome: Painful,abject and costly corporate lesson to be learnt.On reflection,they should do the right thing,and do the thing right.

Points of conjecture:

1.The Black Swan event is something the market-place players cannot predict correctly.It had happened in the past and will be repeated again.
2.The worrying point is this Kim of North Korea.As a young and reclatritant leader of a secluded nation he is too immature and arrogant to act and respond responsibly.The worrying part is that he is too provocative and beyond the influence of his closet ally which is China.
3.South Korea is worried because the Seoul,capital of South Korea is close to the border of North Korea and there is a number of warheads pointing towards the bustling metropolis.
4.It is unlike Iran which used to sabre-rattling with US but the threat to US territory is so far away.
5.In this case if going by the news wire,NK has developed ICBM which can strike Guam- one of US protected territory then one would expect a full-blown war to happen.

Outcome: Geo-political risk emanating from NK is high of such tension is not mitigated..If the crisis blown up one will expect a full-scale nuclear strike first by US to stamp out the risks.That will provoke China and USSR nearby.

@curious2 thanks for the post.

1.Citizens can show patriotism in many ways and not merely by posting,hanging and waving the national flag which is named Jalur Gemilang.
2.These mini-flags were ordered and issued out to every gomen agencies every year on the approach of national day which falls on 31 August.The flags received were issued out to be displayed in the office,the working stations of the officers and the counters.Going by such practices and doings are you saying they are more patriotic than other for examples the KL-lites ( where DBKL issued the flags on the directive of the minister but those city folks failed to display them).
3.Such issues cropped up again and again the cybersphere where there were many differing views,comments,opinions made, and got to nowhere. And this year is no different!.
4.But one has to appreciate there are many ways to show that one is patriotic to the country:
i. Standing up when the national anthem is played.That I noticed every one and most of us do.
ii.Abiding,following and upholding on Rules of Laws and not Rules by Laws in the system of administration and management involving the national interest ,security, and sovereignity;
iii.Upholding and cherished the values and principles of Rukun Negara;
iv.Pray at the temple,church,mosque,and other place of worships for the well-being,security and progress of the country on the eve and day of 31 August or Merdeka;
v.Cheers for our national teams in international events like the coming SEA Games in late August 2017.

The listing of examples goes on...

Outcome: Citizens can show the spirits of patriotism in a lots of ways.That for every citizens to make his/her choice or preference.

@FGV_ to add further recently my family members of eight applied for 32K of Lotte Chemicals@ RM 8.00 and we received all what we applied for because the IPO were undersubscribed.(We too have other shares in many other listed companies).
2.Later the IPO was revised downwards by Lotte with its Investment Banks(IBs-local and foreign) to RM 6.50.
3.And the issuing company offered the share-buyback option for ALL successful applicants to exercised the option within 5 days from the listing date.We surrendered all what we got because the IPO opening price was below the issuing price .We got the full re-imbursement within Ten (10) working days.Lotte honoured their promises and undertakings to the public shareholders who are retail investors.To know more about my writings on Lotte,please goes to that investors' column on Lotte and analysed my thoughts and comments over there.

2.I am consistent and objective with my comments so far.All supported by facts and analysis.

3.If the performance is bad to the core we have to say it is bad.How to say it is good when in reality it is mediocre.That is the basic.Now the actual situation within FGV and Felda have been laid bare publicly for all to read and analyse.

4.Such open corporate tussle involving the BODs and Zkaria+ 3others that flared out in the open and publicly is all unwarranted and costly.We as shareholders- the indirect witness, to such unhealthy saga is also affected adversely in our share investment on FGV.
