On the contrary, I think TF and Kama are the ones being quite deceptive. Kama once said "special div" to AAX shareholders after AAC done, now "exploring ways to enhance shareholders' value" - put 2 and 2 together and you get the idea that something may be in the works. Nevertheless, if they're going to privatise or undertake some sort of corporate action, by all means do it, but only announce it when its a firm proposal. All this airy fairy stuff quite useless and manipulative. Next day blame the papers...wth, as if he didn't expect them to come out with that headline. Having said that, I'm still holding for now (bought in at about 34 cents). Let's see where this takes us.

If AA's share price will drop 0.12 after ex-date to adjust for dividend, and on the assumption that the price will move back up 0.12 fairly soon after that, means quite worth it to buy the shares to enjoy the dividends right? Seems to simple, or am I missing something?

On hedging of fuel requirements, I understand that it is done a year ahead, i.e. the company hedges next year's requirements now while this year's requirements were hedged last year. Does this mean that whatever AAX hedges now, the benefit of the hedge will only be truly felt next year?

I'm reading a lot about how the US markets are reaching or should be close to reaching its peak now, with the inevitable crash or correction coming due to the "everything bubble" in the making. Assuming there is a crash in the US markets, to what extent do you think AA will be affected? I'm seeing a lot of different factors in play, e.g. AA revenue is derived primarily from local/ regional markets, stronger MYR will benefit AA, volatility of oil will not help, tourist numbers will go down across the globe as spending softens... Would like a sense of what the experts think about this.

P.s. please do not argue about whether a crash is or is not coming, let's just assume it has happened and would now like to figure out the impact on AA. radzi, good summary. I like the last sentence. Too many contra/ short-term players have a distorted view of the real value.

Most fellas here seem to be traders instead of investors (in the fundamental/ value investing sense), perhaps that's why even a less than 5% drop is considered a correction or sell down =.="

radzi et al, thanks for your views. One more important question is, to what level is the price expected to reach? I'm hearing at least RM0.80 (which I've mentioned here once or twice before), not sure whether anyone has heard the same or something else?

AAX/ aviation is generally cyclical in nature, with 2nd and 3rd quarters usually no as good as 1st and 4th. How do you apply the KYY principle to this? Compare current quarter to corresponding quarter of last year? That does not differ much from the usual method of analysis then?

I bought into AAX quite late (about 34 cents) as I did not manage to catch the early bus, and did not sell when it went up to 50 cents as I believe that 50 cents still undervalues the company by quite a lot. Let's hope it moves way past that threshold this year!

Hi Radzi, could you briefly explain how AA price of 3.19 - 3.22 correlates to AAX's movement? I'm invested in both but am quite surprised as to why AAX's movement compares so badly against AA's.
