# ooi - here you go. Good night !
Of late you have been coming in quite often to chat with mc, sky and connie,
Otherwise you will be spending time with members of your beloved family.
It is important for a woman to understand what should be her foremost priority.

# ooi - no worries, better later than never. Very good indeed, you are only being humble in saying it's difficult. As long as you put your brain into work, it will work. Give me a few minutes, I will put one up for you as an appreciation for your effort - will try to be simple and relevant.

# connie - aiyo, I only said I need 10 to 15 minutes to form proper sentences. I already had in mind what to write when having my lunch. Probably to come out with the whole thing may take 30 to 45 minutes.

# connie / ooi - I feel rather embarrassed that sjscm3 is singing praise on me. I am not that smart as what he thinks. But ooi, you have to appreciate his kindness, generosity in guiding you which (sorry) I cannot do it as my investment strategy has no known basis, just from experience.

# Stockwatch - on SA , it's a long story and if you don't mind, would
suggest that you read my earlier postings as to how I do it. Although I do not follow FA or TA or but to think of it, SA does incorporate
some of the criteria of these approaches as I also look at price and
volume trends (but without charts) and the financials of the company
(but not in great details). Then you have to use your judgement (accumulated through years of experience) to time your entry and exit points.

# rchi / hiddengem / stockwatch / mc - yes 39 stocks, sounds rather
unbelievable. I would strongly advise not to follow because if not closely and properly managed will only benefit the stockbroking firms through incurring of commission.

# hiddengem - sorry, just got back from dinner. Ya, whole afternoon was scouting for some stocks to trade tomorrow but have to see that there must be some volume building up. Also was finalizing my P&L for November which incidentally the best month for as this year in terms of returns achieved from the market. Sold a total of 39 stocks in the month with 29 securing gains and 11 incurring losses, representing a "success" rate of about 72%. The bulk of profits undoubtedly came from EAH, far ahead of Greenyield and FLB etc. Biggest loser is Careplus (about RM700).
Anyway good night to all, have to keep wife company to watch Astro.

# Ringgit to trend lower - Bernama Report
The ringgit is likely to trend lower against the US dollar next week following the gloomy outlook expected for emerging Asian currencies in December.
A dealer said concerns that the US Federal Reserve might start scaling back its stimulus packages before the year-end prompted investors to liquidate their positions.
“The timing of the tapering remained uncertain with traders currently expecting the partial scaling back to occur in the first quarter of next year while some predicted as early as next month,” he said. Meanwhile, another dealer said the ringgit could end the year at 3.30 per dollar and weaken to 3.35 in 2014 before easing further to 3.40 in 2015.On a week-to-week comparison, the ringgit ended lower for the sixth consecutive week at 3.2215/2245 per US dollar from 3.2140/2170 last Friday.
This was the longest losing streak since 2005 which was prompted by signs of a pickup in the US economy bolstered by speculation that policy makers will trim the stimulus package.
The local unit firmed against the Singapore dollar to 2.5678/5703 from 2.5691/5734 last Friday, rose against the Japanese yen to 3.1469/1514 from 3.1815/1848 previously.
It weakened against the British pound to 5.2604/2663 from 5.2076/2138 last Friday and declined against the euro to 4.3832/3885 from 4.3367/3420 previously.

# kcchongnz - your last two paragraphs are so very logical and sensible. Just hope that the newbies and those who hope to get rich fast from the market will take heed.
"When the market is on the way to bullish, only good fundamental stocks will perform. do you see those stocks like KNM, Smartag, Amedia, XDL, Patimas, HBGLOB, GCB, Ivory etc etc outperforming during this bull market?
Yes some rubbish stocks appear to perform, but they are more of syndicate plays. It is only when the tide goes down you can see who is swimming naked."

# Mike - good morning. I reckon the impact should be very minimal as a fundamentally sound and well-managed company can still attract investors. Local funds have to abide by the rules and regulations of the Islamic Capital Market but it would not affect foreign investment houses like Aberdeen or Goldman Sach etc.
Below shows what is meant by Shariah-compliance:-
Shariah-compliant securities are securities (ordinary shares, warrants and transferable subscription rights) of a Bursa Malaysia-listed company, which have been classified as Shariah permissible for investment based on the company's compliance with Shariah principles in terms of its primary business and investment activities

#invest88 SC has just released a list of Shariah compliant securities where 158 securities have been excluded and the new list was trimmed down to 653 stocks now.
Notable deletions include Fibon, Engtex, Pantech , Yinson, Ann Joo , Tiong Nam Logistics, Patimas, MRCB etc.The fund managers are given 6 months to rebalance their portfolio......so these stocks may come under selling pressure which includes Tan Chong, Keck Seng,Air Asia to name a few.

# mikekong - on EAH, this is very typical when a counter suddenly becomes hyper active when no one was paying attention a few months ago. In fact I can say that not many people knew that such a counter exist. This is my most profitable counter for this year. I first bought into this stock 2 years ago at 23 sen (after ex-bonus price) but it kept dropping. And when it dropped to 15 sen I started to average all the way down to 12 sen with about 600,000 shares. However as usual I starteded selling from 15.5 sen onwards when it started to move (because of false alarms in previous 3 times) until 21 sen. Now I am left with just 50 lots. anyway no regrets.

Let's do a bit of analysis. Last year EAH made 5.9 million. The announcement says it secured a project for 59 million. Assuming a net margin of 10%, it comes to 5.9 million which is equivalent of the whole of last year's profit. Thus it is not logical for the share of the price to remain at current level. It's just a matter of holding power. Even if it goes up by 1 sen, it gives you a return of about 7.7% (based on closing price of 13 sen). Just be extra patient. The downside is limited with strong support at 12 sen.
