tsy88 - as long as you profited (on Sntoria) just move on. No one can sell at the highest and this is a very common phenomenon unless you use TA to set your target prices.
Not really have to go outstation but only those branches nearby which involves a day trip. Seremban is just 45 minutes away.

tsy88 - hope you entered Tekseng and profited from it. Was busy the whole day in Seremban to do some work. Bought some MRCB WA this morning before I left and towards the close of trading cut PTB for a 1 sen loss and switched to AHB. Came back just a while ago and now have to go out again.

tsy88 - good morning. Yup should be some selling today but I reckon would be subdued as quite a lot of contra players would have taken the opportunity to dispose on Thurs and Fri when the prices rebounded. If indeed there is another massive selling these tow days, the overall market confidence will probably be shattered which may lead to a real correction.

tsy88 - take it as tuition fees. As I said, one will get wiser after going through the various market scenarios over the years. Yes selling (especially cutting loss) is the most difficult decision in stock trading.

tsy88 - good morning. I reckon you have been long enough in the market to know most of the points I mentioned. But then it's easier said than done and, including myself. Once a while I also break my own rules.

Profitman - good morning. Nothing much really but it is my fervent hope to the newbies especially that they know stock trading is not so simple as one thinks. The most importing thing is avoid losses.

Bs1688 - if you were to read my postings I do not use TA or FA and honestly I do not read many books on share trading. For investment, books written by Benjamin Graham and Peter Lynch should be good. Perhaps you may want to look into kcchongnz's postings as he often introduces good reference books for the forumers. In fact just reading kc's articles alone will bring you immense knowledge and benefits for medium to long term investment.

sy88 - yes luck is definitely a factor in all forms of gaming but in shares one also needs to have some sense of logic and do some study before trading blindly. I also have the benefit from years of experience. Of about the 1,200 counted listed (excluding warrants)probably I would have traded in about 800 stocks and thus whatever company that crops up I roughly have an idea what it does, the FA of the company, it's high and low etc. It helps save time in my analysis. Good night.

profitman - my sincere apologies. I was the one who overlooked your answer. Sorry again.
You are right I do have an "exit plan" which is unlike TA which you pre-set. Once I sensed that the price is reversing or that the market sentiment is losing strength I just sell since with any pre-set cut loss prices or lock in profit prices. Probably it's due to all these years of trading and is working well for me.
Like I mentioned to tsy88 - I sold almost all my penny stocks on Tuesday before the massive sell down on Wednesday and on Wednesday morning I also cleared some medium-hold stocks.
There were a few occasions in the last, probably 10 years, once the volume hits a new record very significantly, a sell down is imminent int he next day and the situation will last a few days to a few weeks before the sentiment returns.
Good night and thanks for your input to my question again.

tsy88 - like I mentioned based on yesterday's movement, the selling on PDZ and Sumatec is not over yet although at times the prices go up. However today's selling has scaled down (just my observation). Did some trades today - sold 50% AAX CL at 9 sen (bought at 7.5 sen yesterday - will keep the rest up to 14 or 15 sen as advised by rchi). Also cleared Ecofirst for a 1 sen gain since announcement is out. Bought into PTB at 18.5 sen (holding on). Had good intra gains from Nihsin (mentioned yesterday). Spotted GLB in the morning but hesitated to go in and then all of a sudden it went up so fast. Missed it.

profitman / matrix - just for my learning curiosity. As you know when say, PDZ and Sumatec was having a great run many TA practitioners are saying it will go up further ans setting TP. They reached new hihgs (PDZ 42 sen and Sumatec 92 sen) on Tuesday. My question is when the downtrend started from the high, was there any TA readings to indicate at which points one should get out. Thanks in advance !

Tsy88 , yup glad to be in the mailing list. Though I have my own approach definitely I can only benefit from his trading ideas. My picks have no known techniques but I trust that with their expertise in TA, they will take a deep look before making any buy decision.

matrixcool - appreciate your kindness and generosity in including me in your list which I am sure will provide me with good and additional reference in trading. (To yoda88 too) - however I do not have a list to inform others about my picks (not based on TA as you know) but I surely will have no reservations in informing you what I spot soonest possible (at any time of the day If I see it on the screen.

Hi matrix , by the way I would like to seek your consent in including me in your mail list. Though I do not use TA it would be a very good reference and if my pick is favourable according to the charts it will reinforce my confidence. Anyway learning is a never ending process and definitely I have no qualms in gaining knowledge .

tsy88 - as I mentioned before I do not touch counters like Gkent / Johan and the Berjaya group. Yes. PDZ and Sumatec staged a rebound but I reckon the selling has not stopped especially the former. I would prefer to go for Ijacobs and Nihsin - solely based on my observation. Emico and Dataprep are both losing money - only okay for quick trades.
AAX Cl looks tempting at this level.

tsy88 - wanted to be on the sidelines today but couldn't control my itchy hands. Did one and only trade today for some whisky money. Spotted Emico in early trade and bought some at 25.5 sen. Then before leaving keyed -in to sell at 28 sen. Was done in the afternoon. In fact it went to a high of 32 sen. Nevertheless contented with the gain.

profitman - concur with your view. Even though some stocks which were battered down yesterday rebounded the overall market sentiment is still not encouraging.
inwest88 - in the past, after a sell off when the market trades at feverishly high volumes, I noticed it takes a couple of days for the market to recover. You are right, the key question is whether the rebound is sustainable.
2014-08-21 19:19 | Report Abuse
sunshine96 - congrats in getting out in time for gains. In stock trading selling is the most difficult part and you will soon get to all post-selling emotions day by day. matrix is absolutely correct in advocating a 'locking in" profit policy which I practice myself. Just take note that a one dollar realized gain is always better than a ten dollars paper profits as evidenced from the sell down yesterday when paper profits turned to realized losses for some people.
2014-08-21 08:29 | Report Abuse
Tsy88 - it depends whether this is a genuine correction as the market can take on various scenarios, a meaningful rebound, rebound in early trading and continue its downtrend or stay stagnant fur a while etc...

tsy88 - good morning. Was lucky to sell almost all my penny stocks on Tuesday as I mentioned the market has to take a breather. yesterday morning also cleared some medium-hold stocks like Fitters, GHL, Ho Hup etc when I noticed that the sentiment is dropping in the late morning despite the index in the green. Will how the sentiment today. Pity those who are trapped in PDZ and Sumatec. Being the market leaders once they fall, the whole market will (on goreng stocks) will follow in tandem.

tsy88 - like matrix says, not easy to trade Bones' picks. If you were to noticed, one day before Bones; picks comes out there is a surge in volume of that counter which means some people have already gone in and when it gaps up in the next morning most of them are ready to clear to make handsome profits. Those going in the next can hardly gain. Just my opinion.

tsy88 - good morning ! have to be really selective but then again even though the market is bad there are bound to be some counters moving up. Yes I know about AAX results as mentioned by rchi but from a high of 15 sen a few days ago the current price would have factored all the negatives in. Most counters have gone too high and thus will only look at the screen in the first 15 to 20 minutes to decide if there are any counters worth trading. You have a pleasant and productive day ya !

tsy88 - just back from a Raya Open House. despite busy in the office today, managed to clear a few stocks.
EAH, PDZ, Ijacobs, Nihsin, Symlife WA, OCNCash (with gains) and cut Ecofisrt with a 1 sen loss. Bought some AAX CL
I reckon the market is "too hot" at the moment with the focus on penny stocks and with a massive volume. Thus I reckon it has to take a pause. Thus I will not only reduce my trading positions but also take the opportunity to lock in profits for the "medium term hold" stocks like Gadang, Fitters, GHL, Ho Hup, Amprop etc whilst keeping the blue chips.
Good night to all at TCB here.

tsy88 - yesterday was my off day but went out half a day but still managed to so some trades. Af I am at the house I can do more than 10 trades a day - very common. With the Dow up< I reckon the local market should be able to continue its fine run.
Ho Hup is not so much for trading. I bought it when it was and stagnated at about the 1.33 / 1.34 level. Sold half at 1.53. Looking forward to buy back but have to keep for medium term. They have a lot of viable projects on hand.
As there are still quite a number of counters on hand, will trade less today. IW City has broken out and poised to move further but again not for trading. Some counters will not allow contra players to make money. GMutual looks okay.
Will be selling my Ijacobs upon listing today Hopefully can fetch a good price. Nihsin (mentioned several times) also broke through. Will see how it goes before deciding to lock in profits. Would be selling the balance of EAH as I reckon 20 sen is a fair value although the announcement is not out. Been told to keep PDZ (not my pick) for a while so keeping the other 50%.
Have a pleasant and profitable trading day. Need to go for marketing and back to see the screen for 15 to 20 minutes before off to work.

tsy88 - just back from a few beers ! Had a good trading today with the following trades (on those counters I mentioned except Symlife)
PDZ - in at 27.5 but sold half at 30 sen
Astino - in at 1.82 and sold at 1.82 with loss in commission
Ideal - quick trade at 73 sen. Key-in to sell at 77 sen and done (almost forgotten about it)
Ecofirst - in at 36 sen
Symlife - in at 1.16 When rchi mentioned the warrants, sold at 1.20 and switched to the son at 51 sen.
Hope you had a profitable day too with Arank etc.
