Just curious, isn't the hedge loss suppose to cover the sudden dip in crack margin? The increases is hedge losses is partly due to increased sales volume as well. In other words, In other words , the hedge losses recognised in Q2 is what will protect the margin in Q3. The margin won't be fantastic but the growth in volume should help.

New to this forum but amazed at what I see. 3 consequtive qtrs of sustained growth while maintaining 50% np margin amidst a pandemic & political uncertainty is pretty impressive achievement. The mgnt team has done a tremendous job!!!

When driving on the road, we obviously look out for bad driver or road bullies. This does not mean tolerating their bad behaviour or the traffic police shouldn't arrest law breakers.

TG's orderbook backlog = 18mths, Adv payment = 900m and macquarie says end of game by 2021? if TG makes 3b next 2-3 qr, they have no intelligent way of investing it in r&d and other innovations? what kind of financial modelling tells you to ignore the next 5 qrs and downgrade the TP for a simplistic fcst that growth would be slower.........
We're talking new normal but got analyst using old world scenarios to scare ppl. Why don't they upgrade airline industry saying that by end 2021, tourism would become robust again and up Airline TP by 30%........... Furthermore, TG was not even interviewed regarding growth sustainability beyond fy2021. Such a major assumption and TG's mgnt input was not sought out at all. The intention is clearly to hurt the stock price.......

Impairment loss on property, plant and equipment were wholly contributed by an additional impairment provision of RM29,712,000 (FY2018: RM90,098,000) as a result of lower net realisation value in comparison to the net carrying amount for the plants, properties, equipment as required under MFRS 136. There is no cash flow impact in this impairment provision
The above is the excerpt from JCY's annual report. 50% writeback is ~ RM55m!

I just don't understand this. Maybank, CIMB & Public Bank's PAT tanked and no dividend from Maybank. Super's PAT went from <50m to 500m with $2b still left in their order book and $1b in cash. They're giving bonus shares and dividends next week. TG is likely to announce similar PAT as Maybank 2 wks from now. How can any IB, traders etc talk negative about them? Show me another listed co with better value proposition, strong BS, excess CF, TAM, growth prospect and mgnt today. They are expanding which means they are hiring and making capital purchases. Can you imagine the unemployment rate of our country without glove's economic activities by itself and downstream?

Great work! May I raise a few points
1. Interest income - RM1.2b of cash is not without its benefits. In q4's income statement, interest exp = RM17m. We can safely assume RM15m savings here......?
2. Depreciation of new assets might incur higher depreciation. Q4's Fixed asset increase ard RM100m means ard RM3-4m of addt'l depr'n per qtr assuming an avg useful life off 8 yrs. Not sure if this is already included in the 15% cost increase

the company has shown fiscal discipline in keeping cost down. Is it reasonable to expect further cost efficiency. What other initiatives or strategy have been undertaken to counter Covid-19?

Hi Sardin, I understand that there are volume commitment to Chevron for the ethanol produced. Is this the main reason holding back KNM from announcing their capacity/capability? In fact, their plant was built to enable switching between producing ethanol for blending and medical use easily. I'm guessing that the plunge in ethanol price in April was only partly mitigated by the surge in demand and price for medical ethanol in late May. This is why KNM was very silent in this matter. I am therefor very optimistic about the upcoming QR especially with their second plant that should be at full utilisation.

Got a question for all the sifu_s here. I hold some C72 expiring in nov-20. The premium has dropped to 1% today. Is this normal with 4mths left to go b4 expiry?

nta = 0.50; isn't it tempting for a shareholder to gather enough shares to make some sound? The fat duck has drawn a lot of attention. If it still refuse to lay eggs, someone might just decide to catch and eat the duck.

Their Thailand plant is constructed to adapt to different raw materials and can switch 'easily' to produce ethanol safe enough to use for hand gel. Ethanol prices plummeted in Mar and there are lobbying calls to halt blending during this downturn. KNM has a safety net in Chevron but not sure how this could restrict their shift to produce more 'healthcare' grade ethanol. I'm still holding KNM shares.

I've been a quiet observer most of the time for the past few years but the amount of research Sardin put in and his willlingness to share them is truly amazing. I lost money on KNM before but no way he is to blame. In fact, he is the reason why KNM is still in my radar. Thanks Sardine.
