KUALA LUMPUR: LKL International Bhd’s unit LKL Advance MetalTech Sdn Bhd has secured a US$18.96mil (RM78.49mil) contract to supply nitrile gloves to a China-based company.

The healthcare equipment provider said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia that the contract is expected to contribute positively to its earnings while not having a material effect on the net assets and gearing of the company and its subsidiaries for the financial year ending April 30,2021.

This contract represents the company’s first export contract to China, plus its maiden venture into the distribution of examination gloves to the medical and healthcare sector.

In the financial year ended 30 April 2020, LKL International’s revenue contribution from exports stood at RM9mil or 16.5% of its total group revenue. This was an increase from RM6.6mil worth of exports in the preceding financial year.

KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 17): V.S. Industry Bhd shares tumbled in active trade this morning after its net profit fell 7.1% to RM39.81 million for the first financial quarter ended Oct 31, 2018, from RM42.87 million a year ago, mainly due to a loss on disposal of a subsidiary and foreign exchange loss, resulting in a lower earnings per share of 2.32 sen compared with 2.61 sen previously.

At 9.05am, V.S Industry lost 29.91% or 35 sen to 82 sen with 10.06 million shares traded.

Its quarterly revenue was flat at RM1.08 billion compared with RM1.07 billion a year ago.

Nevertheless, the group declared a first interim dividend of one sen per share, payable on March 12.

KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 10): Shares in Prestariang Bhd fell 6.69% at noon today after the Cabinet decided to review the jewel in the company's crown — the RM3.5 billion Sistem Kawalan Imigresen Nasional (SKIN) project.

At 12.15pm, Prestariang fell 3 sen to 42.5 sen with 9.37 million shares traded.

Bernama had reported Home Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin as saying the Cabinet had agreed that the SKIN project be cancelled and replaced with a more comprehensive new system.
