CGS-CIMB believes EITA deserves 'better valuation'
TheEdge Mon, Feb 08, 2021 11:48am - 2 hours ago
KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 8): CGS-CIMB Research believes that EITA Resources Bhd deserves a better valuation as the elevator and escalator maker aims to enhance its overseas revenue.
The research house reiterated its "buy" call on the stock and raised its post-bonus issue target price to RM2.08 from RM2.06. The target price of RM2.08 values the stock at 20 times CY22F P/E (from 10.5 times) which CGS-CIMB said is at about a 30% discount to the global elevator makers’ weighted average 12-month forward P/E of 31 times.
CGS-CIMB’s analyst Kamarul Anwar pointed out that EITA’s net cash rose from RM11.9 million at end-FY9/13 to RM41.2 million at end-FY9/20.
“We also raise our FY9/21-23F net profit forecasts by 4-10% as the company assures us that its operations are not disrupted by the partial lockdowns due to Covid-19,” he said in a note today.
“Earnings from its elevator construction segments should also accelerate as many of the projects in hand are in advanced stages,” he added.
Kamarul also shared that the elevator and escalator maker had disclosed its aspiration of raising its revenue from RM284.1 million in FY9/20 to RM1 billion per annum (p.a.) by FY25 during a conference call last month (Jan 29).
During the session, the group also noted that it is aiming for revenue to grow by over 252% in five years, bringing revenue compound annual growth rate (CAGR) to 28.6%.
Nevertheless, Kamarul said CGS-CIMB is not adopting EITA’s internal ambition as guidance for his forecasts.
“It (EITA) envisions that a sizeable part of the hypothetical RM1 billion per annum revenue would come from mergers and acquisitions (M&As). Without more details, the impact of acquisitions is not something we can forecast,” Kamarul said.
“Besides, EITA’s plans to aggressively grow its overseas operations would require the company to compete directly with established global elevator players. East Asia has become the Mecca for global elevator and escalator manufacturers since this developing region is looking towards high-rise buildings as an economical solution to house the rapidly increasing population. One risk from the stiff competition, we foresee, is it may stifle the group’s plan to build up its overseas revenue,” he added.
He noted that the potential re-rating catalysts include earnings-accretive M&As, new infrastructure-related contract wins and rousing growth in overseas sales. Meanwhile, a total economic lockdown is a downside risk for the stock, he added.
At the time of writing, EITA’s stock was down 3.48% or four sen to RM1.11.

Kenanga expects further sales recovery for JHM
TheStar Thu, Jan 21, 2021 08:46am - 32 minutes ago
KUALA LUMPUR: Kenanga Research anticipates earnings growth for JHM Consolidation Bhd in 4QFY20 as orders from key customers have returned to pre-Covid levels while the final quarter is seasonally strong for the group. The research house, which has a "market perform" recommendation on the group is also positive on its recovery momentum going into FY21 as JHM's eyes 25% year-on-year order growth from its existing customer owing to improving car sales. It added that the order growth could potentially rise further from two or three more new prospects that are still at the qualification phase. On JHM's new customer, Kenanga said the current orders at hand are estimated to be about 8% of the group's FY21 revenue and could potentially grow 4x by 2022 upon securing the supply of PCBA and model assembly, which will require high-end SMT machines. Kenanga maintained a FY20 and FY21 net profit of RM24mil and RM49.8mil respectively. However, its target price was raised to RM2.35 from RM2 previoulst as it gactored in a higher FY21 price-earnings ratio of 26x on greater interest from institutional clients post its Main Market transfer.

Cymao secures subcontract worth RM134m for mixed development project in Perak
TheEdge Wed, Jan 20, 2021 02:14pm - 1 hour ago
KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 20): Cymao Holdings Bhd's unit has secured a subcontract worth RM134.02 million for a proposed mixed development project at Wilayah Sungai Kelian Baru, Mukim Batang Padang in Perak.
According to a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, its wholly-owned subsidiary Billion Apex Sdn Bhd (BASB) today accepted a letter of award from HYC Properties Sdn Bhd for site clearance, hoarding and earthworks for the proposed project.
The group said the completion date for the subcontract works is within 24 months from the commencement date, subject to the requisite approvals from the relevant authorities for the proposed mixed development project having been obtained.
"The company is not privy to information in regard to details of the proposed mixed development project, the estimated gross development value, gross development costs and the overall timeline of the proposed mixed development project as it is merely undertaking the scope of works," said Cymao.
It said it will begin applying for the requisite construction licences, such as construction licence from the Construction Industry Development Board, to enable the company to undertake construction projects.
"At the point of application, the grade of the construction licence to be applied by BASB will depend on the financial qualification of BASB and qualification of the technical personnel to be recruited by BASB.
"Barring any unforeseen circumstances, BASB will submit the application for the construction licence to the Construction Industry Development Board in the second quarter of 2021. In the meantime, BASB will identify and appoint a qualified subcontractor with the requisite licences to undertake the award," said Cymao.
Cymao said over the past few years, the group has seen increasing challenges in the plywood industry and declining revenue from its existing plywood business. Thus, the company has identified construction as a new viable business to improve its financial performance.
As Cymao is relatively new in the construction industry, it said the award would help build its credentials as well as its track record as a construction player in the construction industry.
Moving forward, the group would be more competitive and this would support the group's bid and tender for future construction and project management projects, said Cymao.
"The board believes that the award is expected to provide additional revenue stream and enhance the group's profits, thereby reducing its dependence on the plywood business and improve the group's financial performance and the shareholders' value.
"The award is expected [to] contribute positively to the company's future earnings, earnings per share and enhance the consolidated net assets of the company while the group's gearing will depend on, amongst others, the manner of funding for the award," it added.
At the 12.30pm break, shares in Cymao settled 18 sen or 7.2% higher at RM2.68, giving it a market capitalisation of RM201 million. It saw some 1.51 million shares done.
