BAT..i used to day/short term trade during rm60, to earn few hundred each round trade..

Now BAT performance too much depending govt policy on smoking rules, govt seriousness in tackling illegal smuggling, and vapes trend..don’t know i feel like BAT is ‘hidup x mau, mati pun x mau’

PBB with ciput dividend and limited capital gain staying above pe12…no reason for MBB to stay below pe12

as long MBB pe below 12, it will make hand itchy to many..RM8.90 is pe12 price..price would stay above this..

Me too was active warrant/derivatives/day trader, when young and having high adrenaline level..ha ha..

Later, bila adrenaline level drops and higher commitment kicks in..slowly we will increase on medium & low risk portfolio..

Not many monitoring ex-date..tomorrow when price adjusted to 8.8x and PE below 12..many would rush to buy ‘cheap’..thats my imagination lah what could happen tomolo..but may be now investor more alert 😎

@stkoay..yeah true..me also holding PBB for capital gain..but golden era of PBB capital gain seems over..keep for dividend not worth..so exited full position with some capital gain profit plus ciput dividends..

Normal cycle before dividend..good time to consider lock profit, if you are not long term investor with harimau..

Now price already falling below PEx12, compared to historical PEx13. For some its a bargain, and for some its a loss of confidence.

Anyway, im still holding for past few years at avg 3.93. Still indecisive.

There are few theories. The one i still remember is PE-based theory.

RHB price is around at PEx8, while Maybank price is PEx12, even though both bank EPS is about the same.

Higher the PE, translates the investor’s confidence, on how many years the bank could maintain the similar performance.

MBB - 12yrs
RHB - 8yrs

Usually major banks would priced at PEx12, and other banks lower.

My 2sen only. Please correct me.

PBB should revise their dividend policy.

Dulu eventhough dividend low, but ade capital growth..so investors happy to hold long.

Now, dividend still low, and no capital growth.

Slowly PBB would be suitable for trading only, not investment stock.

RHB’s hefty NIM compression in 1Q23 was buffered by higher NOII and lower credit cost. While results were within expectations, we lower our NIM assumptions and cut FY23-25E earnings by 5-6%.

We maintain a BUY on RHB with a lower TP of MYR6.40, pegging FY23E PBV to a lower PBV of 0.9x versus 1x previously (9.5% ROE against management’s target of 10%). FY23E dividend yield is attractive at >7%. BUY maintained.

PE dropped after better earning in Q1 2023 compared to previous Q1 2022.

So, to answer your question..the price is look ‘cheaper’ now, in term of PE.

I believe the price would side way between PE 12.0 - 12.5 for next 2 month..if no ‘big’ news in between.

Ringgit falling like water fall..FF may surprise us again if no action from Bank Negara.

Since the QR just ‘meet expectation’, traders may brong their money somewhere else.

For long term investors, this might an opportunity..

Maybank QR just meet the expectation..So, traders may dump more..we can collect cheap2 soon..

talking about odd lots..its very special for long2 term investor only..traders shouldn’t consider DRP at all..

worst case if u don’t sell odd lots, u may loss 99 units only..for RHB at current price tak sampai RM550 pun..

kat US, masalah bank ok lagi..masalah lagi besar sekarang, xde duit nak byr debts interest..tgh bincang nak increase debt ceiling..

But if market expecting ‘outperform’ QR…then PE could fly beyond 13.5 also..

Agree..consistent dividend 6-8% is the main reason why we love so much this stock and hold long term..ha ha

I use PE mainly to decide when to top up, to maintain good safety margin.
