The Dow and S&P 500 closed a seventh straight weekly advance on Friday as a better-than-expected jobs report indicated strong economic growth, but perhaps to the point where interest rates could rise sooner than previously anticipated, said Reuters.

AffinHwang IB vice president and head of retail research Datuk Dr Nazri Khan said following the mild strength of the global stocks, he expects the local FBM KLCI to eventually follow other Asian markets and stage an oversold rebound (after declining 7.5% over the last four months due to softening of ringgit & commodities).

“We believe the FBM KLCI is likely to have milder upside next week (albeit with a more volatile session), tracking more bargain hunting rebound, growing fiscal stimulus hopes (Europe, Japan and China), positive global economic data and upside swings of Wall Street and Asian regional indices,” he said.

Nazri said the coincident upturn in USA, China and Eurozone manufacturing PMIs (strongest since June 2013 possibly due to corporate restocking) were encouraging and would provide short term lift to the broad market as investors digest that global economic momentum is still robust this year.

He said the local equity markets however failed to hold above 1,750 support level despite hope for a positive December holiday sales period and further improvement in upcoming year end shopping sentiment.

Nazri, who is also the president of the Malaysian Association of Technical Chartists, said a decent 7.5% correction in the local index from its record high of July 8, 2015, oversold technical positioning and cheaper market valuations leave the index increasingly vulnerable for a quick trading accumulation.

He said further strength above the 1,770 resistance would open the charts up for a larger rally toward 1,800 while a break down below 1,730 would suggest more setbacks towards 1,700 levels.

“On the domestic front, we note that the local index has rallied to an all time-high of 1,896.23 level in July but ever since has been moving downwards until last week when it broke below the psychological threshold of 1,800 points.

“Despite the foreign outflow and selloff seen in Bursa and Ringgit (-7.5% & -9.2%), local market is still holding up largely due to Bursa defensive appeal, resilient current account surplus, higher yield and its lower vulnerability to foreign investor withdrawals,” he said.

FOREX: Ringgit Expected To Improve Against Dollar Next Week

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 29 (Bernama) -- The ringgit is expected to extend its recovery next week, lifted by a bullish outlook on the local stock market and signs of recovery in regional currencies, a dealer said.

The dealer, who forecasts the ringgit to strengthen, said the local unit would be supported by batch of positive global economic releases after the recent drop on oil prices.

"The ringgit led losses among regional currencies and ended a near five-year low as oil prices slumped. It has lost 2.4 per cent so far in November, which would also be its third straight monthly drop," he said.

For the week just ended, the ringgit traded easier against the US dollar at 3.3810/3840 from last Friday's 3.3520/3570.

The local unit also traded lower against other major currencies.

It weakened against the Singapore dollar to 2.5932/5963 from 2.5806/5847 on Friday, slid against the yen to 2.8614/8644 from 2.8424/8461, and depreciated against the British pound to 5.3075/2125 from 5.2450/2514.

It also fell against the euro to 4.2053/1100 from 4.1808/1855 previously.

Just reading shale oil technology used. And it seems simple process n cheaper too ,,,no wonder their costs are lower..in situ porocess they apply heat on oil shale to decompose into kerogene vapors n eventuall cools it down by prylosis process ..those vapors condensed into oil after adding hydrogen..heat energy required to heat up oil shale were recycled from spent ash shale n gas shale.in m mind its staright frwrd process n they just need to control temperature to below 650c to prevent decopomposition of rocks n limestone into releasing co2. Any tom dick n harry can process oilshale given the way the process involves...it is no wonder smaller shale companies are growing relentless ly in canada n us..u dont have to be chemist or physicist to undertsand the process ,its back to school pyrolysis n hydrolysis old days...

A falling knife can turn into falling gold if u are risk takers n willingly stands strong to ur simple principles , what goes down must comes up....its only a question of when ,not if, n when to buy ;certainly in our minds says ,not now...when oil price has not even showed signs of satbilisation..clearly shale -oil gives oilroducers a run of their their money not to mention headache as both prties were adamant to go on -uncut ; why shold shale companies wants to stoop drilling after pouring substantial capital as investments to run tis project companies.they would continue to exploit oil sand business as long world oil price does not dipped to below ,$42 ,which is their breakeven costs...that mean more salts to the wounds for oil producers like nigeria,venezuela even russia as their currencies dropped in line oil with oil price valuation.assuming opec cuts production next year ,the price of oil would rise wchh would then encourage shale production to produce more ,as their costs - $42 ...complexities rise which give rise to more complexities..

It looks more gloomy for many crude oil producers in the coming weeks!days or,months when IEA latest survey showed 96% shale producers would still be making money as long oil price is not lower than $42 pr brrel..Here wecwould assume thier cost production is much lower than $42 before hitting alarm button.while crude producers many of them struggling at$66 or lower ,96% of shale producers can still smile as their invetmnts returns are still profitable as the survey showed.
Meaning,shale producers will definitely accelerate its daily productions to get more juice out of the fruits n adding more surplus to thecexisting 2 million brrels on daily oil produced by OPec n non opec..both parties -shale ,fossil oil producers could cut production ,notably by shale producers when oil falls belw shale profit costs at $42.Eventually do we see oil price at $60 below and next $50 below -its very much everyone guess..when oil supply becomes more oversupplied and demands remain undemanding...

The dollar rallied n oil price plmmeted; we buy gold as safe haven n hedging against inflations n now quite an opposite has happened ( falling energy price) with defaltionary pressures n inflations well kept.swiss politician will vote on 30 novembr n plurality of voters was against the move to hold 20% of gold from 8% .please be advised n make ur decison correctly..
