2.3 HDD pricing to remain firm in the March quarter
According to JCY, pricing for its components remained fairly stable in the
March quarter compared to the December quarter, suggesting that gross margin
will remain high. Our discussions with some other HDD component suppliers
also suggest flat to a marginal decline in ASP as the drive makers are currently
more concerned about component availability than pricing. This is because the
drive makers are enjoying record gross margin due to the current undersupply
situation. According to Seagate and WD, the HDD industry is expected to ship
130m-135m drives in the March quarter vs. 119m in the December quarter and
will struggle to match demand throughout 2012. Both of them expect
meaningful inventory replenishment only in 1H13.
To maximise its return, JCY will continue to focus on better-margin projects
and allocate less resources to the lower-margin top cover and anti-disc
components. Also, the group will be gradually expanding its machining and
die-casting capacities to cope with the increased order from Seagate. The two
new China plants (one in Suzhou and one in Guangzhou) will be ready in 2012
as well and could help to alleviate the labour shortage in Malaysia.

somethings to share...cimb up jcy to 2.22 but long journey to go tp..2.22
4.3 Changes to target prices
During the 4Q11 results season, we made adjustments to all the five tech stocks under our coverage. We raised our target prices for…
..JCY from RM1.54 to RM2.22 as we bumped up FY12-14 EPS for higher 2H sales but maintained our valuation basis of 6x CY13 P/E, in line with comparables.
We lowered our target price for Jobstreet from RM2.97 to RM2.31 based on a 14.1x P/E, in line with its peers. We also cut Uchi’s target price to RM1.18 from RM1.22 based on an 8.8x CY13 P/E which is a 30% discount to our target market P/E.
More recently, we upped our target price for Unisem from RM1.00 to RM1.87, valuing the stock at a 25% premium (median premium during 2010-11 demand upcycle) over its 5-year historical P/BV, in light of the improving outlook for the industry. Similarly, MPI’s target price was raised from RM2.79 to RM4.08 as we valued the stock at -1 standard deviation to its 5-year average historical P/BV to match 1) the demand upcycle in 2009-11 and 2) less skewed valuations, i.e. no longer pulled up by the high P/BV multiple in 2007-08.

just share "Automotive (OVERWEIGHT)
Malaysia Feb 2012 TIV - REBOUNDED
Despite effect from Thailandflood and tightening of bank lending rules, MAA's Feb 2012 data indicated TIVrecovering growth of +9.0% yoy and +7.5% mom indicating returning of consumerinterests. Nevertheless year-to-date Malaysia TIV still suffer -10.8% yoy. Wemaintained our +6% TIV growth in 2012 due to : 1) continued consumerism; 2)improved household income; and 3) supply normalization.
The dominant national cars reported lower combined market share of 59.0%in Feb vs 61.4% in Jan 2012. Perodua (UMW and MBMR) had a strong rebound in Febwith +22.0% yoy and +10.3% mom, thanks to Viva and Alza. On the other hand,Proton reported sales drop in Feb with -6.1% yoy and -5.1% mom.
Toyota (UMW) reported significant jump in Feb sales with 34.2% yoy and47.9% mom, on the back of strong delivery of Hilux, Vios and Avanza. Nissan(TCM) reported relatively sustained sales in Feb with -2.3% yoy and +3.6% mom.Honda (DRB) was only able to deliver CBU units in Feb due to shutdown of Melakaassembly plant and hence the growth of -84.6% yoy and -28.5% yoy.
Hybrid cars sales increased 6.0% mom to 443 units with new marketentrance of Honda CRZ (RM115k) and Toyota Prius C (RM97k). Honda recentlylaunched Jazz Hybrid at RM95k (cheapest in the market). We expect continuedstrong demand for hybrid cars in 2012, due to lowered price (tax free) as wellas its fuel economy advantage.
We remain OVERWEIGHT on the sector. Top picks of the sector are DRB (TPof RM3.50), TCM (TP: RM5.10) and UMW (TP: RM8.25).

KUALA LUMPUR:Rubber gloves manufacturer Supermax Corporation Bhd expects to meet its after-tax profit forecast of RM100 million
to RM110 million for the company’s financial year ended Dec 31 2011, says executive chairman Datuk Seri Stanley Thai.
Thai estimates revenue of about RM1 billion for the company’s financial year 2011.
He said the company would announce the performance for its financial year 2011 in the middle of February.
According to Thai, Supermax’s performance for its financial year 2011 was affected among others by the firm price of natural rubber and the economic uncertainty.
Supermax posted an after-tax profit of RM158.9 million on revenue of RM977.28 million for its financial year 2010.
Moving forward, he foresees a remarkable performance for the company's financial year 2012 due to the lower price of natural rubber.
Thai estimates an increase of between 20 and 30 per cent in the group's sales for the current financial year.
“Financial year 2012 will be the best year for Supermax. The financial performance will be similar to that of 2010. Our financial year 2012 will record the highest absolute value in the history of the rubber gloves industry,” he said at a press conference after the company’s extraordinary general meeting
(EGM) here today.
Thai said natural rubber gloves contributed 63 per cent and 60 per cent to the group’s profit for its financial years 2010 and 2011, respectively.
“For 2012, the contribution of natural rubber gloves to the group’s profit would be higher. Demand for natural rubber gloves is increasing,” he said.
He said apart from the lower natural rubber price, other factors
contributing to the expected better earnings would be sales growth and contribution from the company's distribution activities.
Supermax had incorporated a subsidiary in the United Kingdom, which will take care of the markets in England, Scotland and Ireland, he said.
He also said the company’s subsidiary in Germany had recorded high growth in business activities especially in the hospital market in the country.
Thai said Supermax currently produced 17.5 billion pieces of gloves and the number would increase gradually to 22 billion pieces by 2013 with the completion of its two new plants in Meru, Selangor and the replacement of all its production lines.
“There will be a gradual increase of 20 per cent a year in production capacity,” he added.
At the extraordinary general meeting today, shareholders of Supermaxapproved its proposed bonus issue of 340,077,440 new ordinary shares of RM0.50 each in the company to be credited as fully paid-up on the basis of one bonus share for every one existing Supermax share.
The shareholders also approved the proposed purchase by Supermax of up to 10 per cent of its issued and paid-up share capital. - Bernama
