The most important thing is the company is paying back it debts which is a good thing. After debt repayment it will increase it CAPEX and expansion.

By the way I never know that a fund manager will borrow or use margin account to invest. When an investment bank are trying to set up a new fund, they will determine the size of the fund and selling it to public. And the fund manager will be managing the money within the clause of IPS. So far, I never read any IPS that grant the authority to fund manager to use margin account.

Since someone mentioned about portfolio management then I will talk about it a little. Markowitz Portfolio Theory emphasize on borrowing in risk free rate in order to invest in high yield stock for more return. Given 10 year MGS rate is around 4% according to BNM, you need to borrowing with interest rate less than 4% to earn money. Look at the interest charges on margin account provided by investment bank. I doubt that borrowing to invest will work.
Another issue on correlation, KLCI always had been a creative market with little to no correlation with world market. You might not be able to get precise correlation calculation to build up a portfolio. Apart from that, when everyone is in fear and keep selling. I don't think correlation will be working since everything is going down.

I love their balance sheet and cash flow statement. It shows that the company had repaying their debt. 75million of cash and only 105 million of total liabilities. Net cash company soon. Can buy in now and keep another quarter.

I find that the word 'bet'appears on a majority of margin Finance topics/discussion. Goes to show it's still a kind of gambling mentality.

This is the kind of knowledge knowhow which is grossly wrong n teaching our youngsters the wrong way.

We Shld be using the word invest especially for your future. They shld learn the prudent man rule as well. This will teach them responsibility on their own future.

I totally agree with the statement. Investing should be a boring and long term process which required a lot of skill, analysis and independent thinking. However, youngster now a days like to follow different GURU or tips in order to make a quick bucks. Most of them buy a stock and expect it to goes up tomorrow which is totally unrealistic.

Investment should be depends on independent thinking and own analysis. For those that rely on others TIPS to buy share you might end up wounded badly. However, you got no one to blame but yourself. If Koon Koon is so noble like he said, why don't he just write good analysis report like Icon or teach investment skill like KC instead of just writing article to promote share. It is just a discussion and everybody are entitled to their own opinion. So, I don't think you need to explain anything to anybody.

You are entitle to your own opinion but any sound mind will tell you the risk in financial derivatives are I am able to analyse a company and know the target price but for derivatives are pure betting on up or down daily which I think I have no power or capital to do so. Derivative are not mainstream but just for hedging purpose only.

He didn't mentioned FUTURES POSITION need to settle daily, which might drain all the cash holding of a person if index go down. However, if you hold portfolio with index composition, even the index go down u will only suffer paper loss and still got chance to regain back your capital. Financial derivatives always had higher risk than normal stock.

If AA so good , why wellington sell like no tomorrow?

As my understanding, each fund had its on criteria and restriction when it when it come to purchasing stock. As an example, some fund only can buy certain company with market cap more than 1 billion. The selling of Wellington might be due to the drop in the recent share price had breached the restriction by Wellington and trigger a force selling due to the investment policy.

Just my 2cent opinion.

Around 65 to 70 is a reasonable price. Buying not because of price appreciation but for the dividend.

Rule number one in investing. Never borrow money to invest. Nobody can predict the market in short term. If things turn ugly, then margin will wipe out all your hard earn gain.

An example scenario:
Hevea had been going down from 1.7x to 1.2x recently. If you bought on margin, you might facing margin call and force selling which will wipe out most of your capital.

However, if you bough on your own cash, you are free to buy more or hold on to the Hevea as the fundamental of company still intact.

Use margin unless you are 100% certain on the direction of the company in short term. But I love people using margin account because it will provide liquidity to the market and opportunity for real investor to acquire more during margin call.

Never worry about the price of Tek Seng as long as it continue to deliver excellent quarter result. Given the trend of green energy around the globe, I believe the share price will keep up eventually. Buy while it still in low price.

I believe 2016 will be a strong year for construction. Gkent, Gamuda, Gadang and etc. However, we need to be patient.
