Press release kept saying net operating profit up. But then true story is net profit for both 4Q and FY17 down.

Remember, AirAsia has so many one-off gains from asset disposal. That means operational-wise, it wasn't a great year.

Dimsum started out as a promising idea. But poor execution and terrible leadership have made it a laughing stock in the media industry.

It wanted to be the go-to place for Chinese entertainment. Yes brilliant. But how are you going to compete with Astro with its financial firepower and the tons of exclusive shows it has signed up only to be shown on Astro?

Dimsum promised to deliver the latest content. However, for example it took almost one year to show Nirvana in Fire (promised from day one). That also without the extended director's cut that was promised. That's only one example. Many more.

And mid way through, it realised that it's loosing the Chinese game badly. It then pivoted to Thai content. Tell me who watches Thai shows? People want the latest Korean and mainland series. Dimsum doesn't have any, if at all.

And Netflix and iflix are aggressively pushing into Korean and mainland China content.

Time to kiss goodbye I guess. I'll be surprised if Star kept pumping money to keep Dimsum afloat. It already killed off most of its radio stations and also sold off its money generating cash cow in Cityneon.

And not to forget about Dimsum. Unofficially, Star committed about RM30mil to start Dimsum, if I'm not wrong. The bleeding might have easily crossed RM50mil in total easily if you really calculate.

I'll be very surprised if it has more than 1k paid subscribers. Actually 500 also heard. Mostly trial and own employee (900+ people) complementary subscription.

RM15 per month. So agak2 you multiply RM15 x 1000 = RM15,000 revenue. Throw in all the operating expenses and other costs.

If you look at Dimsum's headcount alone, about 60-100 employees (or even more), and the huge amount it has to pay for content licensing, it's all doom and gloom.

Might take half a year or more to recover after each GE. And coupled with the weak consumer sentiment and weak advertising ad take-up, better think twice before you commit.

If wanna buy also wait until the GE crash happens. Better bargain there.

AA risk not being able to replicate this financial year performance in 2018. So much money in this year, so next year gonna see a huge fall in profit, unless Tony delays the AAC deal into 2018 to balance things off.

Shareholders should start questioning the transactions and money giving activities that are starting to occur now. Make sure the board and Wong Chun Wai are accountable.

And MCA appointed directors kept giving contracts and sapu money out. GE coming it will be even worse. In case MCA loses more seats (most probably), Liow will have to resign and opposite faction takes over. 

Don't tell me they will pass the cash hoard of hundreds of millions to the rival clan. No way right? Expect them to sapu most of the cash they built up over the previous years before they go. In the end Star will be an empty shell.
