You noticed that while CRC price increased 17% in China since July, HRC rose just 8%? These figures from your charts above. That shows an increased margin spread for CRC producers.
There are reports of record spread between HRC and CRC in the US.
For some reason, this appears to be a global trend now.

Good article. You write with understanding and knowledge of steel sector. Thank you.

This is an old story. I've read this before from this writer. No matter how good, should I3 allow old stories to be re-published?

Thank you. An interesting and comprehensive report.

Investors share their preferred style, others are entitled to their own.
Buffett differs from Soros. And just because someone quotes Buffett this or Lynch that doesn't mean he's right. He could be stupid despite the quotes.

Thanks Icon8888 for highlighting it before. Let's see its Q1.
Btw your last post was "I dumb dumb hold." But since sold off from your above remark. Are you one of the bulls today?

Mulpha - the daily rants over this stock and "booming" Iskandar had not a shred of truth. Iskandar is a very tough sell now, according to KSL management.

What did you learn from Mr Sow on Spritzer's prospects?
It has the biggest market share locally already, and seems to have difficulty in new markets nearby like Singapore, or further afield as a premium brand like Fiji Water.

Regulation requires disclosure of changes of substantial shareholding within one week, I believe.
Unless KYY has a good explanation, he should stop writing here, or the administrator should block his blogs.

The way he's doing it this time "boh swee." He shouldn't be allowed an issue of new shares, which causes dilution to other shareholders.
If he wants to raise his stake, let him buy up the stock from the market, then there's no dilution to shareholders.

You should STOP writing speculative articles, without facts. You're misleading and mis-educating readers at i3investor. You sound like Trump the Dump.

Retail investors should not buy this stock, in no way a national treasure.
This is a market economy, not a far left socialist or communist one.
Shell owns a very old refinery which has a very short working life span left. There's no comparison with Petron which owns both a refinery and a network of petrol stations.

It would need nothing to go wrong, like prices of solar cells dropping, because its debt gearing would have gone ballistic.
Like Hevea, Mieco, Carotech and LCL before, with too rapid an expansion with high gearing, any adverse change in business conditions would place great stress in the company.

How was Jaya Tiasa a low PE stock when it had hardly any earnings from plantations at that time?
I thought he regretted buying and pitching these "cheap" plantation stocks like this and R. Sawit, based on acreage as FFB output was still low and the acreages would take years to reach prime?

Do you not feel responsible for frightening small investors into selling their Hevea shares at panic prices, so you can grind your axe?

When a disgruntled vendor made a lot of noise in Lii Hen a couple of years ago, it scared off shareholders, including a friend who sold his shares before the price tripled. These disgruntled people are just trying to "punish" the owners with whom they had a quarrel.

Saltedfish, why do you say Hevea concealed the info? Firstly, HeveaBoard Bhd is not a defendant, secondly, the case may not be material, thirdly, it may not even exist.
2016-01-06 15:54 | Report Abuse
It's normal for listed companies to have legal suits from aggrieved parties, whether they've a case or not. You'll find this mentioned by many listed companies.
In this case, HeveaBoard Bhd is not even a defendant.

I don't have facts on the trades. It's a lesson to readers to get ideas on i3Investor but they've to do their own primary research on Bursa. Don't follow anyone blindly.
I notice, as Bursa rallies, there are now more and more ideas on stocks that'll shoot to the stars. To pump and dump? Readers beware.

hpcp, SHH explained under "seasonal factors" in its results statements that first quarter calendar year has lower turnover due to "lower overseas demand and longer festive holidays."
Calendar Q1 is typically weakest quarter for exporters because it's a long way off from the peak Christmas season.
Strongest quarters tend to be calendar year Q3 or Q4.
For Latitude eg, Q4 is its strongest, while for Poh Huat, its strongest is its Q ending Oct 31.
2016-01-05 11:24 | Report Abuse
You seem biased, because the seasonality is obviously not first quarter Sept 30 as you stated, but SHH itself stated that "turnover is generally lower in the beginning of the calendar year"
ie its third quarter March 31, which is seasonal low for most OEM exporters.
Therefore, as hpcp correctly pointed out, it's not right to annualise from Sept quarter, typically the strongest quarter for OEM exporters.

I don't think you were wrong, Mr Koon, in your views even on Jaya Tiasa and Mudajaya. It's a valid view as long as there's a logical basis for it. As for the company or stock performance in future, who can say for sure? Only idiots count on an opinion as a "tip of a sure thing." And all serious investors know we make mistakes, it's the overall performance that matters, and your overall results are sterling.

The "silent majority" should say something. Thank you Mr Koon for sharing your valuable experience. Those who blame you for their investment decisions are, as you put it, idiots. They're better off punting in the casino. They should know they're responsible for every one of their investment decisions, and not someone else.

The biggest contributor to KFima's earnings is subsidiary Fima Corp which holds the national printers concession. The concession has an expiry date.
Can we assume Fima Corp will get the concession renewed, and therefore sustain the strong earnings for itself and KFima?
Isn't there a high risk a politically-connected party might get the concession instead?

The reason Megasteel didn't ramp up production of CRC could be due to no money.
The same reason Kinsteel couldn't increase production, and Perwaja stayed at 0 output, of HRC. Steel price recovery came too late for them. Creative destruction.
In contrast, Ann Joo had surplus inventory to sell into the high prices.
