I have slight about Heng Yuan since Chinese companies have a reputation of publishing dubious figures. I may be wrong about Heng Yuan though.

My take is that the entire market including Petron is down due to the strong MYR of late. Foreign investors either cashing in or staying on the sidelines

I'm digging my heels with Petron. Remember folks that there are 2 values to a share - 1) Based on the fundamentals and 2) Based on Demand & Supply

Petron is doing excellent in 1 but not in 2. So I'm just twiddling my thumbs & swatting flies while waiting for its true potential to be realised.

If you are willing to hold till 2095 then there's money to be made

Despite the recent good performance, the questions that require answers are:

1. Is the performance sustainable or is it this quarter up and next quarter down

2. The progress on the big back taxes charge.

But the good indicator is that the insiders ie the major shareholders have raised their respective stakes.

TQ Victor & Linges for the insight on why Digi took the plunge. I wouldn't have had a clue from their Shariah announcement per se.

Loans & borrowings have all disappeared. Cash flow from operations are strong. TQ management. If only our local GLCs like Sime, Maybank etc can have a similar professionalism so that the full potential can be realised.

Don't expect dividends - based on past track record, it's once a year declared in April. However less dividends = more capital gains

I see the textbook "driven by greed & fear" playing out.

About a year ago, I had a similar situation with Ajinomoto. It was bitter-sweet because I came out a little too early. Overall though it sweet - made my biggest kill !

Today index shot up due to tenaga. Anybody knows the developments of the IRD on the tenaga back taxes of 2b and also the Magnum 0.5 b back taxes bill?

Have they been resolved & if so how much?

These guys that run the show are extremely conservative but I've no complaints.

The low dividend is more than adequately covered by the 7.6% shares bought-back. I have not come across any other PLC with such a significant treasury shareholding.

I hope Petron does not give away too many incentives that will hurt bottom lines. I fill up at Petron because of shareholder loyalty.

Biker2b Introducing new game is good but why .... Too many games will canabalise each other. Punters pockets are limited. Also I think replacement of existing game is easier to obtain approval as compared to approving an additional one.
