Very sad that Ms Tey had the view that Malaysia do not have state healthcare. She is very misinform. I think she lives in an echo-chamber. There certainly are a lot of Malaysian who thinks that the country (Malaysia) is going bankrupt and that palm oil is bad for one's health, etc etc...

While family being bankrupted from high medical bills, well this is prevailing even in UK, US, the Western countries as well as in Malaysia, in fact all over the world.

As a responsible citizen of the world, please research (and she is a researcher for god sake) your "facts" before making claims or statement.

Gosh, now I am beginning to wonder the quality of her research.

Why is the US government not stopping all these US financial institutions in investing in China????

These financial institutions might be "raped" by the Chinese, and the US owners/shareholders loses money if the US government narrative is to be taken as the truth.

What hypocrisy.

First and foremost, US Government should ban CitiGroup, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan and Morgan Stanley from being the book-runner of the IPO. Also, the US government should also ban these same financial firms from participating (forming subsidiary) in the economy of China. And sanction Credit Suisse also.

Please just do it Mark Rubio.

Assume all Malaysian are welcome to the youth party, it will be a tentative first step, possibly a big step.

This is in contrast to all the old politicians who basically fight for his own race.

Nonetheless, all the best to the youth party, if it ever get registered.

I find this obsession of foreign fund flow in Bursa vexing.

Since May 2018, foreign fund has taken OUT RM 15.7B (2018), RM 11B (2019) and to-date RM 20.2B. There is still 4 months to go. Sincerely, I do not see anything that foreign funds would want to invest in in Malaysia.

It can be concluded that Malaysia stocks are furthermost in the mind of the foreign fund. The giant - China, via HK is where the action is now.

Even Lee Kwan Yew said years ago: The size of China’s displacement of the world balance is such that the world must find a new balance. It is not possible to pretend that this is just another big player. This is the biggest player in the history of the world.

So move on Malaysian.

Now this is an interesting development. I hope that it will not fall into the usual track / rut.

I hope and wish that Nurul also stand up and out too.

All the yesterday leaders (Tun M, DS Anwar, Lim KS, Lim GE) should step down and give way to the next generation.

Ridiculous to make such announcement just for political gain and nothing else. Very shallow these American.

"It’s not quite a violation of the company’s First Amendment rights, but having the president imply that private citizens or businesses should be subject to government-initiated boycotts if they oppose him only emphasizes how little respect he has for democratic norms ..."

And Pompeo goes around claiming he and DT is from the FREE world that support free speech etc etc!! Gosh!!!

As American Consequences executive editor Buck Sexton, a former CIA officer, wrote in a great analysis this morning...

So far, the issue is not any especially nefarious technology, it's the connection to a Chinese government that is increasingly seen around the world as authoritarian, untrustworthy, and aggressive.

That said, the espionage threat of the TikTok app may be overblown...

There is no special functionality that would make TikTok a better social-media platform than many others to send sensitive information. Anyone who wants to transfer America's commercial or defense secrets to their handlers back in Beijing could just as easily use WhatsApp or a similar encrypted communication platform.

And while there may be some ways to use mass data harvesting of Americans to gain a long-term strategic advantage, it's not clear how or why TikTok is a unique vulnerability. After all, the Chinese can hack into (and have hacked) much larger, more sensitive U.S. systems.

The “sophisticated state-based” cyber-attack Australian prime minister Scott Morrison warned about today...is not particularly sophisticated, according to experts.

But it is a wake-up call for businesses to keep their systems patched and secure, and to remain alert.

“[The state actor campaign] doesn’t look very sophisticated,” UNSW professor of cybersecurity Richard Buckland told our reporter Josh Taylor.

“It’s well-resourced in a large scale but I haven’t seen anything yet that’s super secret or super sinister. They’re using known techniques against known vulnerabilities and following known processes.”
