LuckyG. Share buy-back has many reasons. It can also occur when the share is trending up. In which case the reason may be to accumulate for bonus issue which will cost the company less than if the bonus issue is totally from new shares. Say if MRCB buys back at 1.20. At the time of bonus issue, the share price is 1.50. A bonus issue from both Treasury and new shares will minimise dilution for the share holders.

Genetec business is focused on the future - automation and productivity. That's where the Malaysian economy is heading. I expect it's headwinds, even in the next quarter, is temporary.

Not all counters have share buy-back! Please go and check! But MRCB going up. So those who want to collect on the cheap by talking it down should get on now or miss the bus. If it closes above 1.20 today, the bus is heading towards 1.30!

No count on China. But a stimulus can move market expectations. The crude overhang is not much since many countries stock up on reserves to take advantage. These reserve will NOT be used down to zero before new purchase but will be topped up on a FIFO basis since these countries would want to maintain a certain level of reserves post-crisis! The event to watch is whether other oil producers will follow Russia and Saudi to cap production. If so, the next event should be a cut in production.
